This location is awful. The checkout set up is bizarre. There is barely any room to move (it's all self checkout besides two registers that no one is ever at) and bc of the rack of stuff for sale right in front of the registers people are literally tripping over each other to check out. They also don't offer paper bags?? I was told I can buy I bag for .75. That's ridiculous. Their prices are already higher than they should be for the quality of the items. read more

horrible service, I was told I would get my mat ready in 30 min and when I come back to get it they had not even started. I'm 9 months pregnant and the girl at the desk told me 10 minutes and she would get it done, instead she started helping everyone else that was here trying to get things framed and had me wait another 30 min. never going back!!!! ended up telling me to come back a different day! such bad service read more

I'm a regular Michaels shopper and was in this store because I was in the area for other reasons. They had some knitting needle set I wanted (display) but it seemed priced a bit high so I asked if they price match to Amazon, and sure enough the manager told me they do. They didn't have the item in stock so he was really helpful in looking up stock at other stores and even calling them to double check. He really went out of his way to be helpful and did it with a smile the whole time. He was really pleasant and friendly. I ended up getting the set at the Medford store, but for sure I'll return to Stony Brook in the future to give them my business. They were superb! read more

So this place is ok. It's a hit or miss if they have stilted in stock. Most clean and friendly. They put in mostly def check outs so I will most likely be shopping else where. Sad to see but oh well. read more

This store is very clean and organized, everything is easy to find, if you can't find it I'm sure there will be plenty of employees around to help you out. I ALWAYS go online and download the coupons to use in store for every single purchase because most of the time I will get 40-50% off a single item! Stopped in here on Monday afternoon to pick up a few things for a craft I was working on. I had a hard time navigating the store at first since the layout is a little different then the one I am used to but I was able to find a staff member who helped me immediately. Once I was at the register, the cashier gave me a 50% coupon! What a steal, it made the whole trip even better, gotta love Michaels. read more

You see we are here today because she does fantastic cards .She has me traipsing up and down the isles picking out things for cards.I don't mind because she's really fantastic, and as you will see she does remarkable things with her talent. MICHAEL'S is a craft store that has everything in it.The Store is about 10,000 ft.² of everything that you can imagine, and if you are a crafter you will simply be amazed what they have to offer. We have been coming here for years now, and each time I come here it's like the very first time. I will take pictures to show you the isles and isles of things that they have and maybe you'll understand what I'm talking about. Here's the Scoop: I am heavily into crafts and making things by hand. So I'm here at Michael's to purchase posterboard to make a presentation board for making strides the cancer walk. Michaels has lots of great craft ideas and supplies for your creativity. sometimes they can be pricey but they have a lot of sales often and coupons. You have to get familiar with the layout of the store because sometimes help is hard to find. However when you do find sales help they are friendly and efficient. Cash is a very helpful I will try to find coupons or discounts to offset your cost. I enjoy shopping and browsing in the store even if I am not doing a project. Whenever you come up to the store it just get your creative juices going. So Yelper's if you're interested in craft items, or creating something for your home or friend or family member keep Michael's on your list. Also they have a fabulous wedding section which will help in creating favors, cards, bridal veils and anything a bride would need to definitely lower her course and planning for her wedding. read more

This review is for the Framing Department. Went there for a custom frame job ($200). I was told by "framer" that we would hear back when it's ready. Estimated date given on the receipt was Sunday, June 19. It's now July 14. It's going to a month! I have tried calling and I never get connected to the framing department. I just sit on hold forever. When I ask for a manager the same story. I don't live in the area so popping in is not really an option. I guess I will have to do it though. Incidentally, when we handed her our expensive artwork she just sort of rolled it up and put it aside on a random counter with the paper not even attached. We were hoping she would put it away but she did not. When we asked she just said don't worry about it. But I did worry. It could have (and maybe did) fallen, been grabbed by a child, misplaced, the paperwork could have fallen or been blown away. Better safe than sorry. read more

Really great store, it has lots of fun things and I was surprised, that they even have crystals you can make into necklaces and bracelets! It's near my job, so it's very convenient when I need a new sketchbook or other art supplies! I have a tip for other customers, employees wear red vests! Last time I shopped here, everyone thought I worked there..and I was wearing black!! No vest.... I don't understand the confusion, but just so you know! read more

I am glad this isn't my local Michael's. There was one particular type of craft I was looking for that they have an over abundance of at my local Michael's that I couldn't find here. It surprised me because this Michael's is definitely bigger. There was also an insane line and not enough cashiers to handle it on a busy Saturday afternoon. I was almost glad I couldn't find what I wanted so I didn't have to wait! I'll stick to the Michael's in Patchogue. read more

Overwhelming store highly unorganized and no one ever walking around or offering to help find something. How about a directory, a sign, a search function, a companion app, something? And cell service stinks so download the coupon before you even leave the house and screenshot it. Or ask the lady at the checkout nicely for her spare 40% coupon. read more

I love michaels there store is awesome and I love shopping there it's clean organized and neat but their prices are really super super high a bottle of slime solution is $10 and a bottle of glue is $4 at any other store you can get that for $5 not $14 I went to get slime supplies it was $60 for 2 bottles of glue I bottle of solution 3 containers fish bowl beads model magic and putty. I have not been very pleased lately with their services, they haven't had the Copic markers I wanted for the past few months. They never stock up and this isn't the first time I've gone home with little to nothing. I have gift cards to use and I need new Copic markers. Please stock them. I'm contacting Michaels email as well to get them stocked. Very displeased. read more
