Not sure what happened to Hancock but I hope Jo-Ann intends to stick around for awhile. I have been to the Lawrence store twice. Both times I've been looking for specific items. The first time they didn't have or stock the items I needed but I still had an enjoyable shopping experience. During my second visit, they had the item I wanted and then some. This store is, oddly, arranged much like Hancock Fabric was arranged. The fabric notions are on the left side of the store and in the back of the store. There are rows of craft items displayed very similarly to the former Hancock displays. So it was very easy to navigate the store and find what I needed. Everything is nicely arranged and there were many shelves of sale items which I always appreciate! The lighting on some of the shelving is bright and cheery. I was in the bead section and the items were really illuminated. The clerks were very friendly and personable. I had a coupon on my cell phone but I had left my phone at home. The cashier gave me the discount anyway. I appreciated her help. The clerk on other visit was equally as friendly and helpful. She gave me coupons to use, as well. We talked about her sewing projects and she was very pleasant. Great store, friendly service, reasonable prices. I know I'll be back! I am glad to see them in Lawrence.

I usually piece things together to create something new so Joann's has become the place that I go for my creative crafty items. First off I don't like the location of this place because if you don't live in the area you'll never see it from the main road, however I can easily overcome that because when you walk inside the store is clean. the shelves are always fully stocked and what I love most about them is that they always have a sale on some thing. I have never gone in there and paid full price for anything. I catch a sale every time I shop there. The biggest complaint that I do have with them, is the staff is never at the front of the store to greet customers. If a thief wanted to steal something they could easily do it and go right outside the door as easily as they came in because there's no one there to watch. Now maybe because the store has security cameras the staff have convinced themselves that it doesn't matter if their presence be at the front of the store, But for customers it raises concern to see that you have to actually be standing at the registers ready to check out before someone comes to the front of the store. That is a very scary way to run your business. Other than that concern, I love shopping there. I love being able to find unique and creative patterns and fabrics and items that I can put together to create something entirely my own.

I'm a novice to sewing and she takes the time to explain some fabric basics to me. I love coming to this fabric shop. I always leave with some beautiful fabric. I spoke with Olathe Glass in late March to get a quote for custom shower glass. When the…read morecontractor completing the bath remodel had the tile installed, I contacted Olathe Glass to schedule an appointment for measuring. I was told someone would call me to schedule and was asked for and made a payment for 50% down on 9/8/22. No one called to schedule the measure appointment. I called back. On this call, I was told that the person I was speaking to had been out of the office the previous day (presumably to explain a lack of communication for the prior week?) and after that bit of derision directed at me for having the gall to call about this, we were able to schedule the measure appointment. The measure was completed - the person was in a HUGE hurry..... so questions were discouraged... I then did not hear back to schedule the actual installation (I know, surprising right?), so.... I called Olathe Glass. I was told the installation would be 10/11/22 between 8:30-10:00. At 8:15 the morning of 10/11 - yes 8:15 AM - I received a call telling me that the glass was not in and had been backordered. Apparently there was no way to know this prior to 15 minutes before the scheduled install. Weird. On this call, I was told that I would receive a call when more information was available to reschedule the installation. I received no additional information concerning estimated delay, etc.... until I received a call to reschedule the installation for 11/2/22. On this call, I was told that it would "probably" be in the afternoon. So, when I asked, to confirm, if it was possible that it would be morning because it didn't seem definitive, I was told, in a most derogatory tone "I apologize that I used the word 'probably'.... it will be in the afternoon." Wow. The installers showed up on 11/2 and did a really nice job. The installers themselves could not have been nicer. It is 11/3/22, the day after the installers were here. I see that Olathe Glass has charged the remaining 50% to my credit card without confirming with me that the job was done to my satisfaction etc... - so it appears that the thing that Olathe Glass does best is getting their money into their bank account FAST! So, long story short - if you can get through the administrative piece of this company, you will get a nice product, but prepare yourself for battle up front.

All their products were high quality and of course that came with higher prices. The store had up to 40% discounts on selected items. I liked few items in the store. But the size availability was limited. I could barely find S size. The items on sale barely had more than one or two sizes. The staff members at the store were very friendly. Multiple of them checked with me for assistance. Checkout lanes were moving quickly as well. Overall a really nice store.
