I love shopping at Michael's, but I hate coming to this location. By far the Worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Worst Michaels location I've ever visited. I don't even know why they have employees because I couldn't get someone to help me locate and item for the life of me. They just kept sending me to different and wrong aisles and never once said let me show you. Customer service means something to me, therefore I will not be back. read more

It started last year when I went to purchase a couple of large shadow boxes for my sons' football jerseys. Their ad stated 25% off all shadow boxes. I find what I need but cashier says the ones I have are excluded. When I ask her definition of all she says, "all but these." I wanted them so I purchased. Yesterday I grab a couple of fine detail coloring books at $9.99 each. The sale states 2 for $5.00 (orig. $9.99/ea.) Cashier again says these are not part of the sale, only the "Michael's Exclusive" with the sticker. I point to the stickers. The cashier asks the manager and she says these books are not on sale. So, bait and switch is alive and well and I suggest you bring the store's display sale card with you to the cashier before purchasing. read more

I usually visit this store about once a week for my crafting needs! It's got a pretty good selection, and they usually always have some kind of coupon available. I prefer to shop closer to closing time, it's more relaxing to browse the aisles and the lines at the register are much shorter. The cashier Mariah is super sweet and always in a good mood, making me leave the store happy with my visit. Overall always have a great experience here. read more

As someone who loves crafting, coming into a Michaels store is typically a lot of fun for me. Not so on what will likely be my only visit here. I say this not because my experience was worthy of a 2-star review, but because I live in Fairfield and after visiting this one I'm far less impressed with this much newer location. I recently started work on crochet blanket that will be gifted to a family member later this year. Though the blanket is small, it requires 10 skeins of the yarn I'm using. On my trip to the Fairfield Michaels they only had 3 in stock and could only promise me the remaining 7 spread over 3 weeks of shipments. Yuck. I really didn't want to make three return visits for yarn; thankfully I was told that the color was in bountiful supply here. The lady helping me called this store and was placed on hold...FOREVER. She had to of been on hold for a good 8-10 minutes before I walked over and asked what as going on. "They put me on hold and forgot about me" she said referring to an employee at this location. When she finally got someone here to pick up and help her the person didn't know what the word 'skein' meant and had to have it explained (it's a ball of yarn). Whatever, I know skein isn't a word that comes up in a typical conversation -- y'know, unless you work at a craft store that sells yarn or something crazy like that... Anyway, they had enough in stock that I made the drive out here to buy what I needed and get it over with in one day. This location is tucked behind Buffalo Wild Wings and may be difficult to see from the street depending on your approach. Considering I very rarely shop in the Nut Tree Plaza I may have never known it was there had it not been for this visit. Upon entering the store looked clean with a layout much different than that of Fairfield. No need to navigate very far though as my skeins were on hold at the register. So off to the line I go where 2 people are waiting ahead of me. This is where things started to go down hill... The older woman with glasses who was working the cash register closest to the door appeared to be having a problem with a coupon as I entered the store. I can only speculate as to what may have been happening over there, but either she called for help and no one came OR she didn't notice the line of 15 people waiting to checkout that was gradually growing whilst she tried to figure out this coupon. Around 15 minutes after entering the line a customer ahead of me was on her cell phone talking about how she's going to be a while because of how long the line is. Just as she's saying something about it two grumpy looking female employees straggle up to the counter. Both of them say they'll take the next customer and the first customer goes to the register. As the cell phone lady has placed some bags from her previous shopping trips on the floor, it takes her a moment to gather them and begin walking up there. In the brief 3-5 seconds this woman took to gather her bags the younger of the two women to come assist said very rudely to her "Miss. I can help you RIGHT HERE." making a pointing motion with her hand towards the counter. Little bitta sass on you isn't there? When I finally got to talk to the other grumpy lady she didn't smile, say hello, thank me or anything. She did however, rapidly scan my skeins and get me out of there though. So that's good right? I'd never gone into the Vacaville Michaels location before today. Not even when it was on Helen Power Drive. My first impression of it wasn't terribly good today and unless I'm doing a project I want to knock out (and can't find the supplies at the Fairfield location) I don't see myself coming back here. The store itself is very nice and clean like I said, but it shouldn't take over 15 minutes for someone to either A) call for assistance with check out or B) answer that call for assistance. I am a frequent Michaels shopper. Just visited the Michaels in Vacaville and was astonished by the lack of customer service. i was looking for a particular Halloween craft and was told by three different associates "I don't know where they are, but if we had them, they would probably be located over there somewhere"..after they pointed in a general direction on the other side of the store. Very rude. I tried to make an exchange and they wouldn't allow me because even though the item was the same, the original price was lower. Save your time and patience and go to Fairfield. They have the better deals. For example 50% at Fairfield off and only 40% at Vacaville. read more

When my son & I walked in, I asked a staff to direct me to "kids' beginners sewing kits." It was an older woman who always seems grumpy whenever we visit this location. She said, abruptly, that I can find this item "in the far left corner of the store". When I told her "thank you" she walked away & ignored me. My son & I searched in the entire area & did not find the item. I wanted to ask an employee for help but I couldn't find one at all, even though we walked around that area numerous times in search of our item. I ended up checking online & found the exact aisle for the "kids' beginners sewing kit". It was actually located in aisle 75- on the total opposite of the store. As we picked the item off the shelf, which was very high & I couldn't reach it, I ended up stepping on the very bottom shelf & reached upright it. Again, no staff nearby to assist me. Afterwords, we continued to get the next item on our list- a zipper. We walked up and down the aisles to find an employee but STILL could not spot one. We ended up at framing, where there was a girl speaking to another customer. We waited for our turn, that same employee did not acknowledge us or at least inform us that she will be with us. We continued to wait. I finally had the chance to ask where the zippers were & she directed me to the "far left corner of the store". Well we walked over but there was a HUGE ladder blocking the area of the zippers section. We walked back over to the employee in the framing dept & asked if the ladder blocking the zippers can be moved, so that my son & I can browse & choose the right one for his project. She said she had to call a manager to move it. She spoke very rudely. We waited AGAIN for the "manager". We waited & waited. I walked back to look for the same female employee in the framing Dept, who was literally two aisles away from the ladder. I asked her if a manager is aware that we were waiting for the ladder to be removed & she said "he should be here, I can't move it." I was very frustrated that we had to wait. Finally, a tall thin male in a red Michael's shirt walked towards us. He wasn't friendly. I asked him if he was the manager & he replied "yes." I took this as an opportunity to tell him how the "employees here are very hard to locate for assistance." The "manager" replied, sarcastically & rudely "well we always have staff walking around." He then said to me "I saw you walking around" & I said to him "I didn't see you at all." The "manager" then replied to me, in a VERY RUDE TONS "that's because you guys were chatting." I was beyond upset at that comment. If this "manager" in fact saw my son & I walking through his store then WHY DISNT HE APPROACH US & ASK IF WE NEEDED HELP? We obviously were in search of specific items & walked up & down the same aisles several times. At this point, I just wanted to pay & get out of this store. When we got home, we opened the zipper & saw that we bought the wrong size, it was way, way too long. Had the "manager" offer his expertise at the moment he moved the ladder, maybe we could have purchased the zipper with correct length we needed. Overall, our experience at this location was by far the worst today. I called back to try to get the name of the "manager" from earlier- I described him as a tall, thin & fairly blonde, wearing a red Michael's polo shirt, who was working on Monday, December 11, 2017, between 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The employee gave me the name of "Kevin" the store "manager". I would hope to see that Michael's trains these employees to be more accessible, friendlier and more knowledgeable. read more

Went in looking for fall decorations, but all I could find was Christmas stuff. Every time I've come into this store, I could never find what I was looking for. Customer service is minimal, checkout line always backed up, and no one on the floor to answer questions. I used to be a big Michael's fan, but since visiting the Vacaville location..I've changed my mind. read more

Soooooo much stuff to look for anything and everything you need. I love the new store!!! Bigger, cleaner, well organized, wider aisles, and mooooore stuff!!! I found everthing I needed and more!! Been to this location numerous times and I've had nothing but great experiences. Every time I call for an inventory check or just have general questions the sales associate are always happy to help. They have a pretty good selection of items and their checkout lanes are some of the fastest compared to other area Michaels. Definitely will return again and again! read more

Horrible customer service!! I would give a ZERO if I could. I love going to Michaels; this was my first time going to this store as I just moved to the area. Upon our arrival, a RUDE lady was at the door directing us to the opposite door because their main door wasn't working, she was blocking the carts so I wasn't able to get one. We arrived about 40 minutes before they closed, yet they managed to make me feel rushed. Anyways, as I was looking for the things I needed, I asked for assistant and the woman who assisted me was super rude, I wasn't even done asking my question when she was already walking away. If I could give zero stars I would... wanted store credit for some floral stems I bought 3 days ago that didn't work for my project. I didn't have receipt so I asked for store credit. They said that usually they could look it up with my card but because I took tag off they wouldn't. I asked if I could grab one with the tag and they said no. It's just a floral stem... come on. They acted like I was trying to defraud them of hundreds of dollars and on top of that I wanted store credit. I will only go to Fairfield location moving forward. This store is clean and new and bright and seems to have a larger selection than the Fairfield location. There is a large parking lot right in front and you can actually see the store from the freeway so it is easy to find. However, I don't car much for Michaels in general, therefore only 3 stars. I got there on occasion because there are not so many art supply stores in the area, the better ones are in Berkeley, SF or Sacramento, we are stuck with Michaels. Why don't I like Michaels ? It is the prices and their marketing strategies. Their prices are often higher than the suggested retail prices. Their sales prices are closer to appropriately priced but when good things are on sale they usually sell out quickly. Their sales prices are about what you get at Dickblick every day. Michaels has to mark up all prices so that they can offer you those 40 or 50% off coupons that you can print from the internet. Those coupons irritate me because every time I have one of those coupons I wonder what to buy, since even after the discount most things are still more expensive at Michaels than they would be at Dickblick or on amazon. Paying more for the luxury of having a well-stocked local store with knowledgeable staff can be acceptable. However, I rarely find any truly knowledgeable staff at Michaels and their selection is rather limited as well. They maybe have "a little bit of everything" rather than being specialized on anything in particular, so they will only meet basic needs. To summarize, if you like Michaels, you will like this store. It is much better than the Fairfield store making me actually wonder, how much longer the Fairfield store will be around. read more

Worst customer service in any store I have been in. I asked 3 different people to help me and no one would help, they simply said its over there somewhere in scrapbooking. I really needed help looking for something and no one cared. The next time I went in I dealt with the rudest, most smart mouthed little girl I have ever came across in a store. Drove all the way from Fairfield for a custom frame for my art , as we were approaching the area of the framing section, the male associate this evening, who was talking to a customer immediately said that he has a line of customers waiting, we were not even attempting to ask him for something as we will look for a matching frame that we had on our hand, and then he asks what we need, and after we told him, he said "I don't have that kind of frame here" . I was wondering how would he know when he did not even take a closer look at what we have or did not give us a chance to look . He was very rude, did not have a very acceptable customer service especially to the elderly. He needs to be trained or look for another job if he cannot handle the "busy-ness of his department. read more

I am here for the third time this week for a project. I hate coming to this store because there is no quick in and out. There is always only one unfriendly cashier, who moves slow as molasses. It takes 15-20 min. To get through the checkout line. There are plenty of other employees that could be helping. All this only to be greeted by an unsmiling, condescending employee. read more

This is the worst Michael's that I have shopped in. It is a very small store and understocked. I had a generous coupon for 50% off Sunday and Monday labor day special. Thought I would go and pick up a Silk rose that is never on sale. The store had several rows of empty shelves. They seem to pull the stock off the shelves when ever they run an add with 50% off or other specials. This is not the only time that this has happened at the Vacaville store. Also find the staff disconnected. Think it is a management problem. read more

This store has a really big problem keeping yarn in stock. The problem is, they put a specific brand on sale, sell it out, and then have completely empty bins before the sale is over. I bought yarn there the second day they opened. I ran out halfway through my project. I was told by a manager that it was on the truck, but they didn't have the employees available to stock the yarn until that night or the next morning. I came the next afternoon and a different manager on duty had no clue about a new shipment of yarn. They did not restock the yarn for at least three weeks, it could have been longer, I don't know because I finally drove to the Michaels in Fairfield to buy they yarn so I could finish my project. Again, last weekend I went to buy yarn that was on sale. Bare bins. The management blames it on the sales. Poor excuse. Management should anticipate demand and keep it stocked. If they order too much it's not like the yarn will never be sold. Anyway fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I will be buying my yarn at the competitor across the freeway from now on. read more
