This store has gone down hill. It is absolutely filthy and unorganized. So sad as I used to love shopping there

This Michael's has the worst customer service ever. They don't answer your phone calls and they don't know how to locate a package. They send you to the carrier but the carrier has nothing to do with orders from their store. They're just that middle man. It's ridiculous! I don't recommend this Michael's at all. It's not what it used to be. A lot of things are not but this place just really doesn't even deserve anything more than one star. read more

For Mom's, I found the pumpkin cookie cutters. I found baskets for holding candy canes at holiday time the baskets were advertised selection was good. They also had the buckets for Halloween and a great deal of holiday ornaments, Home Christmas wreaths and holiday ornaments and decorations. I highly recommend this place this season. read more

Ok, so it's my birthday today. My daughter and i came to the store to buy acrylic boxes for my Football paraphernalia. I was planing on buying 7 boxes at $69.99 per box. Is it really about the money? When people come here to voice their concerns I would say 90% of the time it's about horrible customer service. So I found the product I wanted, while my daughter continued to shop. I made my way to the register where I met up with my daughter. We found a young lady working the register at 6:21pm. Her demeanor was that of a sloth. No emotion slow moving and had trouble comprehending basic question. She seemed distracted and would not respond. Reminded me of an individual under some kind of medication. I asked if any more product was in the back storage room. It took me to ask her twice before she then asked I'm sorry what did you say? REALLY! My daughter noticed my frustration and then she asked if they had any other coloring books. She pointed in a general direction, and said. Everything we got is over there. Now, even though I had also asked about buying the one that was in stock and ordering the others and I would pay for them at the store. She said I don't know. She then stood there as she charged me for my product. She told me what my total was then stood there again just staring at me. So I stood there and looked at her thinking that she was going to ask about the other 6 acrylic boxes. She looked at me like, hello are you going to pay look. I then asked her are you going to find out if I can buy the one in store and then order and pay for the other 6. She grabbed her hand held store issued device and proceeded to what appears to me summons another employee or a manager. I even told her to go ahead and charge the customers behind, being considerate of others time. I stood aside and 3 customers later I leaned over and asked her. Is someone coming to help me? She said, oh ok one minute. She then grabbed her hand held device and punched some keys. Here I am thinking she is calling for someone again. So here we go again. One customer after another (3). I am now annoyed and now I raise my voice and ask her. Is any one going to come or not, I've been waiting for a while now. (6:38pm) she then made some remarks into her mic and ear piece. I then made a comment and said is that all you had to do to call for help!! She then whispered something into the mic, I was not able to hear what she said. What I do know is this, her manager on shift 12/18. Came in hot with an attitude. She was short and cut me off not allowing me to try and make this transaction. I asked as she approached seems you have a sale on these acrylic boxes. I didn't even finish my full thought when she interrupted and then made a rude sarcastic remark. Waaas that your question!??. At this moment I had had enough I dropped what was in my hand, which it was a smaller acrylic box on top of the larger one. I then said to her, the customer service in this f***ken store sucks. I had all I was going to take from these 2. I left the store instead of verbally engaging her right there and then. I called back in to complain to a manager and unfortunately she was the only one on shift. I asked for a store manager and she claimed ahead of time had left for the day. Now being a it more relaxed I told her that she and her employee had horrible customer service skill and if they did not like working retail that they should leave. The client base that goes to Michael's is you not theirs to treat them with disrespect and horrible customer service. This could be and is a reflection of the store manager. At the end of the day the store manager is held liable for the employees that, she or he hires. I'm guessing you would not be supplied to hear that she didn't not care whether or not I would come back in to the store in person to speak to the store manager. The attitude was non Shallotte with a dash of who gives a sh**, you know the typical nasty attitude that a lot but not all young employees normally take when a responsible older manager not being at the helm. I was highly disappointed. I need resolution on this matter. I need those 2 be reprimanded and corrected. Not fired by no means. But definitely reprimanded read more

I love the interaction between management and employees! Their friendly banter is refreshing. The store is clean, well organized and has a plethora craft items, home decor, frames and more! The employees will actually walk you to the aisle and show you the product you've inquired about. Great store, good, plentiful products, nice folks! read more

Tell me why I'm waiting so long? One checker, 10 deep. Two checker, 20 deep! They called for more help that never arrived. The third employee I saw was up front by the registers sorting go backs. (management ?) My wife waited in line while I watched from the side door for more than 15 min. The Marina store never makes this mistake. Just Salinas (more than once ). This is a big Michaels store and for a parent and a kid interested in arts and crafts, this is almost like candy land for us. Shopped for some canvas, colors and some interesting hobby and game supplies for the summer. Everything is clear and smooth. Only ask is for them to have Apple Pay and contactless payments given the other pandemic precautions they have taken. read more

Went in for the Modern Mobile Chest, so I went in store to check if they had some in stock, they had some by the cashier register section. As a disabled person with an injured back, I asked the employee if there's any way I can get help to put it in my car or carry it for me. She said no and then she said "i don't even think they are THAT heavy" read more

Went in to look around for some art supplies and ended up having to use the restroom. I went up to the counter and talked to an employee who was not wearing a nametag, who wasn't helping anyone but did need to take what was probably an online order outside. I asked if she could unlock the restroom for me and she said that she would send someone back to do it since she needed to go outside. I said okay and waited. After 10 minutes, I walk back to the front of the store and wait around for an employee. After another 5 minutes or so, the same nameless employee walks back in, avoiding eye contact, so I ask again if she can unlock the bathroom. She says "Well this is why I told you to wait, I had other things to do outside." Why she couldnt have given me the passcode for the bathroom, unlocked it before she went outside, or asked a different employee to do it, I will never know. Either way, an extremely rude employee. I work in customer service too, so I get it, but this was kind of important. Not to mention, when I entered the bathroom, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a decade. read more

First time in here since I moved to Salinas last year. My experience was good. Lady allowed my boyfriend and I into the store 3 minutes before closing time. Usually some other stores would say 'we're closing' and turn you away. We're doing some projects for one of our kids, and we got 2 spray paint for $6-$7! That's 60% OFF on each. :) I definitely signed up for their reward program (personal use) and signed up for their business tax exempt program (for my business) - I'm hoping it gets approve so I could shop here more often. read more

Came to this michaels, found a neat little zombie set in the clearance isle. During purchase I notice there was no discount on the clearance item. I spoke to the cashier and another customer service person and they said it wasn't on clearance...but the sticker on the box said "clearance" and original price was $35.00. Seeing that it's a clearance item and clearance was 75% off the original price I should've received a discount WTH. What kind of sketchy stuff is going on at this michaels location ? Bathroom policy is ridiculous. "I can't give you the code" okay? What are you the damn bathroom police? Must be really annoying to keep sending employees to the back just to open the bathroom door. I had a great experience here. One of my 2016 goals is to brush up on my creativity, so Michael's was the perfect store. I found a cute photo book along with some cute little planning books. I found a pink mason jar with a straw for my morning smoothies. They have lots of items for your home, crafts, etc. Birdhouses, fake flowers, t-shirt decorating kits, beads, stamps, and so many more fun items. Staff was super helpful. The only thing I didn't find was a world map... Oh well. read more

PLEASE PLEASE do not buy these two things from here for your planner. They smear and do not stamp correctly. My one star is for their dumb return policy WHICH IS BASICALLY not a return policy. Even tho I did not use one of the items but I did open it to get a clearer view I can't return them after spend $20 on piece of work items. I tried to explain that the stamp ink just smears everywhere and the stamps don't even stamp! and the lady I talked to was rude. You're better off buying items from a place like target or Walmart where you can ACTUALLY return them if they are crap. read more

I tried Micheals' "pick up" option once, it was really quick and it went really well! But, I tried doing another pick up order the next day and after 3 hours it still said "preparing"... I ended up cancelling that order. Today, I ordered a small roll of floral tape for "same day delivery" and am STILL waiting a long time for it to get delivered.. I'm so disappointed with the staff, I highly recommend ordering materials from elsewhere. read more

Love this store for all my needs, very clean and well organized. Usually it is just a few people on duty every time I've stopped in, so be ready to search the aisles for your item and wait in a long line. The check out is very slow, cashiers are nice and helpful with the electronic coupons but it really just takes a lot of time, Usually only one cashier. Close parking and easy access to the store. They are hiring for the holidays so hopefully it helps. ;) read more

I never pay regular price for anything here! I really love this craft store, especially during the holidays. They have great sales on items almost all the time. The customer service is always great. The lines can be a bit long so I would suggest going early in the morning. Always look online for coupons as they usually have a 40-60% any item. read more

Wow, my first time here to the new Michael's on Main street. Seems like all the employees must be new as it was difficult to have them answer my questions of tell me where materials were. When I got to the register there wereeight people in line 5 employees behind the cash register all conversing about some problem with only one register open. Finally got another one open but lots of havoc going on between the employees. Not a lot of hellos goodbyes or thank you's. Maybe they were having a bad day. This store does not honor the sale signs they have hanging even after the cashier went and read the sign. Sign stated ALL bead supplies buy one get 1 50%off. Turns out that after calling a manager the sale only applied to RED beads. Will be going to Hobby Lobby in the future read more

I've been in this store a few times and have made purchases but when I was there the other day I noticed so many items were not priced. Not even a sign on a display. I looked around to see what might interest me to purchase but so many of the items I was considering were large items. I couldn't find anyone to ask either. I did take one item to the cashier when I was ready to check out and asked how much it was before she rang it up. I didn't purchase it. Ended up spending about two dollars total. They could have easily sold me at least $80. dollars worth of items. When I asked the cashier why so many items were not priced she said, "I guess they forgot" and then quickly, "Have a nice day!" Today I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. No matter when you come into this store the lines are long and slow! Today there was a gentleman restocking the candy bins in front of the registers, he saw that the checker was having problems with customer at the counter, so he called for another clerk when there were two people in front of me. Arianna, came out of the back room and opened up. She rang up my transaction and I told her I only had a hundred dollar bill, she said no problem she would call the manager. The manager, she said her name was Aubrey, came up after quite a long time, I guess we were bothering her, and the first thing she said was, I can't believe you took this today, you know the banks aren't open, she threw the money on the counter. The clerk said I just need forty dollars more to make change, I said to her you don't have to be so rude, she said I'm not talking to you ma'am, I'm talking to my employee. I said I'm standing right here, I can hear you. She was extremely rude, to not only me, but also to your employee. If I was asked to begin with I would have offered to use my credit card, but after Aubrey was so rude, I don't feel like I will ever shop at this store again. Marina is much better! read more

I needed to frame an enlarged (20 X 30) photo of my mother-in-law to be displayed during her memorial service. I have never had anything professionally framed before, so I knew virtually nothing about the process or how to choose what would look good and appropriate. The Framing Associate, Vanessa Amaro, (store #5052) was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in every way possible. She not only helped me with picking out the perfect frame, mat choices and colors, and suggestions for additional features, but also spent some time admiring my photo and asking questions about my beautiful deceased mother-in-law. I felt that along with her excellent professionalism and framing knowledge, she also took the time to give me real personal attention and care. I picked up the finished project today (two days earlier than estimated) and I was extremely impressed with the results. Our entire family will be able to admire the photo and Vanessa's work at the memorial. I asked her if she was the person who did the framing, and she said yes, she had done it. I will not only return to have her frame future projects of mine, but recommend Michael's framing (and Vanessa) to friends and family. read more
