I love Michael's. It's probably my favorite store. I mean, I'm an artist. I'm not famous, but I make art. I love going into Michael's and exploring each aisle, and letting the products speak to me. I also do scrapbooking, and Michael's does have some decent scrapbooking supplies. They're not A.C.Moore (RIP), but you can find some nice books of paper, rubber stamps, stickers, glue dots... This time I came away with a straight-edge cutter, and a macrame plant hanger, and a pack of pencils. Apparently our gremlin stole all my pencils. I had a gift card which I received for Christmas, and a $5 off coupon, AND a 20% off coupon from the website. Most of the store was already on sale - a lot of buy one, get one half off. My mom was with us, and she stocked up on $2 Christmas wreathes, and some stuff for making cards. Our receipt claimed that we somehow saved almost $50. I never feel bad about shopping at Michael's. I always spend less than I expected because there's always some kind of coupon online. And I always come away with something that I can use in/on my art - like feathers, gems, ribbon, colored stones, puffy paint, etc. I'm already thinking about what I need for the next time I get a coupon from my rewards card. I will most certainly be back. PS: the bathroom is large, and Jeremy and I had no problem fitting in the accessible stall with my big, motorized chair. read more

I've been buying craft and gift items at this store for years but hubby and I used their framing services for the first time last month. Back in July a dear friend had a photo shoot for our golden group of friends and the print I had done needed custom framing due to the size. The young lady in the framing department helped us choose a frame and mat colors and I love that we were able to see what the finished product would look like via a computer program. I have to admit I was a bit taken aback at the cost ($199 with a 70% off coupon) but we've never had professional framing done before and were thrilled with the results. Our framing was done even earlier than promised and when we arrived to pick it up all the girls who worked there came out the meet the people with the "10 goldens in a truck" photo. Love how friendly and professional the staff is here, this will always be our first choice for our future framing needs. read more

Eh... Let me just start by saying that I love Michaels as a store. You can find pretty much everything to suit your crafting needs (except their fabric selection is usually lacking) and there's always some sort of sale going on. However, the two stars are directed at the set up of this particular location. Like Jess I. says in her review, this Michaels is extremely disorganized. From my experience, I've seen most locations are usually organized into 6 major sections, fine arts (canvases, paints), framing, general crafts (beads, hot glue, knitting, feathers, etc.), holiday/wedding, scrapbooking, and floral. Most giant chains do this so that patrons can navigate the store easily, no matter what location they are visiting. However, this place didn't quite adhere to that philosophy. Perhaps it's because it's holiday season and they have a lot of extra merchandise in the store, but aisles were barely wide enough for a cart and there were too many little mini displays of random craft projects sprinkled throughout the store and I saw many shoppers struggling to maneuver through the store because of this. It also seems to be understaffed, something I realized when I couldn't find anyone to help me find what I'd come to buy (a problem I probably wouldn't have had if the store were better organized). And when it came time for me to check out, I stumbled towards the front of the store to see one cashier and a line of eight people. At the end of the day, I got what I needed but it took way too much effort and time. read more

Terrible service. Waited at the framing counter and couldn't find anyone. Pushed the red customer service button three times. Waited. Went to the front of the store to ask for help. They called the framing counter so I went back. As soon as I got there the girl said she couldn't wait on me because she was going on her break. I told her I had been waiting for a while and she said I had not because she never saw me. I said I had to go to the Front counter to find help because no one waited on me. Anyway, after basically calling me a liar she went on break. The manager on duty was there and she was not helpful. She said she knew nothing about framing. Also, she wouldn't provide any names. I asked for a discount. She said she was unable to do anything. I had no choice but to leave with my project in tow, with zero results. I surely miss AC Moore! read more

Been shopping at Michaels now for 6 years and I've never returned anything with a receipt. Well it happened the time had come where I needed to return something I purchased in cash without a receipt and the manager Amanda I believe her name was was called to approve it and she denied my return even after I pointed out that the return policy says returns without a receipt will be given in merchandise card for store credit I was okay with this and she had the worst attitude and was not helpful at all now because of her I refuse to ever shop at Michaels again! I do not frequent Michaels. The store was messy, but it seems like most of the staff are teenagers that could give two craps about the place. The check out lady was exceedingly nice however, and brightened my day a little. It's a chain store, the big variable here is the staff and they don't clean up and the shelves aren't stocked. read more

Love this place!! Food is excellent. Steve the owner is super nice. He has brought an upscale location to the east side of Balto county! Josh the manager really cares about the dinner's experience. Can't rave enough about this place it's BEAUTIFUL and food is off the hook good! Bartenders and staff were very accommodating and really paid attention to our requests. This location has gone downhill over the last several months. It's dirty, cluttered and the service is non-existent. Working in retail for as long as I have. This is a sign the store has an underperforming store leader in place. And until a change is made, the store will continue to decline. I will take my business elsewhere. read more
