i tried this talior and had nothing but bad energy and experience with him and alot of lies, he mess up my wedding and didnt try nothing at all to accommodate me at all for inconvenience and i have order severval suits all them either 4 sizes to big or u cant get ur arms in the coat. i have talk to several preachers and clients all them have said that micheal want ur money but dont want to correct anything or guve you anything for your inconvenience and i have found that out for myself, i rwach out to him many times about my issues never got a response back or any suits to accommodate me at all after he got pictures of all my issu all he can say to me when i do see him at a convention or something i can order another suit and thats all no refund or another suit after they mess all my suits up and i have proof i threw one in da garbage because i sent it back to him 3 times and still couldnt wear it so i reach out to his staff and told them am done with his service because he want to make ur money but dont want to correct the issue like u dont work hard for ur money. never again and i didnt want to post a review but i saw him this past week and he just brush me off like i was nothing and lied to ne that i didnt call or text him and after i showed him he got cried and walk off from me but its all good read more

I ordered my only custom suit ever from Michael's a few years back and in hind sight, the whole experience was awful. After the several weeks that it took for the suit to be made in Asia, it arrived and I tried it on: It was HUGE. Michael said "Wow! You've lost weight!" The problem is that I had actually gained weight. The suit was so grossly wrong in sizing that it was baggy and about 3 sizes too big. Michael said no problem - we will get it altered to fit. The problem is, the adjustments made leave tell-tale unevenness in the suit. It looks like a size 48 suit that was put through heavy alterations to make it fit a size 40. To add insult to injury, the custom panel on the inside where my name is embroidered has the text of my name curving down-ward to fit since they ran out of space. I was told it would be fixed but it never was. The suit is the only custom one I've ever ordered yet every one of my off-the-rack suits fits so much better. This is also the most I've ever paid for a suit. I've barely ever worn the suit because of the bunching of material where it was altered to fit just looks BAD. I didn't notice it until the first time I wore it out with my girlfriend (now my wife) and she pointed out "Wow! I don't know who altered this suit, but they did a BAD job. It's all bunched at the seams." I don't know if it has gotten any better in the past few years, but I've written the experience off as I was taken for a ride. read more

I fell the "package deal" and instead of loosing out on one suit, it was a much more costly mistake. The quality is not bad, but the fit is terrible. Everything was way, way too big. They did remeasure, and rework the suits/shirts, and did get closer, but it took me standing there listening to them tell me what I did wrong, and why they didn't fit was my fault. They sill are too big to even wear, and because they way they stitch your name into the liner it can't be removed so I can't resale any of these suits. Such a costly mistake. Please don't make the same one. Update: the sales phone calls won't stop, and the customer service is all but non existent. read more

I love this place, and I love my experience with Michael. First off, you have to realize that the experience is interactive, and that you take on a certain responsibility when you are a customer here. These are not off the rack suits at Nordstroms that come back in 3 days. The first jacket I bought took over an hour of discussion for what I wanted. Even then, I needed to have it adjusted twice. It takes work, but in the end, it's also work sifting through unoriginal, overpriced, one-size-fits all suits at Nordstroms. You can basically find any style you want here. I have a more modern/causual taste, and I find fabrics here that you can't get in stores. Especially linen jackets. The cost is about 20% more than stores, but the selection and fit are 50% better. Shirts are incredible and about $20 more than what I can find elsewhere, after you factor in additional tailoring costs elsewhere. People who don't get tailored shirts usually look sloppy. Unless you happen to have the exact perfect body type for the shirt you happen to be buying. I pay about $90 for each shirt, and they fit perfectly and the fabric is far better quality than anything I've ever found at a store. A real custom tailor charges $3k-$5k for suits and this is not that. We're talking $500-$1.5k per suit, depending on the fabric, and for what they sell, it's an awesome service. I got a custom shirt here which for $125 wasn't the best shirt I have ever bought (if I am paying money for it to be tailored as a slim fit, why do they make it baggy in places??) Where I have my issue is I went back in to get measurements done for a wedding coming up overseas (the groom wanted us to send him the measurements and he would be ordering the suits). Imagine my shock when they tell me they would charge $95 for the measurements! I asked them as a customer if they would do it for $20 knowing that I would be using them again in the future. No budging - so the situation is in my hands and they have now lost a customer. a note to this store: sometimes you have to give a sale away to guarantee more sales down the road. Michael Sahi will unprofessionally blame you and say that you are changing your order or that your size has changed in order to avoid accountability for his mistakes. He comes off with the facade of a well dressed professional gentleman while you are initially placing your order. Once your suits come back and you realize you have been sold suits that do not fit or that you did not order, he turns into a cruel and nasty monster that now has your money and refuses to accept any responsibility for his errors. He will offer to make adjustments that come back even worse than the original suits you started with. The end result will then be a suit that has been altered 3-4 times and looks like a Frankenstein project. read more

"Caveat Emptor"- BUYER BEWARE! I have dealt with Michael for over 5 years now, but he really showed his true colors on this last transaction. 1. HE messed up the order and wanted me to pay for the difference. It was only until I contacted AMEX that he decided to fix the issue. However, keep in mind I ORDERED the shirts back in NOVEMBER. I still do not have the complete order. 2. It is now almost one year later and he still has the audacity to tell me that it is MY FAULT. 3. Do yourself a favor there are plenty of shirt makers in New York with better service and also after a lot of digging around I now know the plant in Hong Kong that makes these shirts which you can order from directly for a lower price CUT THE MIDDLEMAN and THE BS! read more

I have been ordering clothing from Michael's Custom Clothing for several years now. I have never been disappointed. The service is superb, I am greeted cheerily and they offer me a refreshing beverage. They took my measurements quickly and professionally and get right to business on finding fabrics and styles that I am comfortable with. The clothes fit me perfectly every time I order and the whole experience is far superior to any other shopping experience I have ever had. It is generally hard to find clothing that fits me correctly, but at Michael's that is never a problem. The clothes are made for me, in my choice of fabrics and styles and they always turn out right. STAY AWAY! I met with them on one of their trips to the NY area and purchased a suit and 2 shirts. When the clothes arrived, the suit was WAY too large. The waist on the pants was about 6 inches too large and the jacket was several sizes too big. Every time I have called them trying to resolve this they were confrontational, tried put the blame on me and make excuses. They refused to issue a refund and generally made me feel unappreciated (certainly not like a customer). They asked that I mail the suit back and it would be altered. It did so, but there is only so much alterations you can do to a suit that is way too big before it just looks funny. After two sets of alterations the suit still looks terrible and they could care less. Long story short - BUYER BEWARE!! Truly sneaky, nasty people. read more

They promised two suits. One never showed up. The second one was a joke, tailored terribly and made from cheap materials, not what I had ordered. They did charge my credit card and we are fighting to get our funds back. When we sent them the suit back they lied to Fedex and said they did not have a business at their address. When he bought one suit it was made of a different material and fit like a clown's outfit. They said they would fix it and send it for a very important event. The suit never showed up. I just got my suit. Wow!! I was a bit skeptical at first, but after seeing friends with nice suits I tried one. While waiting on my suit, I found out that Sahi s and his family had been doing this for years and had access to textiles national tailors did not. The cost was a little less than I have paid for other custom suits, so I was concerned about quality. To my surprise, the suit is better than my Armani suits, Hicki Freeman, and my other favored custom suits. I m impressed!! As a lawyer this is a difficult task... Wow!! read more

My third order with Michael, and my first suits. I didn't know what to expect, so I went in with hesitation. Went big and ordered three suits, a tuxedo, and a dozen VERY customized shirts (like details on shirts which would normally cost anywhere from $500 - 1000). I asked for a rush, and Michael came through. Not only in the amazing turnaround (only three weeks) for part of the order, but AMAZING quality. I've owned a number of very expensive off the rack suits (Zegna, Canali, Oxxford, Brioni, Isaia, Attolini, Corneliani) as well as some very expensive shirts (Canali, Stefano Ricci, Borrelli, Brioni, ...). Michaels easily exceeds them in quality and stunning looks, but also in significantly better fit that only a custom piece can provide. And, the entire lot (suits/tux/shirts/ties)... cost less than I normally spent (past tense, as I'm only buying from Michael now) for a single nice suit which, in retrospect, didn't fit me all that well compared to what Michael has made for me. On top of it all, Michael is a great guy - humble, warm, honest, and very generous with his time (something you rarely find these days). This was my first big order with Michael (the previous two orders being shirts only). I have a feeling it will become an obsession for me as I build my new wardrobe. I have been utilizing Michael's for 14 yrs. I have 1 tuxedo, 20 suits, 40+ sportcoats, 15 pairs of slacks and more than 80 shirts from them. Yes, that much, and I still have the first suit I ever bought from Michael himself and it still fits well and looks like a new suit. I first went to Michael upon the recommendation of a VP at my former employer since I was recently promoted to executive. I have not gone anywhere else. I am now a VP at a fortune 30 company, and pride myself on my wardrobe and dressing the part. The only advice I can give is you have to know what you want when you order custom clothing. My first suit was single vent with nothing fancy. I now have tried many design features/styling cures, such as hacking pockets, ticket pocket, dual vent, high gorge jacket, alternate/contrast stitch or piping on the functional buttonholes and lapel, and really wild lining colors. Michael will entertain anything but you have to tell them what you want or at least ask questions. I rip pages out of fashion magazines or download pictures to my tablet and bring them with me when Michael is in my town so I can make sure I order what I expressly want. My wife tells me that whatever I buy from him is my Christmas gift from her to me, but it is worth it. Michael is a true gentleman. The other benefit of custom clothing is that it forces me to keep my weight consistent and work out. I have spent too much $$ over the last 14 yrs to buy a new wardrobe. Another benefit is they have a record of everything you have bought so I can call them up and order another shirt (I needed an extra tuxedo shirt once) or they can send you fabric swatches to select from. If I have a gripe, albeit minor, is the duty charges for when the suits arrive. However, that is a minor inconvenience given the value of the suits. I had one jacket custom made at a local tailor near me, and the jacket was almost $1,000 without functioning buttonholes, which are standard with Michael's offerings. All in All, I am sold. I just got 4 new jackets made and cannot wait for the cooler weather to come so I can wear them. read more
