Let me tell you what. I've never been somewhere so nice, helpful and friendly. I got to my hotel and was getting ready for a wedding then realized I didn't bring my suit or shirt or pants or anything. I went here 30 minutes before the wedding started and boy oh boy did they help me out. Literally saved my life. Got everything I needed and they made all the adjustments in under 15 minutes. Also not to mention great quality stuff. I look fly as heck now thanks to them. If it wasn't for their help I would've showed up to the wedding in a bathing suit and Hawaiian shirt. read more

Michael was a joy to deal with...A gentleman and a professional. I was visiting my wife in Florida and unfortunately my Father passed away. I did not have time to travel to VA to get my suit. I do not recommend getting a suit from this establishment, my friend is getting married in february and someone had recommended michael's as a good option for a suit. my friend is a girl who likes to wear suits this is 2021 the tailor at this establishment completely insulated my friend letting her know That they don't have suits for woman and they don't really do that there , this man proceeded to say he doesn't want to give my friends bad luck whatever that means I don't know , but also he asks "a dress or a suit?" We brought a suit jacket and a dress on last Thursday for some simple alterations. I wanted my dress to have a cuffed hem and my husband needed his suit sleeves hemmed and his buttons tightened. They offered to sew a small hole in my dress as well. Normally I would just do my own alterations but we were pressed for time as it was the holidays and we had a wedding to go to right after. We picked up our garments yesterday (we had to leave today for wedding) and the sleeves were done and that was it. My sleeves weren't even done that well honestly. The hole still remains in my dress and my husbands buttons are still loose. We paid $50 plus a $10 tip and I am a little disappointed as my husband usually frequents this establishment and I expected better. From now on we will go someplace different. Can I give minus stars? Took a brand new expensive formal dress there to have it hemmed. Oh, Don't even try to do something different to your dress, they don't want to anything but a hem. I came back to try it on and it had spots all over it. I was told to come back in 2 days so that they could take it to the cleaners to have it spot cleaned. I came back after the owner was rude to me and made me wait 20 mins he finally told me that my seamstress wasn't back and to come back at 3. I came back at 4. I waited again until owner finally told me I could go back. I asked my seamstress if he got the stains out. He jumped up and went running of the door. I waited another 10 mins. He came back in and said ummm we have a problem. They got 2 spots off the front but many more were added including one big one on my butt. There was a serious pull in the fabric a crossed the whole front and side of the dress, plus loose sequins. He tried something with baby powder and steam to try to get the one off my butt. As I'm standing there crying, the owner walked up and said that he couldn't see anything. I told him I have cataracts right now and I can't hardly see anything but I can see those. That I should just wear it that no one would know. IT"S A BRAND NEW DRESS!! I asked my seamstress if he paid a $1,000 for a suit that had been altered and came back like this would he wear it? He asked me to give him until Tuesday to try to fix it that my bodice couldn't be dry cleaned, this was last Friday. I walk in today Tuesday and my seamstress isn't there. He'd not been back since Friday when I left. So, my dress sat all this time untouched. I asked for my money back so that I could just get a new dress and have time to have it hemmed somewhere else. I am getting very stressed out over all of this and that I am running out of time. I asked 2 times. I'm tired of dealing with this from a brand new dress. They ruined it. This was my 4th time to come to see the dress without a fix. I was told to come back again tomorrow. As I sat in the parking lot texting my husband I see a guy come out of the store with my dress in his bare hands (not the protective bag I purchased to keep it safe). I went back in to find out why he's man handling my dress and maybe that's where all of the stains keep coming from. They said he was the cleaners and the he knew what he was doing. I repeated what my seamstress told me on Friday that the dress bodice could not be dry cleaned that it would ruin the sequins and bead work. The owner said He know's what he's doing.. Really?? This is the same cleaners that added more stains, added a pull into my material, and screwed up my sequins. I just want my money back before it's too late to do anything about this. They ruined my dress. I've been back several times.. over the last couple of weeks without it being fixed and it keeps just getting worse. I'm stressed, upset.. I just want it all to be rectified so that I can have time to find and get another dress without STAINS, PULLS, and Sequins messed up.. and have time to hem it. I do not think that is too much to ask since I've been pretty damn patient with all of these screw ups with my dress. I don't feel it's unreasonable to ask at this point of giving them more than enough chances to fix it to ask for them to pay for my dress and the alterations money I paid so that I can go find something else before it's too late. I Won't use again. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! They hemmed a dress for me. The 1st time I wore it, the hem pulled out. Not even caught on anything .They didn't finish up the end correctly. I took it back and showed them, and I paid a high price for hemming. They acted like they had never seen it a week before. Luckily, I had their receipt & showed them. Not 1 word of being sorry. Great store! Went in for a new dress shirt and was amazed at Michael's knowledge. Not the cheapest place but the dress shirts weren't that much more expensive than a high end department store AND you won't get the same level of service anywhere. I brought in a pair of pants that needed tailoring, hoping for but not expecting a 24 hour turn around, and he did it for free with the purchase of the shirt and did it while I tried on the shirt. Just got back my alterations and they shortened the sleeves on my shirts to an unimaginable degree. Wouldn't recommend this service.

I had purchased a very nice Hickey Freeman $1000 suit and needed to have some minor alterations. Not knowing any good tailors in town.. I selected Michaels because they sold nice suits and it was advertised that the owner was a tailor by trade. I had them add a cuff to the pants and finish the sleeves on the jacket (attach the 4 buttons on each sleeve... just attach.. no button holes). The sewing on the pants for the cuff was awful. The buttons on the sleeves were all messed up and I had to get them redone. They didn't even put them on in a nice straight even line... they were all crooked The only good thing I have to say is that the alterations were inexpensive. Never again! I am not sure the sloppy tailoring was done because I did not purchase the suit there or not. However... after this experience I will not be going there for any alterations in the future. read more
