    Beautiful balloons.

Michael creates stunning balloons for my daughter's birthday celebration. Unlike Safeway, where the selection was limited and overpriced, Michael offered an impressive variety at reasonable prices. The service was excellent, with friendly ladies who inflated the balloons for me. Highly recommended!

I come here once in a while for paper craft products, decorations, boxes, and project supplies in which I may need specific material, colors, or sizes that I can't find at other stores. I recently got some cardstock, alphabet and number stickers, and more for a recent project I was working on this weekend... I even found rare andes mint chocolate bars, which I've never seen before, got me a couple on my way out. In fact, they have several funny themed candies and mints, great stocking stuffer types of gifts. The products I purchased were great, but I didn't need all of the items. So I came back a couple days later, and had no problems processing a return and refund transaction. Service is slow here at the registers, regardless of whether it's a weekend or a Monday, but they have self-checkout kiosks as well. Unfortunately, if you're returning items, you're stuck waiting. Staff is friendly though.

This is the best location I've visited hands down! This location has more inventory than i'm used to. There were a great deal of items that were on clearance as well! The t shirt section was STOCKED! They even have colors I've never seen in stores. I've become so accustomed to empty shelves at this point. This location is what other Michael's should strive to be.

I like Michaels, especially this location! The service is nice and helpful. They carry and stock a lot of items and are neatly organized! They have seasonal items which are always cool!

This Michaels in Milpitas is a better location to shop at in my opinion. The Coleman location is also great place, but this one is less congested and my recent experience the associates were more upbeat (maybe because there's less store traffic). I went in for one thing, but ended up getting faux, flickering candles with a timer. This candle type has been in the market for awhile and not sure why I did not check these out sooner! I'm impressed so far with how it creates that warm ambiance most of us desire. Price point is decent considering I've seen these candles at the higher end home stores. And, most importantly, it's safer than regular candles... peace of mind. Just got the wax melts in the background and I'm good! Glad I found these at Michaels in Milpitas.

I had placed an order online and to be picked up. I was not able to pick it up and I extended via their website. However, I wasn't able to pick up my orders despite the extension due to self quarantine. I called up the manager and explained my situation, he was very friendly and was able to extend my pick up window and left a note on my order to left their staff know not to rerun my order. I thought this is very nice that they were able to make the accommodation. Besides their friendly staff, the store is clean and organized. It's almost February, they still have Christmas staffs on clearance... Most of the time when I visited in the past, they are not very busy... I hope they don't close down this location.

A great place for anyone pursuing arts or crafts! Every time I've visited, there's always a short line and lots of products in stock. I generally go here for art markers, sketchbooks, and heat transfer stickers/vinyl. There's a huge variety of items that I never knew I needed and I always walk out with more items than I anticipated buying. They also have coupons on their website that you can use in-store, which is handy. It's a bit far from where I live but it's a great place to stop by if you're in need of arts and craft supplies!

New Michael's location alert and I'm in LOVE!! I arrived to the old establishment and was super bummed to see that my favorite craft store had "gone out of business". Little did I know, the business simply moved into a different building [still within the McCarthy Ranch Shopping Center]. The store in itself seems a bit smaller than the last imo but the cleanliness, brightness, and organization aspect is out of this world. Parking should not and will not be an issue- It's flippin' MASSIVE. Everything I needed and wanted was available at my fingertips. There wasn't any customer service going on from the employees but I enjoy wandering at my own pace and exploring each aisle. This place is a craft lovers dream and you are sure find what you are searching for. I came, I saw, I left happy. The End.

They let me stick around even though I hadn't signed up, so I just took pictures of the process. For the tufting session, you pick a flat image of what you want to make ahead of time. The instructor then will give advice on how to go about putting together your creation. After that, you link the image to the projector and it projects onto your canvas. You then outline the image. Then comes the fun part: the tufting tutorial. The instructor spends about thirty minutes teaching everyone how to use the tufting gun and then has each person practice on a large canvas. After that, you pick your yarn color and tuft away! Apparently, it took four hours for my friends to complete their tufted rugs, but they turned out so cute! They even stayed open past closing hours to let my friends finish. We need more artistic spaces like this.

I decided to give it a second try for my boyfriend's birthday, and this experience was WAY better. Lucy did a great job at thoroughly explaining technique and was so patient with us. We were originally scheduled for 6 hours, but she went above and beyond and let us finish up past the 11pm closing time. We made a large frame (36"x36") for $168. The estimated time was 6 hours, but it ended up taking us 7.5 hours. They have so many different yarn colors. The tufting gun did take some practice, but we were able to get the hang of it pretty quickly (good for beginners). I definitely think we got our moneys worth. It is very tiring and will likely take you longer than you expect, so I would treat this as an all-day event. The booking process worried me a little as they texted me a couple of hours after I booked saying that they might have to reschedule/cancel my appointment if another party didn't book during the same time slot. I didn't receive an update for about 2 days and was about to book with another company, but luckily I was able to move things around and book a time slot that others had also booked.

I used to knit a lot, but lost interest a couple years ago, and recently decided to try and get back in to it. When I arrived at Fillory I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help with anything. I asked for a simple pattern to help ease me back into knitting. The staff member (maybe the owner?) guided me to a table covered in free patterns they were giving away for LYS day and said I should pick one and then they would help me find the right yarn for the pattern. I picked what I hope is an easy shawl pattern and then another staff member led me to the appropriate yarn section. There were so many choices of beautiful yarn I had a hard time deciding. I finally settled on a skein of Malabrigo in variegated shades of blue. I didn't see the needles I needed for the project, but it turned out they had them behind the counter. It was so convenient to be able to buy everything I needed at once. To top it off, they offered to wind my skein right then and there. Usually yarn shops don't offer this service on special days like today when the shop is crowded with customers. Fillory has been around for many years through several owners. They have a large selection of yarn and helpful employees who work hard. There is also a dedicated space for social knitting if you want to drop by to knit with others. Multiple said hi and welcomed me in, asking if they could do anything for me or if I needed any assistance. I've only recently begun to get into knitting and I loved their social knitting table! More stores should have that. I live in SF and I suppose SJ stores have more space for that. There were multiple people sitting and knitting and chatting. I also appreciated their sale section! I didn't buy anything from that section, but considered it. I also got a 5% off discount off my first purchase for joining their loyalty program. Everyone was so very helpful and friendly, quite a few employees and they all asked if I needed help. I loved their examples of items that were made with yarns they sold. They have an extensive collection and variety across types of yarn, materials, yarns for different items, books, accessories, and items across different price points--there is something for everyone and anyone, which makes sense. Fiber arts are political and I've been very impressed at how stores and fiber arts communities are welcoming everyone of all backgrounds into the fold. I'm disappointed but not surprised that some Yelp reviews reflect people who don't appreciate that inclusivity.
