I really like the new location as there is lots of parking, the store is spacious and bright inside and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The wall on the right side of the entrance changes with difference themes periodically. The store is laid out so there is lots of room to look around without getting in other people's way. The paper is displayed by theme along with stickers and embellishments. They carry some unique papers like printed acetate. Ink, markers, ribbon, stamps and die cuts are located near the back of the store. What I was so excited about was to see stamped images on watercolour paper. There was a selection of different images and greetings for cards, each sheet was $1.79. The images can be coloured with Copic markers, watercolour pencils or aqua painters. You cannot walk in and not buy anything. If you spend over ten dollars and you get one scrap buck which does not expire. They offer Saturday crops as well as the occasional weekend crop. The place is very bright and clean with an okay selection - it's definitely not the biggest that I've seen but I think you would get by for a project that you were working on. I love the idea of scrapbooking/creating and enjoying coffee at the same time - I didn't have a coffee though as I was on a mission for my letters! The customer service was lacking though as I asked for help finding anything with letters - stickers, stencils, anything. The lone employee told me that she was pretty sure they didn't have anything. I looked through the store and I found two separate packs of letter stickers and she was surprised when I brought them to the till. I get that you may not always know what's in stock, but I would have expected an employee to come out from behind the till (when she wasn't serving anyone at the time) to double check a few places where she may have seen the product I was seeking in the past. This store is out of the way for me on the north end of the City but it is conveniently located just off St. Albert Trail.

For me, the Butterdome Christmas Craft Sale is a tradition, and I love it! I love meeting the busy vendors, seeing the new or "it" products side-by-side with classics like hand carved wooden toys or home-made fudge. I love the hustle and bustle of people doing their Christmas shopping in one big go, and trying to find my yearly must-gets! The Craft Fair is usually the last week in November or first week in December, so keep it in mind to add to your list of holiday events. Make sure to bring cash!! That's a must. If you're really keen, they have links that showcase the vendors this season. Vendors offer a large variety of unique crafts, some are similar to each other though. Prices and deals vary depending on the vendors; but keep in mind that unique tends to be more expensive than big box stores. It's mostly the same vendors as previous years, so it's easy to shop if you know what you want... or if you had regretted not buying something from this year, you'll probably get a second chance with the next year's craft sale. It easily gets crowded despite the decent amount of spaces between booths. If you can avoid using a stroller, you'll be able to get around more freely for sure. That being said, the butterdome is wheelchair & stroller accessible, which I appreciate. I also like how most of the food vendors are along the same area. There's always a bunch of samples to be had & popular items to pick up are wild dried mushrooms, butter tarts, bread, and maple products; just to name a few.

They have everything you need for scrapbooks and other craft projects, including rows and rows of stickers and rub-ons, chipboards, paints, brads, and crafting tools. There's also an entire wall of cardstock paper in all kinds of beautiful colours and patterns. While they had everything one could possibly need for any project, some of the items were a bit pricey, even for a scrapbooking store, I would say. So be selective with your items, because you can get certain ones for cheaper elsewhere. That being said, be sure to check out the back, as that's where all their clearance stuff is currently stocked at half price. I found some really cool cardstock paper back there for really cheap. They also have a room in the back where they hold their craft and scrapbooking classes. You can sign up via their website; I think one usual session is about $20. They also have examples of projects throughout the store, so you can get an idea of what they make. And there's a small play room for kids right beside the entrance, for moms who want to take their time getting stuff but can't find a babysitter. I've been finding it really hard to find a great looking, functional diaper bag at all, let alone something that's going to work for both me and my husband. They had several in our allotted diaper bag budget that fit the bill. They also had the cuts selection of wooden soother clips. The girl working was very helpful and willing to answer questions while still giving us space to browse on our own, which I appreciate. Some places find it hard to strike that balance. Once Upon a Child is HANDS DOWN the best consignment store chain for used children's clothing and accessories. I've frequented them in Edmonton for several years now and even visited one in Saskatoon! You can drop off your gently used clothing and toys to trade in for store credit if you'd like as well. They offer a frequent purchaser stamp card to earn discounts and usually have coupons in the SUTP coupon book. They are on facebook and have an e-mail list if you would like advance notice for upcoming sales and specials! They also carry new items like Melissa & Doug at prices below what you would find at Toys R Us.
