We stopped by yesterday to snag a few items so my daughter can make her own cat mask. We found most everything except a particular color of fur she was looking for. We were about to head out when we stumbled upon a candle sale. They are normally $10 each, but yesterday they were 3 for $10! Of course we impulse bought them because we need Christmas candles :) Once at the register with all of our items (the candles and items for the mask), they automatically scanned a 25% off coupon they had sitting by the register. We saved almost $15 that trip! The one thing I really love about michaels is that there's always an active coupon to use! If you don't have a physical one, then search Google and find a digital one. I have been here several times through the years. I have always had a good experience. You can find soo many things for crafts. They have a good size area for jewelry that you can custom make. Got T shirts to paint on too. Kids love that kind of thing. I will be back again and again for many things. read more

In a fairness I have been travelling the 20-30 minutes to this location, vs my local Michaels, for a couple years because the stock is better and staff was better trained to accept competitors coupons. That said, I had two birthday gift cards to use at Michaels that I had been saving up, both purchased at this location as well, on the same day by two dear friends. Sadly one did not work, but what offended me is when they said the card was obviously not a Michaels registered gift card and my only recourse was to call customer service and file a complaint. As you can see in the photo, I don't think this card could belong to any other store. Rather than admit they may have failed to properly register the card when purchased they went to crazy land and denied the card was theirs. read more

I love this Michael's. It's always clean and well stocked! And no masks required! I love that businesses are supporting our God given constitutional right to choose whether or not we wish to wear one. Especially for a disease with a 98% survival rate. I was shopping at the Michael's in Layton Utah... Noticed numerous customers without masks on and most alarming an older lady working there talking to an employee - no mask. I asked they said not required of employees or customers:(utAh 1,000+ new cases everyday. I will not shop in the store again. I was a little surprised because when I went to the website they were a series of questions about Covid safety that was recognized in the store or not noticed. I'm really surprised they ask these questions since they don't require it of their employees or of customers. read more

I am a creative person but I am not crafty and please don't go singing lyrics from the Beastie Boys. This being said, I typically hate craft stores. They are crowded with merchandise, people and kids. We happened to come in here because my companion wanted to look at yarn for the newly found hobby of crocheting. The only kind of crocheting or knitting I have ever tried is the finger kind and all that was good for was making a line of yarn to use on a Barbie as a "wrap". This store is fairly narrow and cramped. We went to the back and found the yarn and the kind my companion wanted was on an end cap with a big red sign with the price (it happened to be $3.00 off per roll so very reasonable). When we went to pay the cashier refused to believe the price as indicated on the end cap and sent another employee to go and verify what was said. Much to my chagrin, we waited and I finally walked to the back of the store where the yarn was to then direct the employee to where the kind of yarn being purchased was held and the end cap. She then reported to the cashier and by the time I walked back up to the register, there was no apology or acknowledgment so I told her she was simply rude and had a terrible attitude. As we left the store I told her she missed her calling and for being in Utah would be better off being a little more trusting. Terribly rude service and I would not go back. read more

This store has a good selection of craft items and some nice decorations that are renewed every season. They usually have everything in stock (crafting items), but it seems like for seasonal decorations they only order once, so buy them when you can. I slightly agree with the other review, their customer service is not always the best, but I've personally never had any problems with them. The rule of thumb when it comes to most retailers, is that if multiple items are incorrectly marked, then they have to give it to you for the marked price, unless the amount they will lose is excessive (probably anything more than 20 dollars). This is one of my favorit craft stores. They have 'grab bags' sometimes to get rid of clearance, for an insanely amazing deal. Also, go online to get special deals and coupons. They accept coupons on smart phones or you can print them off online. They also have a mobile app and Pinterest boards. I recommend if you like crafts and decorations. read more
