When driving into the office complex, the signage may lead you to the left, but their assigned parking spaces are to the right. The spaces are pretty cramped everywhere, so trying to get your door fully opened to get to baby's carseat can be a challenge. It was our first visit here to the new location, and so far so good!

We came in for a well visit for our daughter and discussed a few items with our doctor one of which was stomach issues which she was having for a few weeks to that point. Since this was a large concern of ours we asked for a CAT scan just to make sure everything is okay. Again this may be overboard possibly but we just want to make sure nothing major is going on. The doctor deterred our concern and said it will likely go away and the CAT scan isn't necessary. Well it's been over a month since that visit and our daughter is still complaining about her stomach. I call in to the office to get a referral at this point and what does the doctor say. We need to come in for another appointment and not only that but the representative said the stomach issues weren't even noted in her medical records. Im a business owner myself and to me this seems like a bit of a cash grab considering they're requiring another visit to discuss something we've already talked about (though apparently we didn't?? Hmm). One other cash grab item that disturbed me last visit was a cholesterol scan they 'recommended' but no one told us the results until we asked?? We had a pediatrician picked out prior to delivery (9 months ago), but after my c section they mentioned that the dr we chose was no longer taking new patients.. so they scheduled us a pediatrician. After our sons first check up (with the assigned Dr) a few days after we left the hospital, I had that new motherly gut instinct that this was not the dr, nor the office I wanted to bring my child to for the next 10 years. I went on yelp to find a Dr. immediately after that appointment and came across Carmel Valley Pediatrics. Our first appointment with Dr. D was amazing. She was so sweet, nurturing and really made me feel comfortable as a new mom! She always has time for questions, and as new parents we ask tons of dumb questions and she's always is so sweet and so helpful and makes us feel so supported. They gave my daughter the flu shot and told me after it was already administered that they messed up and gave her the wrong vaccine. My closest friend got Guillain-Barré syndrome from the flu shot and lost 20 years of her life that way. I am livid! It is one of the main shots I would NEVER give my child by choice.

This review is for the billing department…read more The overcharged us and refused to refund us. 3 months after appointment they refuse to file claim to get their portion from my insurer, instead they keep sending bills to us. Care maybe okay but the rest of the experience is horrific. Update: we have reached out to raise this overpayment multiple times, each time we were told that the insurer needs to direct the refund. It is clear from our insurer's portal that we have overpaid, and yet the clinic refuse to refund.

We have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Wasson. Setting up her new account was also pretty easy over the phone. My son unfortunately had also come down with the flu while we were in San Diego, which was able to be tested and confirmed at this location with an easy sick visit. He had previously had an account created with another Children's Primary Care location so it was a breeze to schedule him on their online portal and was able to be seen the same day. We were seen by another great doctor. This location is also great in that they are open later some days during the week for extended hours. We are leaving SD now, but we would have been 100% happy to make this our primary care practice. Thank you for providing us with much needed medical care while we were displaced from the fires!
