We were referred to the voucher program for a recliner and clothing assistance to help us through, but things were mishandled from the start. The initial paperwork was dropped by Olivia, and we never received the recliner. When I returned to the store to use the rest of the voucher, I was met with condescension and raised voices from the store manager, Lisa. When I explained that I felt disrespected, her response was "to me," disregarding how I felt entirely. She also said, "I don't understand why you're getting so emotional right now," which was incredibly insensitive given the circumstances -- though she didn't know about my medical issue, showing empathy shouldn't depend on that. She insisted she was no longer handling the issue with Olivia and that she was "doing it with her" (referring to herself), and told me I "should've called" -- as if I had the time or emotional capacity to navigate internal confusion during a medical crisis. This organization is supposed to lift people up when they're struggling. Instead, I was made to feel like a burden. I truly hope leadership at St. Vincent de Paul reevaluates how store management treats people in vulnerable situations.

I found the store to be bright and uncluttered, with a nice selection of items in several areas. I didn't find any Halloween clearance that was to my liking unfortunately but did find a fall welcome mat that was quite cheap and a Christmas gift that was similarly inexpensive. Just a couple areas for improvement: No self-checkout option here, which would have come in handy as the line to checkout was fairly long this day. There were several people at Customer Service that did not have customers, though finally someone did come over to assist the two cashiers. Also, the cashier did not ask me for coupons and I didn't remember that there was a 20% off promotion going on at the time. While it likely would have been less than a dollar, I work too hard for my money to give it away!

Last night I received a voicemail from an employee informing me some Golden Girls items were back in stock and wanted to know if I had them and wanted them if I didn't. I stopped in tonight and was greeted by another employee by my name and informed me of the new Golden Girls items they ordered and were excited to show me when they came in. Again, I don't come here often but when I do I feel like more then a person that "just buys stuff". I am treated wonderfully. Thank you Steve and Liz and the rest of the staff for being you. I got a few things that have been great for our family that I really wanted to see in person rather than buying online, like that silicone plate that is attached to a mat that sticks to the table and has multiple food compartments. Wraps: I mean, is there ANYWHERE else in the area you'd want to go for a wrap? The staff is so helpful, you can try everything, it's perfect. Diapers: again, I just don't think there is anywhere in a two-hour radius I could go for the kind of passion and expertise about cloth diapers you can find here. I did not mention it was a coupon at all but the girl at the register answered rudely that what I was holding was not a coupon... which I never said it was. Anyway, and older woman next to her quickly jumped on as well and basically yelled at my boyfriend and I saying, "THAT IS NOT A COUPON." Again not even letting us speak, she just kept saying how we stole their sign and mumbling stuff under her breath. I was asking if I can pile the 20% discount on the wall and the discounts already applied at checkout. My mistake was saying "coupon" instead of "discounts" but they never let me explain. Just rude.
