My kids participated in the anime summer camp. I have two things I was disappointed about. My first…read moredisappointment was that I didn't know about it sooner. The second was that they don't keep the kids the whole day. My kids ages 11 and 6 truly and thoroughly enjoyed their time at camp. I think it was fun for my 11 year old bc she was around her "tribe" and the 6 year old enjoyed it bc he felt like he was cool enough to hang with the big kids. Both children were able to apply techniques they learned at the camp to improve their drawing skills. They enjoyed making buttons, perfecting their craft and they really enjoyed their teachers too. For the first time all summer they did not complain about this camp once. This was definitely money well spent. My 6 year old wears his shirt to school bc "he wants to support mosaic minds" I promise you nobody told him to do that - that's just how he rolls. They will be back next year- it's too far for us to make it during the school week but it is worth the drive.

Note to self: never go out to shop the day after Christmas again! Everyone was flooding the store trying to make returns/exchanges and probably just looking for last minute post-holiday deals as well as using gift cards they had received. I decided to go to this location for the first time, as I was already in the area. I usually go to the Peachtree Corners location and prefer that one, as it is usually dead even post-pandemic. In any case, everything seemed well-stocked. I found the wet and dry cat food I needed without any issue. When I made it to the self-checkout area I was redirected to the end of a huge line that was wrapping around to the end of the store. So if you wanted a cashier or to self-checkout it was all just one big line. I was almost ready to give up when I saw how many people were waiting, however, I am glad I didn't because the line actually moved a lot quicker than you would think. I spent about 15 minutes total from wait to checkout time to be out of the store. That's faster than waiting in the self-checkout line at Walmart Jimmy Carter or Walmart Duluth, I know that much. Those can take a good half hour sometimes. So I can't really complain I guess lol. It was an okay location, but I'm guessing because of the complex they are in and being right off a major intersection they are still usually this busy no matter what. I would come back if I had to, it's just a little out of my way and busier than I like, but overall not bad.

The staff is super helpful, and of course the fabric is beyond affordable -- usually $4 a yard or less. Last week I saw 54" wide rolls of block-printed African prints that would have cost oodles in a higher-end store. For $5 a yard. This is the place to go if you are willing to hunt, and if you don't confuse bare-bones displays for a lack of quality. There is always something different, as well, but make sure that you get enough of what you need, because most of the rolls are discontinued / remnants, and you likely won't find that roll again. Fabric World used to have more apparel fabrics, jumbled onto huge tables. During the first year of the pandemic I picked up serious quality cotton - -Robert Kaufmann -- for $3/yard. They aren't carrying the quilting cotton remnants any longer, unfortunately, and the cotton on bolts doesn't feel nearly as high quality. It's also oriented more towards kids' prints. If you are making clothes for rapidly growing kids, though, it's exactly what you'd need! There are a few tables of apparel fabrics left. I've gotten quality linen there, though the bulk is rayon / polyester / viscose / stretch fabrics. If you love fabrics and want to hunt ... this is your place! (Not to mention easy-peasy parking.)

I will now share my experience as a customer and human being at this location. I was extremely excited to find this location in a shopping plaza I often frequent, as a Hallmark member and lover of their products. The Stone mountain store that I had frequented for over 10 years had closed. I had a handful of Christmas gnomes that I was excited to find in the names of my children and family members. An associate walks up to me and takes the gnomes out of my hands and shares that she's going to put them on the counter in the front so that I can continue shopping. I thought this is great and I continue to my shopping. As I was making my way to the front to conclude my purchases of items that I purchased for my mother, who just came out of the hospital, and for my son who was going through a very trying time, I heard the same associate tell another associate how she took the things out of my hand and brought them to the front counter because I was a black woman with a big bag, and they laughed. She continued to say you know how they are with big bags. I took a moment to first, pray for God to give me strength, not to snap, as it would've been my go to, but I did not want to give them their stereotypical thinking of an angry black woman. I made my way to the counter, where this associate greeted me with kindness asked me if I found everything I was looking for, offered other items and looked up my membership ID information. I had to continue to pray in spirit for God to give me humility as the person that I am and as well as a diversity equality and inclusion manager and champion for my trillion dollar company, to continue to just be humble in that moment. In the past I have been known to fiercely speak my experience if I ever felt any racial profiling to the associate and any members of management immediately! I post this in hopes that not only the associate whose name I will not share, but her register ID is 312 as well as the owner Benas, who is a minority owner, takes this experience and trains her associates in diversity and inclusion, professionalism, and engagement! I will not frequent the store ever again, but I will continue to be a supporter of hallmark stores and hallmark products as a very appreciative Hallmark member.

Instead of just answering yes or no, she replied with attitude and said, "The world ain't going to treat her like you do, and she ain't going to die if you take the candy from her." Then after I finally took the candy from my fussy grandbaby, she picked up the handheld scanner attached to the register anyway. The whole interaction was rude and unnecessary. I didn't ask for parenting advice -- I asked a simple question that only required a yes or no answer. Sometimes people need to learn how to stay in their lane. Judge and raise your own children, not mine.

The owner is knowledgeable, personable, and a huge fan of art, and it shows in his work. I came in with an oversized art print (30x40) and an idea of how I wanted it framed. He gave me two ways of framing and quotes for art glass and regular glass--no pressure to buy, just giving us the information. I appreciate that he wanted to give us options that were in our budget. I chose a floating mat and maple frame with an inch border around, and the price was more than reasonable. He completed the framing in 3 business days (!) and even helped us carry it to the car. The most impressive thing is that Eric remembers every person's art piece, without even needing to look it up. It's a personal touch that I found remarkable, compared to other shops I've been to (which were prohibitively expensive). The shop does also showcase Eric's own work which is really cool! All in all, I would trust Eric with framing any keepsakes or cherished art that you may have.
