I have been seeing Dr. Aimee for about a year now and figured it was time for a review. Although we have not been successful yet, I have been to several other clinics prior to Dr. Aimee and truly feel that she has been the best by far and wanted to lay out a few reasons: (1) Dr. Aimee personally saw me for every single appointment so she was the one doing my ultrasound and bloodwork. She also always took extra time to have us speak to her in her office after every appointment to go over next steps. That is a level of care I haven't seen at other clinics, where it is sometimes rare to see your doctor more than a few times the entire cycle. (2) I have been going through IVF for 4 years, which means I have had many many ultrasounds done throughout that time. I had been diagnosed with DOR and "unexplained" infertility. Since Dr. Aimee personally attended to me at every appointment, she got to know my symptoms and body very well. She knew what was normal for me and what was not normal. After only 5 months with Dr. Aimee, she discovered silent endometriosis off a random comment I made about a sore back, despite no signs of endometriosis. She was then able to guide me towards a specialist, where I had laparoscopic surgery to discover Stage II endometriosis. I likely would've continued believing "unexplained" infertility was my diagnosis if she hadn't put in the effort to dig deeper. This is a huge benefit when you are actually seeing your provider every appointment. (3) Communication with Dr. Aimee is readily available and easy. This has been really helpful for me in those random moments where something stressful comes up or if something happens over the weekend, she is always responsive. I really appreciate the communication aspect because infertility is a huge and stressful battle and she truly makes sure that your doctor is not an additional source of stress. This is unlike other clinics I have been to, where communication and getting in touch with your doctor can be really difficult. She truly cares about each and every patient and wants you to succeed. (4) Dr. Aimee is a great doctor for people that feel like they've "tried everything else." She is willing to think outside the box to come up with different solutions to your problems. Additionally, she is constantly doing research and trying to find new ideas on how to find new avenues to success. There are so many other great things I want to say about Dr. Aimee, but it would make this review even longer! She is truly an incredible woman and doctor and I feel very grateful to have her as my doctor.

We had actually seen several fertility specialists during this long journey, and have gone through 3 rounds of IVF (2 mini's and 1 conventional) as well as an IUI. Although they were all unfortunately unsuccessful, we discovered that not all fertility clinics and doctors are created equal. While we found that many doctors take a very traditional, rigid and cookie cutter approach to treatment. Focusing more on luck through repeated attempts, Dr. Aimee was much more focused and tailored in her regiment. We always felt informed during this process, and confident in Dr. Aimee's recommendations. And unlike other clinics, we were always able to get ahold of Dr. Aimee directly. Instead of communicating with a nurse who would then pass the message along to the doctor if they felt it needed escalation. Along these lines, we were always shocked at how quickly we were usually able to get a response from Dr. Aimee. Sometimes even late at night. We often joked that Dr. Aimee probably doesn't sleep. Our only complaints about going with Dr. Aimee revolved around a few issues: 1) The initial application process to get a consultation with Dr. Aimee was lengthy, difficult, and required a lot of chasing from my wife due to poor follow-up and communication from the office. The individual handling review and processing of new patient applications would often go awol for days on end after sending out limited communication. 2) Billing was oftentimes not very clear and created a need for us to meticulously examine our bills line by line to ensure accuracy. 3) Dr. Aimee does not accept any insurance so 100% of the costs will be out of pocket. In addition, her rates are substantially higher than other clinics. Although we were ultimately unsuccessful with IVF, we were eventually blessed with a miracle baby through natural birth. Despite this, we would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Aimee to anyone looking for fertility care.

I read so many horror stories on hysterectomies that I actually freaked out and postponed the surgery. Through it all, Dr. Shammout never pressured me, he was kind and reassuring, telling me that my concerns were valid, but also putting my mind at ease. I finally got brave enough to do it and had the hysterectomy a week ago. I had a robotic assisted laporoscopic hysterectomy. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Shammout and his entire care team. They are very responsive and helpful, and he did an amazing job on my surgery. I am feeling great and really have been since day one. I had a little pain and soreness over the first few days, but that is to be expected. Now, a week out, I don't even need Tylenol. The hardest part has actually been forcing myself to rest and recover for a couple weeks because I feel so good. I credit this amazing recovery and easy process to Dr. Shammout's expertise. He was really rough during the trans-vaginal ultrasound hurt a lot (note I've done over a dozen trans-vaginal ultrasounds in the past and they should not be this painful). Not only that but he also made rude, unnecessary and unprofessional comments during the ultrasound about how much fecal matter there was. In the end, he concluded everything looked fine, which of course it would because I had just done an ultrasound a few months prior. My guess for this extraneous ultrasound is that he wanted to collect more money from me and my insurance. The doctor has been trying to collect money for this procedure and his office has been mailing it to the wrong address for the last 8 months until now that he finally got right mailing address. And they are threatening to send this bill to "collection services" because I haven't paid. I don't understand why they couldn't have called me to settle the bill. Either way, I would definitely not recommend this doctor if you are looking for a kind and caring professional doctor with a good team, this is not the place to go.

What?? -I waited quite a while even though my appointment was the first of the day and there was no one else in the waiting room. -Several weeks afterwards I received a bill of almost $300. Yes, my insurance is terrible but it also states that prenatal appointments are "covered." After several calls to them and an appeal to my insurance company I was proven wrong; apparently they coded it as a routine checkup to "determine pregnancy." I'm confused yet again; I already determined my own pregnancy via a home test. This was my first prenatal visit. But no, they duped me and I still owed it. Almost a year later, and I am still beyond angry. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Even if the drive is longer, deliver at John Muir instead.

I'm writing this review in 2026 about an experience I had with Dr. Matthews in 2024, because it…read morestill stands out as one of the most stressful parts of my pregnancy. I began seeing Dr. Matthews in October 2023 after learning I was pregnant. From the beginning, I shared that I was also working with midwives and hoped to pursue a home birth if my pregnancy progressed safely. At no point during the early months of my care was I told that she does not co-manage patients with midwives or that this would prevent her from continuing as my OB. On April 5, 2024 -- at 30 weeks pregnant and classified as high-risk -- I received a notice stating she would no longer be able to continue my care because she does not "co-manage" with midwives. This was the first time I was informed of such a policy. I asked for clarification and received no meaningful response beyond confirmation that she would not continue my care. Being dismissed that late in pregnancy, especially as a high-risk patient, created unnecessary stress and made it extremely difficult to secure a new OB. Many providers are unwilling to take on high-risk patients deep into the third trimester. Beyond the sudden termination of care, I did not feel supported in my birth preferences throughout my time as her patient. My concerns were often minimized, and the communication around this decision lacked transparency and compassion. I ultimately filed a complaint with my insurance and pursued additional reporting. Clear policies and honest conversations at the beginning of care matter. No patient should find out at 30 weeks that their provider will no longer treat them for reasons that could have been addressed months earlier. I'm sharing this so other patients can ask direct questions about co-management policies before committing to care.

The only thing they cared is to put on a mask up to your nose till your chin. - The receptionist wasn't professional to answer questions, no smile, no pleasant welcoming. - The nurse is the same, no information on what are the next step, what should I expect, etc. I had to ask her every time about the next step while I was there. And her response gave an impression that she doesn't like when I ask her questions 2) Doctor Vogel - I shouldn't be shocked at her behavior after how her staff made me feel there. But as I said earlier, the only thing they cared is to follow a policy of having a mask covering 80% of my face. I understand their concern but it shouldn't be in such an unprofessional and harsh way. Here is a detailed story: I had my own mask and because I had nose surgery a while ago, I use a washable/reusable mask only that is also lightweight. The receptionist asked to pull my mask up to the nose until my eyes and I informed her that I had nose surgery, I need to keep it like this as it hurts. Then she started "oh, we can't let you in, it is our policy, bla, bla". I said ok. She gave me their own plastic type of mask, I put it on. Then the nurse came, and the same conversation to raise my mask up until my eyes. I informed her also about my nose surgery, its pain, etc. but I still raised it again. Then, while I was waiting for doctor Vogel in a room, I put my mask below my eyes but it still covered my mouse and nose. As soon as she entered the room, without even introducing herself, she jumped on to raise my mask and pushed it hard so I keep it there. It hurt my nose. I said doctor I had nose surgery and it hurts. She didn't even apologize for hurting me, causing pain, and continued her conversation as if nothing happened. Despite of informing the entire staff about my pain and the reason not to raise the mask up until the eyes, they focused too much on their mask policy. I booked that appointment because I had concerns about my pregnancy, something wasn't going right. Instead of focusing on my pregnancy concerns, they only worried about how high I raised and keep my mask. And today, I got a surprise bill of up to $200. I asked them to inform me in advance if my insurance covers it and provided them with all the information in advance. I had a miscarriage, and when she checked she said that everything is fine... :( Not blaming her for it but didn't have a great experience as I expected. I hope after this review, they will make positive changes by prioritizing their customers and provide a more professional service.
