My wife was looking for a frame for my son's graduation pictures. They happen to have graduation frames and other graduation items for 50% off! The whole store was full of 40-50% off summer craft items as well. No employee that walked by me while I was searching for items stopped to ask if I needed help. I did stop one employee to ask where something was and she briskly pointed me to the potential isle, then walked off instead of walking me to the item. My friend and I came here today to purchase some Lorcana cards. A service rep helped us and showed us where they were stored and let us purchase the cards we wanted. Later that afternoon, we decided to purchase more, so we went to the same place to get more cards. A different service rep (a very young gal) was right in front of where the cards were, and she proceeded to reprimand us rudely like children, for not asking for assistance. After we chose the cards we wanted (with her assistance), she followed us around, keeping watch on us, looking us up and down as we proceeded to pay for everything in full. I was very polite towards her throughout our interaction, not even making any fuss. I paid at self-checkout, and said thank you when I left, but she ignored me and instead gave me a dirty look. Not sure if this was racial profiling, but it made me feel very uncomfortable when she kept following and staring at us. I understand the importance of store policies and procedures. So I can understand this sales rep's frustrations. But to enforce store policies and procedures does not mean being rude and unwelcoming to customers, especially if they didn't know what the exact procedure is. This was frankly rude and unprofessional customer service. It makes me not want to come back here, especially if sales reps are going to talk to me so insolently. I give this Michaels location an overall one star rating - 1 star for its availability of Lorcana cards. But that's it. This Michaels offers nothing else good except the Lorcana cards. The poor/rude customer service ruined my experience here... Avoid! read more

I thought that this store would be great! Much better than Pinole, but that wasn't the case. Like the Pinole store, their yarn section needed work. The difference is that Joann's is lacking in products that they should have on a regular basis. This place has all of the stuff you can want, but it's stuffed in shopping carts and boxes stuffed in the aisles. They also don't have a lot of employees and they were not around to answer my questions. As a result, I spent quite a while meandering around the store to figure out where things are. First of all you walk in to NO employee's anywhere it was like the Zombie Apocalypse hit. I was curious to see the fabric area since we lost JoAnn's and went to the back left area where they always had Fat Quarters and basic Supplies to see the whole row where it use to be has been taken over by more yarn. I was kind of expecting since they were getting the potential of gaining JoAnn's customers since it was the only fabric store in the area. The reviews on their fabric addition to their stores coming up very short of quality are not grossly understated. The supplies they use to carry shrunk by at least half. When we could see most of the new stuff but no fabric by the yard anywhere, and I spent a good while looking for a employee found a girl working in the back where the custom frames are but she was too busy with her ear buds and music to help customers. There is a HUGE area in the front of the store that has been empty for almost 2 years where they could have put the sewing stuff but guess they would rather display empty shelves. Since not finding a employee or anything I was looking for I left but not before passing the lovely Halloween decorations and line of self check outs because it seems Michael's in Vacaville doesn't have more than one employee working a day. They boast about $5.99 fabric but 95% of it is you have to order online which charges you $10-20 for shipping. Vacaville Michael's was always nice because it was newer but the store itself becoming nothing but a bunch of Dollar Tree garbage store I'll go up to the Quilt store in Dixon you at least get greeted, and if you can't find what you are looking for they have employees around to help you find it and show you where it is. The only thing I found worse than Michael's is Hobby Lobby in Fairfield their employees are out and visible when they ignore you. read more

Big ol' store located in what used to be the middle of nowhere. I'm not going to complain about the customer service, but there was none. I went in, picked up a pre-fab picture frame, bought it and left. This is one of those businesses where everything is "on sale." Discounted- technically speaking because everything is "on sale." I brought in a 40% off any regularly priced item. I'm not sure I could find a "regularly priced" item in the building if I tried. If I were to describe this location, I'd call it the Costco of Michael's. It's huge- basically a warehouse. When I asked the cashier for help, she complained instead. This store seems organized, but that particular employee needs to work on her attitude and learn a thing or two about customer service. I came here today to find an item for an art project. I couldn't locate my product and couldn't find someone on the floor to help me. Went to the register to ask and they said they didn't know where the item was and I should look it up online on my phone to see the location. What? I'm a customer and not an employee. Since the employee was not helpful and I had to find it myself, maybe I should get part of her salary. Newer location, replaces the old Michael's that used to be on the other side of 80 near Sports Authority and Walmart. The largest Michael's I've ever been to very near and we'll organized. The customer service is what's lacking at this location. Kinda sad, because you think they'd want people to come back and shop at this humongous store. If they don't fix it, they might lose the serious crafting customers to the Fairfield store or to joanns. If you forgot your coupons, there is an app you can download that isn't by the Michael's company, so thee are ads. Really good though since it usually includes a 40% off one item coupon and something for framing. This location does offer military discount. We stayed at a campground not far from here and I was in need of some yarn for a baby blanket I needed to make for a friend. It seemed like a fairly new store and was not one of the biggest stores I've been to but nice enough. I was a little disappointed in the size of the yarn department as it was just three small isles of yarn not a whole lot to choose from and a lot of the yarns were out of stock. I also found that they were a bit pricy too. My friend was in search of wording sheets for card making and found out that they no longer carry the generic style print of wording only specialty holiday and event wordings. This was not an eventful trip although we did not leave empty handed as we passed the jewelry making section and the impulse items, as those are always hard to pass on. Though the cashier did as me if I was military, senior or another sort of something I can't remember for a discount which Ive not been asked in a Michaels and I used my 20% off discount so I saved some money. read more

Update: Gave up being on hold after 40-minutes. I called back and spoke to Ken, the store manager. While he did apologize, he should have been more responsive in that he would look into the issue. He did ask if I had the part number. After all that, you really think I would purchase that item. Stores are going out of business because online ordering is so much easier than dealing with uncaring staff and ridiculously long lines just to check out. Something to think about. I normally have no issues with this store. I called to see if they had a clearance item in stock before going into the store, as it wouldn't allow me to order online and then do store pick up. The first person who answered the phone, kept repeating what I said to someone else and I could hear a person in the background responding. It was very generic (yes, they carried the brand). When I clarified I was looking for a specific item, they said they'd have to look. A few minutes later, another woman (sounded older) answered the phone. She said she would have to go look for the item. Well, as I write this, I've been on hold for over 30 minutes. I'm just curious as to if/when they realize someone is STILL waiting. Customer service would dictate you pick up the phone and let the customer know you are still looking or you are having difficulty locating the item. Can no one else in the store see the line is on hold and might want to find out if that person is in need of assistance? The Vacaville Michael's is my new favorite store. It's a major improvement from the old store front by Walmart. This location is airy if that makes since. Meaning that everything is spaced out and not crammed onto shelves. I felt like a kid in a candy store they have so much to pick from, that its easy to get carried away. The only downside is that the staff isn't as helpful as they are at other Michael's. I went to approach a couple of them and they avoided eye contact or pretended to be answering their earpiece. When I went to the front to pay for my items the cashier didn't greet me and when she put my items in the bag she did a sweeping motion and dropped them in the bag. For the amount that I spent my items should have been handled with care, not treated like it was trash. read more

I love this store. They have a little bit of everything. Also love that they frequently have coupons you can use which really help make the price more affordable. The major downfall though is how crowded it can get. I dread going in on the weekend especially with Covid going on. The line can get super long at the checkout. I recently started buying the Sweet Tooth Fairy melting chocolates and baked goods there, it is such an amazing brand! I wish they carried the baking items more consistently though, every time I try something new and discover I love it - I go back to get more and they don't have it anymore. read more

Let me start by stating that Michael's is my go-to place for a lot of my craft supplies. Now to my comment for today. A really nice young lady tried her best to help me but did not know the answer to my question. She contacted the store manager via that little walk-in-talkie thing they wear. She tried her best to communicate with the manager...who just told her to tell me to order online. But...and she told her manager this...I had already tried and was unable to order the amount of supplies I needed. The manager wouldn't even come to the front of the store to speak with me. Just told her to get my contact info for later. Seriously!???? The store was dead. When they called me to the register, I was the only one in line! And the manager couldn't even speak with me? This Michael's sucks. Every time I go in there I can't find a single employee to help me find what I came in for. So I spend about 15 minutes walking the aisles hoping I find what I need until I can find someone to help. And when I do get help they usually suck at helping me as well. The staff doesn't seem to be knowledgeable about what's in the store as well as where it is located. Today I was pretty irritated because I came in for a dry erase board and the associate could only find black dry erase boards. She seemed clueless and then found some other boards in the drive aisle and suggested I make my own, which could have worked but she couldn't really help me find the right items I would have needed to make one anyway. So I just grabbed the black one and while doing so I found the white ones that she couldn't find lol. I still bought the black one because the white ones were more expensive. When I got home I noticed the frame of the board was all scuffed up, so I'll be taking it back. Bottom line, this place is understaffed and the staff they have do not have very much knowledge about crafts, and the store has a poor selection considering the size. I liked the old one better. Why hire people who don't seem to have even a small passion for crafts in a craft store? Walmart has a better selection and I can get the same crappy customer service there with cheaper prices. read more

Newly relocated Michaels store. It's your typical Michaels store but this one has a different layout that I'm not used to and the place feels really cramped. The aisles are small and I've noticed some of the lights are turned off or really dim in some parts of the store. I usually come here only if they are having a great sale or deal. They're always so helpful and stocked very well! I always have a good experience here and they always greet me and ask if I need any help.

This location is great and it is next to a lot of new shops and food. If you come to this store it is newer and more organised than nearby Michaels. Most of the staff are pretty helpful and will tell you about the new deals. Best part is when they give you coupons and tell you about retail me not app. This visit was an expensive one, but when you love crafting you can't cut corners unless it's not that serious of a project for you. This day we visited the store was great until we got to the register. I wouldn't bring it up unless it was needed, but it is now since we have experienced two poor cashier moments. Both times cashiers acting like they didn't want to look for something or even talk about how good the Cricut was on this visit. We asked to see other colour and she said we don't have it with a little attitude. When she didn't see it was the next box below. My wife had to interject to her its right there and then the lady moved the boxes with more energy than needed. (Slam) move Bump slide) Anyhow the ladies on the floor should get love and they are why the review is a 3 not a 1 star.
