Pricy but if you think you can use 3 years, not bad.

I was supposed to look for strings for new project. But found another good part of this store. And regretted why I haven't come earlier. This store has nice designed agenda and diary which you can customized inside. As I just started new life, I needed something good made and can be used few years straight. Even it was pricy. Chapters didn't have at all. But this Michaels has darn good varieties!

I had long forgotten about Michael's... having not the will nor the desire to drive to other suburban locations for glitter and glue, but there it was, right in front of me in the exact same moment I decided I needed this year's gift-crafting supplies. Armed with a 4hr 15% off coupon (lame, when I see that they also have 50% off coupons), I entered the Walmart-I'm-A-Big-Box store with it's fluorescent lighting, squeaking white floors and luke warm service. With ribbon that spews Christmas cheer, wrapping paper, cookie cutters (metal, and the right size) and festive markers I made my way through the "buy me now" crap that tempts us all at the checkout and queued with other crafty ladies. The one thing that this Michael's has going for it that other could steal from is the one queue system. I like this about newer big-box-stores. Especially on weekends and during the holidays I just can't stand guessing which line up will be the shortest.

I didn't have much to do on a sad sack Sunday so I dropped by Michael's to pick up a frame. I took this awesome picture of the Empire Stare Building from high atop Rockefeller Centre and I wanted to print it out and frame it. A little reminder of my trip to New York. Anyways I love Michael's! I think it is awesome! Granted the pricing is a little out of whack! I would say they're 20 percent more expensive than your average crafts store. Still I just love the selection! It doesn't matter what your passion is Michael's has something for you. I could spend 2 hours wandering around here and not get bored! Well I got my frame on sale! Only $15! Groove hey?

    Awesome!

Awesome selection of crafty type toys. If you need a cheap $5 t-shirt get one of their plain t-shirts. No need to put a design on it.

We had our arms loaded with two albums (on sale!) and a bunch of paper when we were brought a basket by one of the employees.

Secondly, the store is thoroughly stocked with floor to ceiling materials for most any project you could conceive. World renowned artists frequent and are continual attracted to shop here for a reason! Thirdly, Rath also offers local feature window displays, quality handmade items and supports independent artists year round. They have created a beautiful community footprint! And if you don't care about any of that? Just go get your paint and be very happy with your purchase and experience!

The selection is smaller than Opus or DeSerres, but everything they carry is very high quality, even the things priced on the lower end, and they have some specialty items i've never seen at those other larger stores! I popped in yesterday to grab a new tube of white paint and noticed cans of specialty enamel paint for hand-lettering signs... Coincidentally I have an outdoor sign for a store just waiting to be painted, and after the owner told me the benefits of using that paint rather than plain jane acrylic i was sold! I'm so happy that i can provide one of my clients with better quality work thanks to the advice I got at Rath! Basically one of my favorite things about the place is the staff! If i have a question about anything, i'm always way more confident asking the super friendly, very knowledgeable owner about something than i am any of hired guns at Opus and DeSerres. The only thing: Don't come in here if you're looking for scrap booking supplies, tubes of glitter, jewelery making kits (etc etc!). Rath sells art supplies, plain and simple, so if your creativity falls into the crafting end of the spectrum you're best off going to DeSerres. If you aren't sure if they carry what you're looking for, just give them a call!

Today we decided to visit the market and seen this place randomly! I love the concept of this place…read morebecause it's a perfect date to have with your partner and we did just that! You could do bracelets, necklaces, charm bracelets, phone straps, I think rings as well. They also have bulk stuff. Walking in, it was honestly overwhelming. There's just so much to choose from. The only reason we have 4 stars we because the service here could've been better. Me and my partner weren't greeted, we were left kind of confused and figured it out on our own. We finally asked for help and she explained it pretty well. Besides the okay service, the activity itself is actually so fun. I love the variety of beads they have and charms. There's gems, regular beads, all that you need. They all have different prices so watch for that. The prices around $16 each in US dollars. So it was actually pretty good for the fun you're having along with the cute bracelet you can make!

I always score impressive pendants, findings, and sterling silver bails/findings at a great price. Great, friendly service too, at amazing prices, especially for Granville Island/Kitsilano. I was looking for blue fire/flame labradorite pendants, and I looked everywhere but couldn't find anything remotely suitable under $100. Upon walking into Beadworks, there was a display of crystal pendants, and they had a few Labradorites for $22! I quickly grabbed one, when a staff showed me a nearby dish on a display with more similar pendants. I found a gorgeous square briolette labradorite pendant for $32! There are tons of gorgeous, handmade pieces in their front window, I asked and was surprised at their reasonable prices. I asked the staff about silver bails, requesting sterling silver, and then showed me a square bin of many, for $4 each. I left with 2 stunning pendants and a couple of bails for $50, half the price of 1 single pendant in nearby shops. Service was helpful and friendly, despite being VERY busy on a sunny Sunday Labour Day weekend. I've since bought a raw ruby pendant, more findings, so this is now my go-to for new pendants and supplies from now. I cannot recommend their selection, prices or service levels, highly enough!
