Worst Michael's store ever. The employees are rude & unhelpful. They had signs pasted all over their fine arts section that said the paints were bogo . When we got to the register, it rang up full price. When we mentioned it to the 2 employees there that were doing nothing, one of them begrudgingly went back to see the sign and said the sale didn't start for almost 2 weeks. They refused to honor that price. I'll order stuff online from Amazon before I ever walk back in that place. read more

Lack of communication is insane...... it's not that hard to change your (holiday hours" online so people don't waste time coming there. Every other location has their hours correctly so it's extremely unprofessional to have a green "open" knowing you are closed. Inconsiderate. read more

This place is dogs*it and so are their classless employees. I went to the self checkout line and I had an item that did not have a price tag on it. It had been ripped off as well as barcodes too small to scan at the counter. I waited in line to get some help and a girl told me that this line was for "returns only." It was the only cash register that had an employee behind it. There was another employee who was looming over another customer checking out. She turned around and asked him why he was standing over her. Basically you had one person on a cash register and two people telling customers pointing where they could go in the self-checkout line. When it was my turn to go to the cash register where the employee was, the other employee told me she had already told me once before this was "returns only." How disrespectful can that little c*nt be? Let me tell you.... I proceeded to ask the employee behind the register a question about my item that did not have a tag on it only to be interrupted again by this girl who felt it was her duty to let me know that it was "returns only." I told her that maybe she should stick to her job which is telling people which self-checkout lane to use instead of interjecting herself into something that isn't her business. She told me if I did not like it I could go shop someplace else. That's what we've come to folks with this millennial generation who stands around with thumbs up their ass while they're wearing the hair of five dead horses. I don't know about you, but I work six days a week and the last thing I want to do is somebody else's job. Maybe if they got their ass behind a register and helped people check out, the line wouldn't have been backed up a mile. You're essentially paying people to stand around and tell people which checkout lanes to use like they can't figure it out for themselves. This place will never get my business again and I suggest everybody who reads this goes and shops at a Hobby Lobby because Michael's is trash. read more

If you're a DYI person, Party planner, jewelry maker this is the perfect store! I love going into Michael's to get cool new arts and crafts materials. They are all of good quality and a great price. This visit I went for a few extra items to spice up my holiday party and I was satisfied. I couldn't stop going down the aisle looking through things to purchase just in case I need them lol! All your holiday needs in one spot. The kids and I decided sour the moment we wanted to put up our tree. I walked in with a budget in mind and a tree in my head. There were so many options my budget went out the window. The store was stocked well and pretty organized. Anything I needed help finding, the staff was already prepared with the answer. The line to check out was long but it moved really fast. Now back to this budget I threw out the window. I got to the register and all Christmas things were half off. Pretty nice Michael's! I'd say it's comparable to just about every other Michael's that I've been to. I stopped in today looking for miniatures for a D&D campaign that I'm about to be a DM for. Do not go to this location unless you know what you need and you can just go to and leave. The employees at this location are very rude and have an attitude problem except for the two guys who work at the register. Just coming in the store to shop is hard for some people. This happens to be my favorite Michaels location in Memphis and the one I frequent when in need of crafty things. I recently started making cake pops in a very early attempt to perfect a certain creation for my son's first birthday party. I enjoy baking, it has always been very therapeutic for me for some unknown reason. I'm no expert by any means, and the staff here was very helpful in recommending different options for my cake pop creating. They have a huge selection of cake decorating items at this location. Was anyone else aware that Chef Duff of Charm City Cakes has his own line of at-home baking items? I wasn't, but this Michaels has half an aisle dedicated to his goofy face plastered upon box after box. When I was checking out, the gal gave me a calendar of their class schedule for cake decorating. I've been going back and forth in my head, and I actually think I might sign up to take a beginner class just for kicks. At $23 bucks, what's to lose? read more

I am normally a regular at this store but today was not a good visit. I placed an online order where one of my items, an orange metallic paint, was left out. When I called about it I was told by the associate that filled my online order that I never ordered 2 oranges. I asked her to recheck and was told they do not keep records of the orders and that they disappear once it has been picked up. I checked my email and informed the associate that I was charged for 2. The associate then informed me that they were probably out of it. Which was weird since she hadn't checked. I was put on hold and when the associate returned I was told I had only ordered a grey, orange, and gold. I never ordered a gold but I did order a white. When I told her this she said I dont know but you can just come get the orange, in a tone that made it sound like I had made it up. When I went to get it there wasnt an apology but a "you are good to go now". This is why Amazon is winning. read more

This is my location of choice for this business. I'm always able to find what I'm looking for and what I love most is that during the holiday season there are typically good sales on the seasonal items- no waiting until after the holidays for stocking up on holiday craft items. On my most recent visit I was looking for something very specific, a loaf mold for soap making. I'd been to several other stores looking for the item but had no luck. On a whim I decided to give Michael's a try before giving up. I asked an employee and she told me exactly where I could find what I was looking for- she told me the section for soap making was very small but should have what l'd described. To my surprise and delight, they had several in stock! Now I know where I can go for materials to support my latest hobby. Got in a typical long holiday check out line but didn't have much of a wait at all. Good stock and good customer service = 5 stars. read more

Eh...it's a Michael's. The store is jam-packed with stuff, but I don't think I've ever actually found what I was looking for here. My last trip, a week before Christmas, was typical. My boyfriend and I roamed around, eventually settled on a spool of red ribbon in lieu of what we really wanted but couldn't find, and then joined the mile-long line waiting to check out. The line was actually moving along nicely when a manager told everyone to step out of the single line and just pick a register to get in line for. Of course, I ended up behind the guy trying to return something without a tag or receipt (don't they have a separate counter for that stuff?), who was haranguing the cashier and telling her that he had called and someone had said it was ok, blah blah blah. She eventually gave in and refunded his five bucks, so that I could buy my fifty-five cents worth of ribbon. So yeah, I'm not exactly in a hurry to come back here. read more

i like michaels, and i like what it has to offer, but this location is just so slow. i understand that this is the closest one to the western half of memphis, but they need more check out lanes open! (or maybe its the time of day i go there?) its not bad in general; it has the normal stuff that all arts and crafts stores offer. They also always get their themed decor out early (its august and halloween stuff is already out). Make sure you rummage through the bins on the outside of the store for steals and deals! they put clearance stuff out there. read more

Love coming to this location. The store itself is pretty big and always stocked with merchandise. The shelves are rarely empty or messy. The staff are pretty friendly and always eager to help. The one thing that I find annoying is that it always takes forever to check out. There are only 2 people working the registers on most days, and for some reason, there are always issues with the pricing of items or with computer errors, so I've had to wait way longer than necessary every time I've been here. And that's not during any special holiday season (usually stuck in line for ages during those). read more
