I also noticed at this specific location that they took away their price scanners, which is a real bummer. I downloaded the app to check a few prices and the scanner on the app didn't work. The quality is very good and the material is very sturdy and won't break easy. Value for the items is reasonable plus they have discounts if you sign-up with your email or phone number. Michaels is like a magical black hole for anyone with a creative bone in their body. You go in for one item and walk out an hour later with a cart full of glitter, an entire new home decor aesthetic, and a looming sense of financial doom. Jesse in Custom Framing at Jacksonville Southside is AMAZING! This guy isn't there for a job, he's there as an artist. I came in with nine prints from an artist that needed a special feel from their frame, so they were not all cookie cutter, rather they each needed to be combined as a small collection that was just right in frame color and metalics based on their anticipated wall display. It was an overwhelming experience until Jesse went into action! He listened closely to what I was looking for and knew when some things we put together didn't "wow" me. He kept at it making marvelous suggestions and when I thought something was just a little too plain, he elevated it to a new level that sold me! He was never pushy. He was never overpowering with making me feel like his opinion mattered most. He was never inpatient. The customer service is horrible. I went up there three times in one week with an appointment mind you. I was not able to be helped. The value of importance to the customers time is non existent to these night supervisors. The puzzle selection was amazing so even in my disgust I still made a purchase. I have owned this print since 1991 and was damaged during a move from the Northeast to the South. Even though I marked the frame fragile, be gentle, glass, etc. They still smashed the glass putting heavy things on top of it. Needless to say, when I took it in, Sarah advised that it started to mold and there was water damage. I treated the mold with 91% alcohol since they couldn't work on it in that condition. Sarah guided me, advised me and helped me choose the frame and border shown here. They covered up the damage and no one can tell where it was. Needless to say, I was very nervous about the job but once I saw it I was sold. And it matches the color scheme of my mantle!!!! I am now a loyal customer and will give all my jobs to them. I have been in many Michaels stores in the past, and have also been in this store previously, but this is by far the most organized and the staff was the most helpful and they were also friendly. I did not have to hunt someone down to help me to find something,they had plenty of people working, sad when asked for help locating an item, the clerk escorted me to the item, instead of pointing across the store, or simply stating, they are on aisle 5. They had every register open at the front of the store and the checkout clerk was knowledgeable and courteous. The store also seemed to be better stocked and more organized, and the aisles were not cluttered. read more

This is a great Michaels. It's brightly lit and welcoming when you walk in. It's wide open but segmented enough so that you can find what you're looking for. The seasonal decor is so cute, on trend and affordable that it'll convince you that of course yes, you do need that extra wreath for the front door or canvas for the bathroom. There are always coupons you can google and use at checkout and things are often on sale anyway. This location gets five stars from me. read more

I bought two rolls of decorative duct tape at Michael's on Beach Boulevard. They were $10 per roll, marked down to five dollars per roll. When I got home, I could not get either roll to stick on anything at all! I went to see if I could get a credit for the rules, not a refund. I was told Michaels does not stand behind any clearance product. If a clearance product doesn't work if the tape doesn't stick at the pin doesn't write and they've sold it to you they don't care. I am partial- but I believe this is the best Michaels in the area! The managers care and work hard to make sure they are taking care of their customers. And you can find them working their tooshes off on the sales floor or at the registers! Have a project and you need help figuring out what to buy- just ask! Their staff craft too and there is usually an expert who can help you! Jewelry? Ask Tiffney- one of the managers! Their framing department is awesome too- Anna has always taken good care of me and I love that they can show you what your picture will look like beforehand! Michaels is my go too for all things canvas and paints! Canvas is on sale all the time! I love their jewelry department too! Every season gives another excuse to explore the store! I come to this location regularly with my wife and I have nothing negative to say other than its well organized and the staff are helpful. I'm always amazed at how much they charge for custom framing but they are always sending great coupons via their email that it really does reduce the costs for a ton of products throughout the store. read more

If I can rate this store no stars I would gladly do it. Came into the store to return a couple of items that I got for a better deal. I did a pick up in store last Monday. I don't have the paper copy of course that came with it. Came back today to do the return, the managers Curtis and Megan both said no. Megan said that it's already too late to call customer service (this was a little after 8pm). Jade, the cashier was the only one who was compassionate about this whole situation. I left the store upset and drove home. Called customer service because they are actually still open and they apologized about the whole issue. He said that the managers could have returned it without any issues. I know it's the holiday but this got me really mad! I was being nice at first but I definitely went from nice to nasty real quick! I came here to have a picture framed for my boyfriend for Christmas 2013. A few days before Christmas I received a phone call saying that one of their employees damaged my picture but they were going to frame it anyways for me to look at. They said if I was not happy with it, then they would purchase a new picture and reframe it for me. Well, I was not happy with the damage so I asked for them to purchase a new picture and frame it. Weeks went by and I heard nothing. So I drove over an hour to get to the store, only to be told that the mananger was not in and they had no idea what I was talking about. I left my name and number and asked for the manager to call me. Weeks passed and still nothing. My boyfriend called and the manager said that they couldn't find my number to call but that they would be purchasing the picture, if he could tell them where I bought it. Mind you that I had already told them where I bought the picture. Weeks pass again and finally a phone call stating that the picture was in! My boyfriend went to the store and looked at it, only to find that they must have found the cheapest, lowest quality picture they could. The colors were wrong. They told him that they could just change the matting to match the new colors. My boyfriend told them no, we want the same picture as what was brought in to them. We gave them the name of the place where I purchased the picture, and still over 8 months later, we are still waiting on this picture. No phone calls from the store, no picture, nothing! I paid nearly $600 to have this picture framed, and this is how they treat their customers! I did file a complaint with the BBB, not sure that my complaint will matter. But if I ever get my framed picture from this store, I promise you that I will never shop here again! All in all... if you want to get a picture framed, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I went here the other night to get some baby shower supplies. Boy am I glad I did. They had 80% their fall items. And even had some Christmas items on sale! I got a ton of items for like .99 each! Now I only found a few things that I could actually use for the baby shower so I was a little disappointed I didn't find more. Another thing is unless it's on sale it's likely to be expensive. But I love their sales and coupons so it's usually a good day when I shop here. Also to note the store was clean bright and organized. They are fully stocked with anything you'll need for making your crafts- paint, paintbrushes, glues, fabrics, sparklies and shinies, EVERYTHING. Also a great stop if you're an artist- lots of sketchbooks, colored pencils, markers, paints and brushes, stencils, they've got it all. Also a GREAT selection of picture frames, and they have a framing department that will custom frame any item you have at a great price. And if you're looking for anything to decorate your home for any holiday- Michaels always has a great selection of items for both inside and outside your home, no matter what holiday it is. Also- keep an eye out in the local paper for Michael's ads- they pretty much always have a coupon for framing, and also a 40% off any item coupon. They usually have killer sales on most everything in the store, and if you couple that with some coupons- you're saving some serious dough.
