I first heard of Dr Aimee through her Egg Whisperer podcast, which I have to say was a great way to learn about all things infertility and fertility. Then when the pandemic hit, we weren't sure if things would progress in our journey to having kids, but she always made options possible. She doesn't make me you feel crazy doing the same thing over and over again, but suggests new things to try, and is always a calming presence when there's a stressful detour in the journey. We have two little ones now thanks to Dr Aimee. She wasn't the only IVF doctor/lab we've been to, yet she's the only fertility doctor I strongly recommend over and over again without hesitation.

As a huge fan of palindrome numbers, I figured review #999 should be something out of the norm of…read morerestaurants and boba shops. Something that we struggled with for a while due to age was infertility. We had actually seen several fertility specialists during this long journey, and have gone through 3 rounds of IVF (2 mini's and 1 conventional) as well as an IUI. Although they were all unfortunately unsuccessful, we discovered that not all fertility clinics and doctors are created equal. While we found that many doctors take a very traditional, rigid and cookie cutter approach to treatment. Focusing more on luck through repeated attempts, Dr. Aimee was much more focused and tailored in her regiment. We always felt informed during this process, and confident in Dr. Aimee's recommendations. And unlike other clinics, we were always able to get ahold of Dr. Aimee directly. Instead of communicating with a nurse who would then pass the message along to the doctor if they felt it needed escalation. Along these lines, we were always shocked at how quickly we were usually able to get a response from Dr. Aimee. Sometimes even late at night. We often joked that Dr. Aimee probably doesn't sleep. Our only complaints about going with Dr. Aimee revolved around a few issues: 1) The initial application process to get a consultation with Dr. Aimee was lengthy, difficult, and required a lot of chasing from my wife due to poor follow-up and communication from the office. The individual handling review and processing of new patient applications would often go awol for days on end after sending out limited communication. 2) Billing was oftentimes not very clear and created a need for us to meticulously examine our bills line by line to ensure accuracy. 3) Dr. Aimee does not accept any insurance so 100% of the costs will be out of pocket. In addition, her rates are substantially higher than other clinics. Although we were ultimately unsuccessful with IVF, we were eventually blessed with a miracle baby through natural birth. Despite this, we would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Aimee to anyone looking for fertility care.

I met with MULTIPLE REs and basically interviewed them to see why I should continue with fertility and why I should pick them. I was clear from the start that I wasn't sure if I wanted to harvest eggs and create embryos. I never had the NEED that some women have when it comes to being a mom and I didn't want to go through this process if my chances for success aren't likely. I said I would like my doctor to be very up front and tell me if it looks like it will happen or not. Dr Fischer met with us multiple times before hand and was very informative, he gave me options that others didn't but most importantly he listened to my concerns and was honest in his opinions. Although my surgeon was able to get all the cancer out we were still going to proceed with the protocol for cancer patients. Since I was still apprehensive about having kids at all, on the morning I was supposed to start injections I made my final decision to not pursue IVF. The process isn't easy and since I'm still recovering from surgery I didn't see the value in doing this for the potential for 0-1 embryo. It isn't important enough for me to do IVF and try for nothing. If I would end up with 2 or 3 embryos I would have done it but not for less. Again he was very supportive and said if I wanted to try later I can since I won't be doing chemo and in a year my fertility won't drastically change. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this team and if I decided to try I would use them.

RMA was recommended to us by a friend, and after reading every glowing review and doing some research of our own, we decided to save up and schedule our initial appointment. Unfortunately, RMA did not accept our insurance, so we called ahead to confirm exactly how much the appointment would cost out of pocket and what would be included. During our visit, the entire team was friendly and kind--which we appreciated. However, in this industry, it takes much more than friendly staff. Our concerns stem from two major issues. First, they were unable to draw blood during our very first visit. This was a big red flag, as bloodwork is an essential and recurring part of the fertility process. Second, we encountered unexpected hidden fees. While we were told blood would be drawn in-house, we were not made aware that it would be sent to a third party, resulting in a significant additional cost. After two years of trying on our own, we put a lot of time and hope into finding the right clinic to guide us through this emotional, sensitive, and expensive journey. Instead, we left feeling overwhelmed and without the clarity we were hoping for. This experience may be different for those whose insurance is accepted, but if you are paying out of pocket and looking for a more transparent and supportive fertility clinic, I would recommend exploring other options.

This flexibility has made the process so much easier and more convenient. From the moment I walk in to the Danville location, the front desk staff is always warm and welcoming (I need to get her name because she's been wonderful!). The nurses and doctors at this location are all incredibly kind, professional, and compassionate. A special shoutout to my assigned nurse, Carmela! Carmela has been such a source of comfort and reassurance throughout this process. IVF is such an emotional and challenging journey, and feeling truly seen, heard, and cared for makes all the difference. Since monitoring appointments rotate doctors, I've had the opportunity to see Dr Morin and Dr Shapiro here, and they have been wonderful. From lab work, to ultrasounds.. It's clear that the staff genuinely cares about their patients, and that level of attentiveness is something I appreciate. If you're considering RMA, I highly recommend them. This journey isn't easy, but having a compassionate and knowledgeable team by your side makes all the difference. Thank you to everyone at RMA Danville for making this experience as positive as possible.

After our experience at this clinic today we are really lowering our expectations of Kaiser care. This morning my wife and I had the most stressful and disappointing experience at this Kaiser location. If you want compassionate and respectful care do not come here and ask for the nurse Linsey. She really doesn't belong in healthcare. We had an appointment at 8 am this morning for an IUI. Last three appointments it took us 40min to get here. This morning when we left the house at 7am the gps said it will take 1:30min. While 2/3 of the way there I called them at 8 am to let them know. When Lindsey picked up she said we can no longer do the IUI. I tried to explain to her three times our situation and that the travel time increased unexpectedly, each time she interrupted me and did not let me finish my sentence. When I finally was able to explain to her that we would be there at 8:40am she did not listen/understand, she did not care or want to hear what I had to say. My wife and I worked tirelessly for weeks to prepare for the IUI only to hear her cold and careless rejection. My wife started to cry in the car and I had to beg another nurse to let us do it. In the end we were able to do the IUI, but i will never trust or respect this Kaiser again. After the apportionment I tried to explain my disappointing experience to another nurse Cynthia. I thought she would listen and take the feeback, but instead her first words were "this all happened because you were late" and then continued to lecture me on the importance of being on time in all aspects of life, while also interrupting me when I tried to talk. All I wanted to do today was give feedback, but they seem to think they are perfect and don't need feedback. I am actually also a healthcare worker, and I would never ever EVER talk to a patient the way they talked to me!!! It's really heartbreaking to know that people in THiS department do not have compassion or go the extra mile for patients. In my clinic I do everything I can do make sure patients get treated on time. I don't mind waiting 1-2 hours, working until mid night, or on weekends. I treat patients like family. What happened to compassionate care and going above and beyond? I really don't think they know what patients are going through or how they feel when we come in the clinic, they worse thing is, they really don't bother to know. I am writing this in hopes that in the future no other patient will go through what we had to deal with today.: my wife crying first thing in the morning, the stress on top of stress, the anger, the feeling that they don't care about you, and the indifference. Again, I stand by my opinion, I do not think Linsey belongs in healthcare. I do not want anyone without compassion or willingness to go above and beyond to treat us.

What I appreciate most is that she takes the time to look at the whole picture. When needed, she's connected me with other specialists and helped me build the right team so I could make informed decisions with confidence. I've sought information through various third-party women's health companies, but none have come close to the depth, thoughtfulness, and individualized care that Dr. Prabakar provides. I'm learning that HRT is rarely straightforward, and what will set her apart is how carefully she reviews my history, symptoms, and bloodwork before making recommendations. Her bedside manner is warm, knowledgeable, thorough, and never makes me feel rushed. As a physician affiliated with Northwell Health, she brings a level of expertise and professionalism that has given me tremendous confidence in her guidance. Private care is certainly an investment and a luxury for most, but I genuinely believe Dr. Prabakar saves her patients significant time, confusion, and heartache by helping them make thoughtful decisions from the beginning. I leave every appointment feeling informed, supported, and confident in my next steps. I feel incredibly fortunate to have her in my corner.

After about four months of struggling with PPD, I made the decision to pursue permanent birth control a decision I now deeply regret. I was told by Dr. Cheruba Prabakarthat my tubes could not be tied and that they had to be removed. During the consultation, she asked if I wanted more children. At the time, while clearly struggling emotionally, I said no. She stated that since I was 39, it was a good age for this procedure if I did not want more children. I understand that the decision was 100% mine, however the state of mind I was in was not capable of making a life-changing, irreversible decision. I strongly believe that when working with women -- especially postpartum women -- it is a physician's responsibility to recognize warning signs of postpartum depression and emotional distress and to implement safeguards in their practice. What I needed at that time was help and support for my PPD, not a permanent procedure that altered my body forever. Instead, the process felt quick and not thorough. There was no screening for postpartum depression, no encouragement to wait, and no discussion about how temporary emotional states can affect long-term decisions. Now, three years later, I am 42 years old and desperately want another child. Time is running out. I am now facing IVF, with no guarantee that my insurance will cover it since this is considered a decision I made for myself. My eggs are older, the odds are lower, and the emotional and financial burden is overwhelming. I wish there had been more caution, more counseling, and more time given before moving forward. I also hope that by sharing this experience, changes can be made so that another woman in a vulnerable postpartum state is not placed in this position. I am beyond sad and angry about my situation, I wish i could of tide my tubes and maybe reversal would of been an option now there is nothing absolutely nothing i can do. and time is running out.

I started to see Dr. Starr in 2011 after I had horrible experiences with another OB in Valley Care. After talking to the office management, they recommended me to switch to Dr. Starr. I instantly felt "She's the right doctor" after my first visit. Out of her busy schedule, she was very patience with me for all my questions. Her wonderful bedside manner just made each office visit pleasant . Through my pregnancy, I had many complications, and she was on top of them. She communicated closely with other specialists about my pregnancy and conditions! On my 6 weeks check up postpartum, she discovered I had my tailbone fractured during delivery. She then referred me to physical therapy and closely monitored my progress on recovering. I was so fortunate to have her as my ob. If she still accepts new patients, I would totally recommend her to everyone who is searching for a great OB.

The pressure around choosing an OBGYN is often minimized by society. We write women off as being…read moredramatic/emotional and that any doctor should be fine. In my opinion obstetrics is probably the most important field in woman's health. It's taken me over one year and a lot of courage to write this review but I feel like what I went through should be shared so that other women deciding on their OBGYN will not have the same result. BED SIDE MANNER I initially wanted to have Dr. Jeffrey-Starr as my OBGYN because of her rave reviews from my neighbor who had a very positive experience with her after a bad experience with her first child. When I first met with Dr. Starr she confronted me with rude comments like why have you seen so many doctors? What is wrong with you? I had seen many doctors due to my endometriosis, it went undiagnosed initially by Dr. Pham who is also at that practice, but later Dr. Beatty (the only doctor I can recommend at that practice) ordered the necessary tests to be able to diagnose it. Every time I asked her questions about my pregnancy she dismissed me as if I was hyper concerned. I thought maybe I was being irrational, given she's done this a thousand times and I have only been pregnant once. She was always in and out of the room after about 5-10 minutes. She would appear visibly annoyed when I asked if I could facetime my husband for the appointment (as this was during the height of COVID) or if I asked if I could go through my list of questions (i.e., is this normal in pregnancy type Qs?) OFFICE FUNCTIONALITY I saw Dr. Starr once every third appointment. She never responded to a single inquiry I had through the online portal, instead it was her office staff who took anywhere from 3-8 days. Her NP would frequently say "that's a Q for Dr. Starr," in which I would never receive any follow through on whether the Q was relayed to her. I consistently waited in the office for my appointment anywhere between 1-2 hours. This is tough for a pregnant woman who is also working. DIAGNOSIS/CARE Because of our infrequency in communication, I didn't really feel like Dr. Starr was my doctor. My saving grace was a family friend who was an OBGYN. I could call her and ask her about symptoms I was having and she would tell me whether they were concerning or not. When she said they were concerning, I went to the ER and got the necessary blood work done. I did end up getting contractions early on and had some symptoms consistent with liver issues (all of these things went undiagnosed) and didn't seem concerning to Dr. Starr. When I was admitted to the hospital due to high blood pressure, I was there for 7 days. The first 72 hours I was induced, on a high amount of pitocin, on an epidural for 4 days, several cervical exams, a serious of high fevers, and very low over sight from Dr. Starr. I had asked Dr. Starr if we should go through a birth plan together, prior to me going to the hospital and she said no. At the hospital, I saw 5 other OBs at the hospital and there was no consistency of care. Finally, I requested a C section after having a very high fever of 102 and my blood pressure shooting up to the 170s. The C section was performed quickly but there was a lot of bickering on the other side of the curtain (overall it seemed like the care team wasn't functioning well together). In the recovery room, I went into septic shock, the rapid response team was called and was transferred to the ICU where my life was literally being saved. There were probably 20-30 different medical professionals buzzing around me, and I didn't see my baby for 3 days after he was born. AFTER CARE Dr. Starr visited me once when I was in the ICU to take my bandages off. I couldn't get an appointment with her for my 6 week post op apt. A different OB said my scar tissue indicates the surgery wasn't performed skillfully. Overall I would not recommend Dr. Starr and actually feel obligated to warn others because the result of having her as your doctor could be fatal.

My daughter has always had quite the temperament and a fiery personality to boot, so if you combine that with general discomfort, possible reflux, and a dairy allergy, you get a confused and tired mom--cue me. I was struggling for 7 months, until I saw some suggestions to look for a chiropractor. I did some research but I was still a bit apprehensive, so I kept looking over and over for a decent chiropractor who specializes with children. I found Dr. Kate Wong and gave her a call, and the rest is history. First thing, how awesome is it that she does house calls? That's the first I've seen for a chiropractor. She was very patient and interactive with my daughter, who has a little bit of "stranger danger" instincts that made some of her appointments a tad difficult. But my daughter would surely but slowly settle into her appointments, and I just regret not being able to have them a lot more often. The few appointments we had really helped our daughter. Believe me, I would have loved to follow the treatment plan to the T, because those appointments really helped my daughter relax and not be so angry and stiff. I could literally feel the difference in holding her after the appointments. Dr. Kate Wong was very flexible and worked with our schedule. She also understood we couldn't do too much because of our budget. Dr. Kate Wong also responded very quickly to any questions or concerns I had regarding my daughter and her health. I also appreciate the small, thoughtful gifts she sent to me, such as some organic nettle tea bags (and a recipe, which was delicious) and small samplings of natural tumeric bars for breastfeeding moms.
