A new location for the chain, down by the airport where a bunch of new stores are going in. Since it is new and a part of new construction as well, it's spotless. They are well stocked and have a good size store overall. As is normal for this chain, help is hard to find outside of the frames and at the registers. But if you know what you want you should be fine. Their seasonal items are always great and this location lives up to that as well. Overall: A New, clean, well organized addition to the chain.

My friend and I are trying to motivate each other to take more steps each day (we each have one of those electronic fitness trackers). So, if she gets 5,000 for 7 days straight she gets washi tape and if I do the same, I get cheese (yes, cheese - I like cheese and am an odd bird). My friend met her goal and so I ventured out to Michaels for her washi tape. For those of you (like myself, pre-fitness deal with my friend) who don't know what washi tape is, it's a small roll of decorative tape used to decorate scrapbooks, planners, etc. Michaels is a large craft store (a chain) and this one is located in a fairly new shopping plaza near the Orlando International Airport. No one greeted me (which is odd since most businesses make it protocol for their employees to greet customers upon entering the store) and all employees that I saw did not make eye contact (with any customer) or smile or offer to help locate an item. They seemed busy-ish (but not so much so) moving around items on shelves or walking quickly to the back on some unknown mission (or maybe they had to pee - who knows). I had never bought washi tape, so I spent some time having to hunt for this and some help would be greatly appreciated. I finally found the elusive washi tape, I had to wait in line for a while (I've experienced this in other craft stores as well, so maybe it's just the way it is) and the cashier was just "meh" - no personality shining through, no smile, but got the job done. Now, I do want to point out some positive aspects of Michaels. They send out coupons if you get on their mailing list and they also honor coupons from that other one name craft store. They also do a good job with signage throughout the store informing customers of sales and special deals going on. So, although my experience was less than stellar, I do recognize that there are some things that Michaels does right.

This is a brand-new Michaels located near Orlando international airport. This store is absolutely massive. When it comes to crafts, if Michaels does not have it, then they don't make it. On my visit that day I found the store immaculately clean. The store is very well laid out. All of the employees that I encountered that day were very professional, and very friendly. Truly a wonderful store in a fabulous location, that will probably experience some phenomenal growth in the near future. When in the area, stop by and give Michaels a try.

Before moving to Lee Vista the closest Michaels to me was Waterford Lakes and the employees at that location were very unpleasure and always gave me a hard time using a coupon.

This red beauty is a beginner's RC helicopter. I call her Red Fandango :) You walk in and you can't get your eyes off the remote control model planes that are hanging from the ceiling. I was really taken back by the amount of model aircrafts Bob carries. From state of the art jets to war plane replicas, they have hobbies to meet every budget. My heli was about $49 and my boyfriend purchased a higher-end for about $129. A week later, we're still flying our toys just about every day for kicks. The best experience was their customer service. David and the rest of the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell this is their hobby as well since they take time to answer every question and provide a wealth of information. I had zero knowledge and didn't want to spend too much and David pointed out the perfect beginner's heli. When it's time to upgrade, I will definitely give them my business again.

When someone walks into the store and it's clearly interested in buying the higher items. The least the shop person can do is provide them with a little bit of attention. This shows that the shop is interested in cultivating sales with real collectors. Unfortunately, after many visits, on my last visit. My interest in a higher an item was put to the side while another collector received attention. I stood and waited patiently for the shop person and the other collector to conclude. However, afterwards, the shot person just kind of walked away, and I had to chase him down. This after I already expressed an interest in one of the higher items. My time was limited and it got all used up with me standing on the sidelines, waiting to talk to the shop owner about an item I wanted to buy. It wouldn't have been so bad if the shop owner would've said just one moment I'm gonna be right with you. But there was no communication I felt like I wasn't valued. And that really kind of put me off because I drive out of my way to go to this shop. In any event, I don't know if I'll ever go back again. I spoke with another friend of mine and he kind of had a similar experience at this shop. It's like the owner kind of just doesn't care about sales or something. I don't know. If he doesn't care then why should I? I guess that's kind of where I'm at right now. But I cared enough to write this review. So you have to make up your mind if this is a place you want to visit or not. Good customer service services when you make each person feel special especially in a shop like this that revolves around nostalgia. It's not about just obtaining the item. The whole experience is a part of a magic. And if the owner isn't really invested in cultivating that then I don't know I guess the business might be on borrowed time.

When I was on the phone with the customer serivce representative he did not give me an assertive answer on if they take trade toys for cash. Instead his answer was "I only collect toys that are like in the box". After having that uncooperative call I decided to drive down there the next day. When I arrived the customer service representative told me the wholesaler will be with you in a few minutes. While I was waiting I had to go to the bathroom. I asked this customer serivce representative where the bathroom was. His reponse was "he( the wholesaler) will be with you in a few minutes". After not getting a reponse from him I decided to go back to the warehouse section since the bathroom is apparetly not in the shop area. Once I went back there he said "don't go back to the warehouse". I then said "I have to go to the bathroom". He then responded "we don't have one open to the public". After that he told me the wholesaler is not here and pointed at me to leave. WTF they don't a have bathroom for the general public? What are people who have small bladders or take laxatives(I don't take them) that are kickin in suppose to do? After leaving the store I then go to the place nextdoor, which is a place a male would only walk into if he is being accompanied by his girlfriend or getting her a dress. I thought about asking the receptionist how often people come in here just to use the bathroom, but I instead just proceeded to the bathroom without asking her that question. If you are a geek for toys you probably would like this place very much. For that reason I am giving this place one star, but the customer service zero stars. Oh! And thank goodness I was not in the mood to be a male karen there.
