I've been calling since October with little to no response, yet they are trying to hold me responsible for an incorrectly billed charge. Disappointing Experience After a Year with Reproductive Science Center I've been a patient at Reproductive Science Center for about a year, and sadly, I cannot recommend this clinic. To be fair, the case managers and call center staff are the only reason I stayed as long as I did -- they've always been kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, almost every other part of my experience has been the complete opposite. I've repeatedly encountered rude and dismissive staff with very little compassion or understanding for what patients are going through. I've had my blood work lost, been asked to resign consent forms multiple times, and dealt with constant confusion that made me feel like my care was never properly organized. Whether it's a paperwork issue or a system issue, the result is always another obstacle for me. The final straw was with the financial department. I was clearly told that I would be honored the original quote for my treatment, but now I'm being charged over $300 more for my IUI procedure. After everything I've been through, this feels unacceptable and dishonest. I truly wish I could share a better experience, but after a year of repeated frustration and lack of accountability, I will not be recommending Reproductive Science Center to anyone NEVER TRUST WHAT THEY SAY . !!!!!! I have been contacting RSC almost weekly since my last yelp review to have my release of medical records for REVISED to show my correct name so my husband and I can FINALLY move forward and get away from this horrible practice. I have been ignored for weeks and finally once I have been acknowledged, they tell me that the form doesn't exist.. I literally have a screenshot of the incorrect form they sent us through their online portal and screenshots of the countless messages we have sent that have constantly been ignored. The amount of stress and circles this staff and company put their patients (or in my case former patients) through is so heartbreaking! Wonderful infertility clinic in mid-1990's. Have beautiful twins. very professional. When first donor's eggs were defective Clinic came up with a second considerably reduced second opportunity and new donor which ended successfully with the birth of my twins in 1998. Unfortunately now what was an( open process as stated to me) I met the donor,has turned into a quagmire and I have been unable to enroll the twins in a process to learn their donor's identity. I have called innumerable times with no return call or email. This IS unprofessional.. I don't think Dr. Galen would be happy to see an organization he helped found behaving this way. I started calling this time August 26,2025 and have called almost weekly. No response whatsoever. It's shocking. There need's to be a Patient Advocate staffing prior patients and their offspring. I've finally asked to be conncected to Tana, Nurse Supervisor. We"ll see! And forget calling portion of clinic handling former patients "Third Party". Right out of Brave New World . This place is a scam. I asked if they take insurance and they said they did. I talked to them twice about my insurance and they hid the fact that my insurance would not cover their treatment. They bill everything specifically to "infertility" knowing full well that most insurances don't cover this. They run your insurance and "let you know" by attaching a file under uploads in an incredibly hard to find portal and don't mention it AT ALL that this is there. I didn't get access to the portal until the day before my appointment and they claimed they "let me know about my insurance" on 10/28, knowing damn well I didn't have access to this portal until 11/4. Now I get a call from their payment team telling me that I owe them money, on today of all days when women are being stripped of their rights. Don't bother coming here and don't trust anything they say. read more

My experience here is nothing short of frustrating. The only reason they didn't get 1 star is because Dr. Hinkley is knowledgeable. The case managers are incompetent. IVF is time sensitive, but there is no sense of urgency among the case managers here. I had a rep tell me on the phone, "It's not an emergency unless you're bleeding. We'll get your message to the doctor." and hang up on me. WTF. I didn't shove a bunch of hormones in my body to time my treatment according to MD orders only to have my meds not be called into the pharmacy on time. I don't doubt that Dr. Hinkley knows what she's doing clinically, but you gotta find some more reliable people in the office because it makes for awful customer experience no matter how good your success rates are. We had a very disappointing experience with this clinic, especially with their billing department. While our initial appointment with the doctor went well and we were hopeful, the billing process quickly turned into a nightmare. A billing confusion happened that resulted in 8x times higher bill then first appointments in other clinics, and after we requested a revision, the revised bill came back even higher (they added extra money that we paid already). Communication with the billing team was incredibly frustrating: they rarely responded, did not return calls as promised, and gave conflicting information to me and my husband. It's been over three weeks, and there's been no resolution or accountability. We've sadly lost trust even that initially were really positive of RSC. I can't imagine how they deal with real problems and fertility treatments, if such a small billing problem is impossible to communicate through! read more

The billing department and insurance claim department is the worst and very unprofessional. I sent out couple emails to explain what's going on how they did wrong with my claims and how they can correct it to receive the payment. I also confirmed with my insurance company, how to do it, what they did was wrong. Our previous clinic got all the payment without any problems. But RSC just keep doing the wrong thing and said it's denied. I already paid upfront, and waiting for the insurance claims to be settled so RSC can reimburse me. But this never happens. I am very disappointed. I already succeeded a cycle. Now I am thinking for future fertility preservation, I should consider different places. read more

We sought care for infertility issues, and found that is was due to really low sperm count. We were the. referred to by a urologist on a list we can chose from and the plan was sperm banking until we had enough to due IVF. Well after trying we had a few sample that cost $60 per month per sample each time. Then they doubled the price after 2-3months which was $120 a month per sample to store. Well me and my husband had sent a personal message each to Dr Agarwal asking how much sperm he needed to do IVF. No answers except oh I'll check in with the team and ask. Never got back to us and I find it surprising that you wouldn't know the numbers already since your a fertility clinic that deals with this kind of stuff. On top of this Dr Agarwal was unprofessional towards my husband being passive aggressive and making joking comments to my husband which are inappropriate such things as oh don't want to add salt to injury etc. so we ended up canceling the cryostorage and left rsc due to lack of communication and transparency along with the unprofessionalism of this doctor. We haven't been there for a yr but I'm writing this now because we sought a second opinion and he said the amount of sperm we had stored was enough to have done ivf in his clinic. All he needed was 100 sperm to work with, which we had way above this. So me and my husband are extremely upset and that might have been our only chance to have had a child. The lack of professionalism is absurd. I recommend any one going through this process to get an second opinion and I do not recommend this place since it's a profit for business type of clinic. Horrible place and I will be going to the board with my complaint so anyone else can avoid this. read more

While I was initially grateful, I'm continuing to expend vital time + emotional energy and tend to be negative, now. On the one hand, Dr. Rosenbluth was great and we were successful working with RSC. This positive interaction was 2-3 calls and 2-3 visits over 2-3 months. On the other, the billing nightmares that others report are real. It started with the surgery, which we paid 2 additional unexpected installments post-event, unexplained. In the process we were billed multiple times after we'd paid for dollar amounts that varied $20-$500. The final cost after a few calls and messages was about 80% more than we were told it would be, initially, which we accepted. If billing issues ended there, I would not be writing this review. Unfortunately, with cryopreservation, the headache extends to years. Initially we were told we'd pay $60/mo for 5 years, and periodically, the bills tripled and we'd have to call to straighten it up. A couple of months ago, the bills started being $75/mo for no clear reason. We paid. Now we are suddenly charged $210/mo. I need to take time out of my working day and time from my newborn daughter to write and follow up on this, calling and messaging. It doesn't help that RSC has a new web system with an awful messaging interface that does not interleave messages in conversations. So it is indeed a disorganized billing nightmare. I wish that if RSC needed more cash, they'd be upfront about it rather than sucking time and energy illegitimately from those who would otherwise provide a positive review. read more

Dr. Hinckley and Shanda are amazing humans. From start to finish with them during my IVF cycle has been perfect. They made me feel so heard and cared for. I got 16 embryos on ice with just one cycle of IVF. Well, now I have 15 because one of those embryos has grown into my beautiful two month old daughter. I already have my appointment booked to discuss my future FET cycle. I had not so great experiences at other clinics but I found my perfect doctor at RSC. Dr. Hinckley is a pro at this IVF stuff and she knew exactly the combo I needed for my amazing results. Please read a truth here which you need to know. Don't waste your precious time and plenty of money in RSC. There is no doubt that I am going through a medical dispute. I swear I will use the law to defend my rights as a patient, if someone want to join me, let me know. This egg freezing experience was a nightmare that left me with a psychological shadow and emotional distress. For some reason, this totally failed cycle may let me loose a chance to be a mom in my life. I hope my experience will help other women make informed decisions, especially those who want to choose Dr Homer and RSC. Dr Homer is an inexperienced and irresponsible doctor, both in selecting protocol and communicating with patients. RSC is not a good clinic, it's management is flawed and irresponsible. They treat patients like a number, they use the same protocol for 95% patients. They only care about money, not about results or patient's rights. They have no procedures or compensation mechanisms for handling medical disputes. 1. Before started my cycle, Dr Homer did not adequately explain how many protocols are available, how about the risks and success rate, what will happen if failed, even medicines and side effects, I never know my protocol's name. He just told me I can get around 10 mature eggs for one cycle after my pre-exam. 2. After my cycle failed, I got opinions from other doctors, He picked me wrong pre- cycle and wrong protocol, everything is wrong. 3. An experienced doctor should adjust medicines or dosage based on the patient's response to the medicines during injections, like my friend's doctor made adjustments almost every three days in her injections. Dr Homer saw my body response not very well, but he did nothing about adjustment. 4. I got my trigger shot ahead of time, because Dr Homer made a wrong decision. I got to know this point from other opinions as well. 5. All of these led to a bad result that shocked everyone. I have 20 follicles and my AMH is 2.6, but I only got two mature eggs which means I got nothing from this protocol. I know about ten friends who did egg freezing in other clinics, none of them have had surprisingly bad results. 6. After my cycle failed, I couldn't sleep for ten days, I lose 7 pounds in several days, it's really a nightmare. I didn't receive a good follow-up and fair attitude from Dr. Homer and RSC. Dr Homer told me go to another clinic find another doctor. The president of RSC chose to favor their doctor. Although I told the case manager I felt a painful after one month, no one answered me. They treat patient not like a human. Overall, I am very disappointed with Dr. Homer and RSC. I couldn't believe this happened in America. I will not recommend Dr Homer and RSC to anyone. If you are Chinese, don't choose RSC just because someone can speak Mandarin, you really don't need to have a lot of professional English in your cycle. Choosing a responsible clinic and an experienced doctor is the most important thing, don't make a wrong decision let you regret. read more

This place is a hot mess. Financially all the staff gives me the impression that my insurance will not cover IVF medications when in fact they do. I have had to paid medications out of pockets bc I'm in the middle of cycle and desperately need medications when I don't have them bc the staff can't obtain authorizations in time. Nonetheless, I always had to check on authorization progress each step of the way to make sure all authorizations were in place and often they were not. It's been very frustrating and they have been no help. I have 2 miscarriages with 2 genetic tested embroyos and RSC was not going to do any different for transfer #3. I left this place and found great care which is literally on the other side of the freeway on Crow Canyon! I'm here to tell you ladies to go there. They are called RMA. They are base in San Francisco but they just open an office in Danville. It's about time RSC to step up. Competition right down the street from you guys! read more

Dr Rosenbluth took a lot of time to understand my background and my partners, and try to understand why we might be having challenges. He used this information to better customize our plan. They don't have electronic Records like EPIC. To request your medical records to be faxed another facility takes a lot of back and forth emails. I personally prefer EPIC since "care everywhere" makes everywhere so much easier with communications. Your care team can see all AVS, treatments plan, labs, imaging results and not having to wait for "paper" records. read more

RSC exceeded my expectations with getting pregnant using IVF. If you look, most bad reviews are for patients who never had an appointment or had a billing issue. I had heard that their success rates were above average, and decided to risk it, and in the end was stunned by just how good they were. At each step, the numbers were either exactly what they predicted or better. For example, when 70% of embryos were expected to make it to Day 5, more did, thanks to their excellent lab. And 96% of my eggs fertilized, which would be unheard of at another clinic. Whoever that lab tech was has magic hands! The only annoying part was the customer service at the very beginning when we were trying to get the process started, and the wait time. However, they cautioned that the wait time is due to the clinic not wanting to be overloaded. At any given time, they only have the number of patients that they have time for, so that you never need to worry about getting the appointment date that you need or wait too long for a response. Once we had our initial call with our doctor, things were boom-boom-boom and moved like lightning. I was pregnant within 3 months! More specifics: My doctor was Dr. Homer, and my care coordinator was Lindsay S. Both were total pros, and were also fun to work with. Infertility and IVF are stressful situations, but with their positive attitudes, my husband and I felt informed and reassured. When I had questions, Lindsay would always return my call that day. She gave super clear instructions on my protocol and always followed up with everything in writing, too. I felt completely in capable hands. I have friends who have used other clinics and were frustrated to not have a good care coordinator or who felt that they had to work extra hard to be their own advocates, keeping track of their own medications in case a staff member made a mistake. This was never the case at RSC! If you have a couple months and some patience to deal with the initial bureaucracy, everything is smooth sailing as soon as you have your initial appointment. Don't go here. Organizationally, they are a disaster. They enforce ridiculous wait times on calls - and all you end up with (after listening to their elevator music) is just a voicemail box that leads to nowhere. I had a follow-up question on a screening that I had done there - and submitted it through the website. No response. It's been 2 weeks. Furthermore, after your retrieval, their byzantine billing process will continue sending you bills and announcing "overdue" fees even though you are on auto-pay. The staff are amazing at RSC. Dr. Hinckley and Devronne are wonderful! I had my egg retrieval today and my nurse: Jasmine Natividad (RN) was awesome! Jasmine was so sweet and caring before and after my procedure. She made sure I had exactly what I needed at all times and that I was comfortable. She always had a smile on her face and we were able to share a few laughs. She is extremely amazing at placing an IV Catheter, I only felt the poke and nothing else afterwards. She is very knowledgeable and I hope to have her as my nurse next time. I will definitely come back to this office for more egg retrievals and IVF in the future. read more

0 stars if I could - try scheduling here is a JOKE. You go to their website and fill out a form that takes 45 minutes to finish, and you wait for them to call you to schedule the appointment. Good luck catching their call, if they call while you are in the middle of a meeting and you ask them to call you back, THEY DON'T. I played 3 weeks of phone tag with this one person trying to schedule my FIRST appointment to no avail. Left voicemails, facebook messages, you name it. Why is it so hard to get a first appointment??? Why is EMAIL not an accepted way of communication??? And why did you ask for my email if you are not going to USE IT??? Why is this scheduling person working only from 7am to 2pm and my only contact??? We are all busy working professionals who don't have much time to spare, which is why we are considering preserving fertility in the first place - and this level of service is just unacceptable. The "Not Good" reviews are real. I wish I had given them more weight in my decision making. Unfortunately, working full-time while experiencing fertility issues in your late 30's/early 40s when time is gold, proved to take a toll on my capacity to do thorough research on IVF clinics and the overall topic of infertility. Knowing what I know now, I would have stayed away from RSC, started with integrative care and selected another clinic if needed. I assume the good reviews for RSC are by people who are younger than early 30's who just need a place to freeze their eggs. And anyone over early 30's, by absolute pure luck, had successful outcomes with RSC, not because the clinic is innovative, and customizing your treatment plan - the approach is one size fits all. There were many issues that came up from the start of my first cycle to the end of all completed cycles (3). I can write a lot on this but i'll bullet point a few examples of negative things we encountered: - Shady pre enrollment practice with their financing partner, promoting packages which benefit the clinic over the patient in our experience, even though it is marketed as saving you money - we paid more per cycle under this package than the value of a services we actually received. - Lack of consistent advice - Even though you select one endocrinologist when you sign up, we only had one in person encounter with them (by chance) and we ended up talking to any one of the many doctors who are on-call. We encountered very unsympathetic doctors who also second guessed the treatment plan we were given by our primary endocrinologist. We were also given conflicting advise from the on-call doctors compared with our primary on how to move forward with each cycle. - Unprofessionalism / Unkind staff - the admin team and other clinical staff left very much to be desired. I've been poked and prodded a thousand times before and for some reason I encountered the same nurse/phlebotomist who could not seem to draw my blood and had to stick me many painful times before giving up and having to get assistance. The staff openly talk about patients and their progress, saying out-loud who they feel sorry for not having enough follicles growing and who they are excited for... so privacy is a concern in addition to a disappointing quality of care. - I highly implore women with fertility issues to start with holistic integrative care. RSC did nothing to prep the body (other than expensive meds), they recommend more cycles rather than looking for underlying issues and there is a lot of research which shows the benefits of priming your body for pregnancy - things as simple as diet, supplements etc.... read more

I am so fed up with RSC. This is mostly about the nightmare that is their billing department, but here is my whole experience going back to 2017. I was a patient there for a hot minute a few years ago and did not have a good experience. They are a big old machine and treated me like I was on a conveyor belt. They didn't listen to me or let me think things through before pre-authing them w/ my insurance. I had not even agreed to the procedures or treatments, AND if I was going to do them I wanted to pay for them with cash. There were things I did not want my insurance to know about. I left and went to a doctor I loved. Great, right? Well, mostly. You see RSC is one of the only places in the area equipped to do some of the procedures and to process embryo storage, so even if you go to another doctor you still end up going through RSC. OK. Fine. Whatever. NOT FINE. They have been storing embryos for me since 2017 and have messed up my billing MULTIPLE times. They have sent me letters saying my account was months past due and my embryos were at risk WHEN I WAS PAID IN FULL. It tooks us 6 months to get things sorted out with them back in 2018. We have been on a successful auto-pay since then w/o issues until now. Once again we are getting paper invoices AND being charged every month on auto-pay. When you call NO ONE answers the phone, you have to go through a 3 minutes long auto-system to leave a voicemail. NO ONE ANSWERS the phones. Ever. And when you do get the voicemail the outgoing message says they will get back to you in 5 business days. What the what? 5 business days when I have an alleged outstanding bill? I can't with this place anymore. I'll be looking at having my embryos stored somewhere else. I suggest you do the same. read more

I never had to wait for my appointments and I have always been greeted kindly by the front desk and medical staff. I had one consult via telephone which went well. Later on in the week I received a long voicemail from one of the case managers. It honestly sounded like she was reading off a list trying to hurry up and clock out to go home. I returned her call the same day & had the most unpleasant experience with her. I immediately reached out via telephone (voicemail because they NEVER answer the phone) & email to the patient coordinator about this experience & never received a response. Very unprofessional, I noted that I would not want to continue with this case manager & that if a change was not possible I would not be moving forward with this clinic. NO ONE EVER RESPONDED! A few weeks later that same case manager left me a voicemail in a tone in which portrayed that the office staff had notified her of my complaint. 2nd issue - Before I gave any contact information I communicated that I did not want any mail delivered to my address, for privacy reasons. A letter from REPRODUCTIVE SCIENCE CENTER is pretty self explanatory & my rights were violated as a patient. I was told my address would just be on file & no information would be sent out. A JOKE about 2 months later I received a bill in the mail from them. They never tried to call me to pay this bill over the phone or email me a copy OR even upload it onto my patient account. read more

Where do I start! I LOVE RSC!!!!!! After 2 failed IUIs, 3 egg retrievals and 1 failed transfer, I finally decided to go to RSC for my final attempt of infertility treatment. I lost all hope after 3 egg retrievals and a failed IVF transfer. I went through 3 years of fertility treatment outside of RSC and cried many tears. 3 doctors told me I had no chance of conception with my own eggs even with IVF because my egg reserve was very low, I can only hope to conceive through IVF with an egg donor. My husband and I was devastated, I cried and cried and refuse to accept their medical opinion. I believed in my heart at age 31 that I can have my own biological baby through IVF. So I decided after much research recommended by a Kaiser nurse practitioner to proceed a final IVF treatment with my own eggs with RSC and what can I say besides THANK YOU DR. WECKSTEIN FOR BELIEVING IN MY BODY THE WAY I DID!!! I feel in love with Dr. Weckstein the first time my husband and I consulted with him. He was kind, patient and instantly I knew he was made from God to do exactly this (treat infertile people). I've been let down over and over again by many providers and meeting Dr. Weckstein brought me hope and happiness, he believed in me and it was the beginning of the light at the end of the tunnel. I live 3 1/2 hrs away from San Ramon and on the drive home I told my husband we are going to proceed with treatment here at RSC, I will drive every time needed for our treatment and I am again so glad I did, I AM SO PROUD TO SAY MY HUSBAND AND I ARE NOW PROUD PARENTS TO A 3 MONTH OLD!!!! Jazmin you are very good at your job and patients see that! . They are patient, kind and go at your speed because they truly want you to start/grow your family and have peace of mind coupled with a easier and more enjoyable experience during pregnancy. And the fabulous person Kayla our case manager, OMG, she was concentrating on our case as if it was the only case she has. She was on-time with every single update. She is very knowledgable and professional. She took care of us very very well. She is great. The lady in the lab, RNs and phlebotomy are wonderful. For over 4 months our procedures time, with hundreds of details, I'm confident to say that this wouldn't works anywhere else. I'm shocked at the average star rating at RSC and must leave a review for others to see! I just completed a single round of IVF with egg retrieval after 4 failed IUI's and a Medicated Cycle at another office. I wish I would she made the move sooner! I started treatment in October, and just found out I'm pregnant 2 weeks ago from successful IVF! I worked with Dr. Eisman, but saw a few other doctors during my journey. Every single person I encountered and worked with was so kind and compassionate. They make you feel seen, heard, and care for. I would HIGHLY recommend RSC. This is a long over due of reviews. After six years I finally decided that's is time to give my opinion. I've never really given a review because I don't care about what they think or their opinions of the place or people. I usually do and mind my own business. But after seeing all these negative reviews, I felt like I have to say something. First, my wife (Cheri b ) had her reviews about RSC. Second, I'm the one who made all the calls till I come across RSC Bay Area. I called all the places I could think and heard about. None of them can help me to explain and ensure that we are in good hands. We had never done something like this before, ( we are a lesbian couple) so to get the answers your looking for someone needs to explain in a way you will understand. And that's question will be answered by RSC when I give them a call. I spoke with someone with a very nice and professional lady on the phone. She made us an appointment with one of the doctors to help us understand, to guide us, and preferred us to all things we need to go thru. Then, we meet Dr. Hinkley, who was very nice, and the atmosphere with her are very welcoming. She made us feel very open to all the questions and concerns we had. She made sure those were answered to the point we understand them. Before coming to this place. I told my partner at the time ( now is my wife) We want to have a kid but that doesn't mean we will have one. We knew its like gambling. We will spend money and there's no guarantee of such. We had attempted 2x, the first one didn't work out for us. The second one we have positive results and yet we know the risk. Because the first didn't work out, we tried to be more optimistic of a reality. From positive results. Months have passed until the birth of our beautiful baby girl Avery. Now my baby is 6 years old. This review is based on our 2 IUI experience as an LGBT couple with RSC San Ramon with Dr Eisman and Case Nurse Leslie. 1. First red flag: To get started we had to do all the blood work (which cost almost 2k out of pocket). Our case nurse contacted us to tell us that my wife needs to go to her doctor for treatment because her Hepatitis C resulted positive. It made my wife and I all stressed out but when we looked over the results, we noticed that the result was for antibody and not antigen. Apparently the clinic ordered the wrong exam. Before telling someone they are sick, aren't you supposed to double or triple check the results? How can both the nurse and doctor missed that when my wife and I with no medical degree caught that right away? We didnt make it a big deal but I wish we saw that as a sign of how our experience will be with them. 2. 1st IUI was just a sonogram and trigger shot and w/ no bloodwork. It failed, we accepted it. We are thinking we missed ovulation. So my wife and I decided that the next IUI we will track ovulation more. 3. Second IUI: We went for the 1st sonogram. The tech was new so she asked if she can do it with supervision of her manager. We said yes. She wasnt able to find the follicles so the manager had to do it which was fine. They said we had to come back again because the follicles were not big enough. We went back 3 days later to do another sonogram. This time the new tech was by herself so we thought she was signed off. She had a hard time finding the follicles again. The result she measured showed that we're still not ready for IUI and come back 2-3 days later. We got home and compared the results we got from previous sonogram and noticed that the follicle measurement got smaller? We called our OB and she said that's not possible for follicles to get smaller. We also tested ovulation that night and LH was starting to peak. We called RSC the next day to tell them our concerns because my wife feels like she's ovulating sooner than what they are saying. Their response was they dont think she's ovulating soon and didnt even address the results from the sonogram. We came back couple days later to do another sonogram. The same new tech was there again but this time with her supervisor. We were so confused because we thought she was supposed to be signed off. We told them we rather have her supervisor do it. The follicles got bigger by alot apparently but the doctor was not recommending IUI yet because the follicles are not big enough and wanted us to come back 3 days later. We insisted to do blood work because when we tested at home for LH that morning, the result shows LH was at peak. When the blood test came back the same day, they called us to let us know we need come back the following day for IUI because my wife's LH was surging (shocker). We did come back the next day for the IUI. No surprise that it failed again. We truly feel like our experience was a waste of time and money. They dont look at results closely and they let inexperienced staff perform exams that are so critical for successful IUI. We never even met our doctor in person once. I don't recommend for patients looking to do IUI. read more
