I went in there several years ago around Christmastime. Everything was in such a jumble; managed to wrangle a manager who dismissively pointed me right back to where I had been looking for something (that obviously was not there). Then I found some other little things and waited in line for 20+ minutes at the only lane that had its lamp lit to signify it was open. It was most definitely open, but unattended. The attendant was too busy stocking items and walking back and forth and looking at us incredulously. I hope they've gotten better by now but I just don't want to attempt it again. I will say, though, that I thoroughly enjoyed the loud Count Basie they were playing on the store's very good stereo system, and found myself swaying in time with it behind my cart...and a couple coming towards me in the opposite direction a few yards away were doing the same thing and we saw each other and grinned. And it happened that I was right beside the abundance of Russell Stover boxed chocolates on sale for a ridiculously low price. It turned into a happy day, but still - if the store and the employees are in no better humor, I don't think 'lightning strikes twice', as they used to say. read more

5-star selection, 2-star organization I come to Ollie's primarily for comics, and this Ollie's has a great selsction. The problem is it's like Hell trying to look through them. If I lived in town I'd sort it for free. An employee saw me looking through the main comics section, and she pointed me to another part of the store where they had to put a recent shipment. She said that the manager didn't care about the lack of organization. It shows. All the comics were crammed into a shelf that just isn't made for books. You'd have to be a contortionist to look through everything. I did my best, but my 40-something body could only do so much. If I ever come back I'll be sure to bring some Doan's. read more

This store isn't clean! I went there 3 days ago and after looking for something, I never found, I went where the rice is sold. I saw something moving from the corner of my eyes to see countless flying bugs on a bag of rice. It looked to have a brown substance on it! I was instantly sickened by this. When I got to the cashier, I told her and she looked like she didn't care, like that's not her department. A store like Ollie's should be inspected daily- in every aisle. This is a pretty good Ollie's, at least when I hit it. Found a book for a birthday party, and the toy selection was definitely better stocked than our Ollie's stores in PA. I didn't need anything from other departments but by the look of things, they were well-stocked all over. For example, in PA our rain boot selection is virtually nil, but this store has a wall of rain boots! Maybe FL doesn't wear rain boots like PA? Point is, I either hit them after a truck delivery or this store is far better at keeping up with stocking and gets sent better merch to sell. It was overall a much better selection than at home. Staff was friendly, though checkout lines were a little slow (a little faster than at home). read more

I've been a handful of times since they opened years ago- my mother-in-law was addicted to shopping here for cookbooks and coloring books. I came in this time to see the advertised pottery (planters) sale and missed out. The display table next to empty and what was left mostly was chipped or simply not what I was looking for. Actually every item I saw in the sales flyer was out of stock. I perused the rest of the store and didn't find anything I couldn't live without- but I have found deals previously. Spring is my favorite at Ollies. They get ridiculous amounts of pottery. I love to plants and pottery together. It is like art to me. My house is full of their beautiful and color treasures. This Ollies is specifically special because they actually know when they are getting shipments of pottery in. The other locations say they don't know what's on the trucks. But here I can call ahead and ask when and they tell me how many pallets. I don't live close so it is always an adventure. This place has so much more too. It's really special. I love this store. Great finds at bargain prices. It's like going on a treasure hunt. Some days you find lots of great deals and some days not so much. It's always fun looking. They sell lots of books and have a really great Christian section. It's my go to place to find bibles, devotionals and good Christian literature. My mother kept asking me, "Have you been in Ollie's yet?" and I kept telling her "No, I haven't" so with a half-hour to kill before our movie Saturday she brought me here and showed me around. The Yelp descriptions are pretty accurate, a Big Lots on steroids. This place was formerly a Babies R' Us so the size didn't surprise me but they needed the space for all this stuff they've selling! Good grief. It seemed that the biggest departments were food, carpeting, books, toys (a lot of toys, and housewares). They sold clothing but mostly shirts on a few racks. I didn't intend on buying anything, just looking. I found a food processor, the exact one I bought from Walmart for a few bucks less than what I paid for it. It sucked at first but then you'd probably "get what you paid for" it because mine stopped working hahaha. I also saw a 4-qt. crockpot sold completely out for under $20. Had they had one I would've bought it then and there. I think the thing that tripped me out the most in there wasn't the merchandise, it was all the crazy Ollie signs all over the place. They were corny but they'll bring a smile to your face. Guess I'll need to look into signing up for Ollie's Army ;) read more

I originally heard of Ollie's when they put one in my old hometown up in North Carolina. So when we moved to Florida, we were surprised to see one right near our house! I didn't know that they were a chain retailer. They have some of the most insane deals on practically everything you can think of buying... Food, books, toys, personal care, outdoor sports, kitchen, rugs, and even clothing and furniture. It's a hit or miss when it comes to what all they have, but their prices are pretty low, and they have an amazing selection of items to browse. They have a whole area of the store in the back, dedicated solely to rugs, which is very impressive. The checkout lines are usually pretty long so be prepared to wait. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves a good bargain. In fact, who doesn't? read more

I checked out Ollie's a couple weeks ago. As others have said, it's kind of like a larger Big Lots. They have a large selection of books for cheap but I resisted because my bookshelf is already stuffed to the brim. Some stuff is a good deal, some stuff is junk, some stuff is overpriced. As with any discount store, know your prices. They have a decent sized food section with good discounts on certain things like Kashi bars and mixed nuts. Just make sure you check the expiration! I joined Ollie's Army reward club and was sent a 15% discount coupon. Which was great because my mom saw a rug she liked and the discount made it super affordable. The cashiers were friendly, the store was clean with slightly jumbled aisles from pallets being in the middle. Just be prepared to take some time to roam around. Hey hey hey. This place is pretty cool. Hard to describe because they have a little bit of everything. I came in for yard stuff, but walked around for about half an hour. The first thing I noticed was a library of books. Awesome!!! Glad to see that they are promoting reading. From there it escalates into a free for all of whatever you might be looking for. Yes, I can rummage through the items all day up and down each aisle. As this day I went looking for a beach umbrella they had on sale in their sales paper for $29.99 in which they had it! Win for me. I walked in the store about 12:40 and walked out about 2:50 hey I was browsing. They have a lot to see. I was in the book section for a minute they have a large selection of different topics to choose from. I dropped a book on my flip flopped foot , I wanted to yell a four letter ugly word but I didn't I bit my tongue and mumbled something under breath as I limped away. Found this discount store during it grand opening. It's similar to big lots with a deeper discount, there is something for everyone. The discounts are legit and the quality of stuff is good. There is always a line at the register just prepared to wait. Carts full of stuff and the counters do not have a conveyor belt so it's basket to counter. This place is awesome! I got a 16 pack of larabars for $8 which is an amazing deal because I know they are almost $2 for just one single bar at publix. I also got a big bag of almonds for only $2 which is a great deal. The expiration dates were all good and are good for a few months on the food I bought. I love this place!!! It's like big lots on steroids but with bigger and better things! They have so many cool finds that I am definitely looking forward to my next visit. The day before Halloween they already had Halloween stuff on an extra 75% off. They have great kids toys, household items and discounted food that is definitely not expired. I received a flyer in the mail, and my curiosity was piqued. One day later, I went to visit this place after reading some reviews. Ollie's claims to purchase unsold, excess inventory and salvage goods, and sell them at cheap prices. For me, it was not a pleasant shopping experience. The stuff they have looks exactly like unsold, excess inventory; meaning, it looks like it's a few decades old. Nothing caught my eye, and I'm used to shopping at outlets and bargain centers. Great store HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Kathy abosolutley ignored me not only after I Said hello once I got to her for her to ring me up at the register she blantanly ignored me to turn around and have a conversation with another associate she slang my items around like I was an inconvenience but what was the nail in the coffin is she completely ignored me outside of telling me my total which was cut short since she still continued the sidebar conversations.FYI KATHY| KATHERINE when a customer gets to your register acknowledge their presence I can understand if you weren't at the register but when I walked up you had a full blown conversation with the couple ahead of then when I say hello you ignore my presence just to sling my stuff around.You need a customer service | etiquette class. I think of the customer service here as the stereotypical McDonald's horrible customer service!!!!!!!! Id rather pay more where I'm actually acknowledged then here signed a paying customer that you lost business with. read more
