WARNING!!! DON'T GO TO HER LADIES! Renee Hillard was a HORRIBLE experience for me and my wife!! She is COLD and RUDE and a waste of time and money! We were desperately searching for a gynecologist for my wife. She has a great gynecologist in Eastern Europe where we live half the time, but we also need one in the US. My wife had some bleeding and we need to see somebody on a Friday. So, we called her office Friday morning for a visit. Renee Hillard's response was "go to the emergency room". WTF? We did make an appointment with Dr. Emil Eyvazzadeh, and he was GREAT. However, over the weekend my wife's bleeding persisted and we called Dr. Emil Eyvazzadeh's the on-call service. Oddly enough, Renee Hillard was the on-call physician. She was a PURE "B", and coldly said again "go to the emergency room." She almost hung up on me. Unbelievable! I would have to agree with a lot of the ladies' reviews here. Renee seems very cold. This is my first child and Renee hasn't made the experience as warm and inviting as I would like it to be. When I had my first ultrasound, I began to cry (hey this is my first child..ya know, it's overwhelming.) This woman laughed at me. Then when I talked to her about a homebirth, she was rather rude and told me how I could basically die during a homebirth. I knew then I had to get a new care provider. Because that's a bold face lie. It seems she was only thinking about her bottom line. ($$$) I was really disappointed with my experience. read more

If you're looking for a doctor who is more concerned about getting you the answers you need to ensure the health and safety of you and your little one, Renee is the best you can get. I understand some women feel the need to be coddled, but quite honestly, there is nothing cute and fluffy about giving birth or about having someone search your "lady parts" for infections. I'm on a health-care review kick! MOAR DOCTORS! Dr. Hilliard's overall rating really should be higher, but it only takes a few disgruntled folks to drag those stars down. Anyway, Yelp politics aside, Dr. Hilliard is professional, caring, and kind. Yes, she is reserved, and not a small-talk chatty cathy. I'd rather have a quiet physician who gets the job done than a goofy talk show host. She showed me compassion and made sure all my questions were answered during my hospital stay, and in her office. Plus, she kindly took a look at an eye infection I happened to have at the same time as my GYN visit. She could have referred me elsewhere, but wrote me a script for the appropriate antibiotics, saving me time and money! The only thing that threw me off was the GIGANTIC furniture in her office waiting room. Maybe it's there to accommodate the pregnant ladies, but wow, those chairs are BIG! read more

I am not one to review my doctors, but I think this is long overdue. Dr. Hilliard delivered three of my four children, and also performed a tubal ligation on me. I have always found her very professional, AND personal. Even as I was screaming at her on my last birth to "GRAB HER GRAB HER", she laughed it off later with me at my follow up, because she is so down to earth. When my amniotic fluid was low during one of my pregnancies, she immediately sent me to the hospital. Many of the nurses at SRRMC also personally use her, and that says alot considering they work with her. Any time I called her, she always called back. I would recommend her to anyone. Tips to know: -Her office does not confirm appointments -Any medical service you have, be prepared to pay your deductible upfront if you have one. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Hilliard since 2004, and I am a very happy patient! Reading these past reviews I do not believe this is a fair evaluation of her or her practice. To be reviewed based on her shy personality or that she won't joke around, crack jokes and laugh is unfair. She isn't there to joke around; she is there to provide medical care in which she does exceptionally well! She doesn't lack warmth and sensitivity by any means; she is a very sweet person that is very soft spoken. When it comes to a medical question there isn't a doubt in her mind, she knows the answer immediately. What more could you ask for? Dr. Hilliard runs a very professional CLEAN practice in my opinion. The bathrooms and exam rooms are always immaculate and doesn't smell like the typical stuffy doctors office. The staff has always been very courteous and pleasant with me, and I must add very accommodating. She has delivered 2 healthy baby boys of mine, and I will continue to recommend her. read more

We had a great experience with Dr. Renee and I highly recommend her. She was very thorough in answering our questions and laying out the different options. We initiated the first step and it luckily worked right away. She is professional, caring, competent, and most importantly: she gets results. She took Timely decisions . I was referred to this doctor by my PCP for a growth in my uterus. I went for a consultation where she recommended a she remove the growth with endometrial ablation. I declined the recommendation and wished to seek a second opinion. Dr. Hilliard called my house and tried to bully me into having the procedure. I stayed firm and declined again. I received a bill which I felt was higher than normal considering I had insurance. After a few calls and much frustration about how I had been treated, I reluctantly paid the bill. I was sent to collections even though the bill had been paid. I have now been fighting to have it removed from my credit for years. read more

Dr. Hilliard is very sweet, gentle and knoledgeable. At first, I took her quiet disposition as being distant and aloof, but as I got to know her better, I realized she is just shy. She is super caring, would return my calls within 1/2 hour and always takes the time to answer all my questions. ***I lost my baby girl at 40 weeks under D. Hilliard's care*** I feel it is my responsibility to inform other patients of what I have gone through with Dr. Hilliard. I went back to her during my subsequent pregnancy thinking she knew my history and therefore would take better care of us. Any time we brought the issue of the previous baby and how we can avoid the complication we had during the last pregnancy, she became very defensive and argumentative. During our 13 weeks visit, when my mother asked her if it would be possible for her to submit me in the hospital little earlier to monitor the baby and my blood pressure, her response to my mother was a sarcastic "you want me to admit her in the hospital now?" Dr. Renee Hilliard. I would NOT recommend her! I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy that she performed. She is arrogant and always too busy in appointments and doesn't properly inform you of what could happen. She said the procedure would not put me into early menopause and it did immediately following the surgery. She was rushed at the surgery and then got irritated when I didn't remember her coming in to speak to me when I was still waking up and out of it from surgery. No bedside manner was the least of my concerns. Another word of advice besides not going to her is get the traditional hysterectomy not the laparoscopic if you have to get one. There is no reason to go with laparoscopic and I have scars all over my stomach from the "non-evasive" laparoscopic surgery. read more

I started seeing Dr. Hilliard in 2004 for routine checkups and was under her care until 2009 when I gave birth to my first baby. Dr. Hilliard has a very serious personality. Don't expect her to make small talk with you, laugh at your jokes, or even crack a smile. However she will answer your questions and ask you the necessary questions related to your situation. I thought she was knowledgeable in her profession, but I got the feeling that she just wanted to take care of business and isn't really interested in getting to know her patients or being very friendly with them. I'm a bit on the shy side, so this isn't really a problem with me. The one gripe I do have about Dr. Hilliard is that she made me wait for her while I was in labor with my son. He was ready to be born and I was told to stop pushing and wait for the doctor who apparently was not ready. For any woman who has ever given birth you know that this is the worst possible time to be told to wait! Besides that I feel that she took pretty good care of me throughout my pregnancy. I don't remember having any problems with Tiffany (I think her name is) at the front desk. She was always nice when I called or came into the office. I have since moved and don't see Dr. Hilliard anymore, but I have gone to two different doctors in the last year and both were much, much worse than Dr. Hilliard. read more

I LOVE Dr. Hilliard, in my opinion she is one of the best Ob/Gyn's around. She has always taken her time to go over my medical questions and I have never felt rushed. Her staff is friendly and courteous and I appreciate the appointments running on time or close to on time. She is an expert in her field and I feel completely confident in the care that I receive from her. I had a high risk pregnancy and Dr. HIlliard took exceptionally good care of me and my baby, I'm forever grateful for her care. The unfortunate part is that my insurance recently switched to an HMO and I will not have the opportunity to see her; I hope one day our insurance opens back up to a PPO so that I can see her once again! read more

To follow up on previous reviews, Dr. Hilliard has no sense of bed side manner. Pregnant with my first child three years ago, I went to Dr. Hilliard. Upon our visit, as a new expectant mother in my early twenties, Dr. Hilliard offered me no advise regarding what to do now that I was pregnant. I had to ASK what I was restricted to eat, or should avoid, if I should stop my exercise routine, how much caffeine to consume, etc. As my pregnancy got further along and time came to deliver, I rarely saw her in my 24 hours of labor. When the time finally came to push, Dr. Hilliard was absent, and the nurse coached me through it. After 30 minutes, she came in to say that the baby was wedged and would not come out vaginally - she then asked the nurse to prepare me for a c-section. Neither I or the baby were in distress. After my daughter had arrived, I was shaking. A c-section was not what I had wanted, and I was billed profusely for something I didn't want. My second child was born vaginally with no complications through Kaiser. This confirmed my doubts about Dr. Hilliard and her medical professionalism. Now pregnant with my third and on new insurance, I will not go back to her. read more

It was a good experience overall and I am definitely going back. Some of the reviews I read made me a bit hesitant to go see her, but she is a great Doctor. She addressed all my issues and treated me in a time efficient manner, which I appreciate because I am a very busy woman. She definitely is not the "warm/fuzzy" type, but I'm not looking for hugs when I have female issues... I am looking for answers. I was relieved that there was no small talk and we could just deal with the issues at hand. She is very professional and I left with peace of mind. Renee is a fantastic doctor. I went to to her for a long overdue check up and to get any/all testing done before a big international move. Renee asked me questions to get to know me and my lifestyle, and I felt like her approach was very holistic. I really could tell that she cared for my well being and she wasn't just completing a check up procedure. She really knows what she's talking about and relieved me from worrying about some pain I had been having for quite some time. Very smart! Ladies, you'll feel good and comfortable under her care. Yah, went to her because I has having really bad pains and symptoms. She said I needed a hysterectomy and was willing to do it quickly. I was thinking that's great, Thank you for taking the time. All went downhill from there! She didn't give me all the pros and cons of the procedure. About 2 weeks after I experience complications, when I called her office she said " I don't have time for you right now, I'm going into surgery". I ended up in an emergency room with 2 blood transfusions. HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE! Even after that she would not sign off on my disability either! So I ended up going back to work before I was ready, which I travel a lot! She really needs to do a better job with her patients needs! I think she knows her stuff and is highly educated but that doesn't make up for the horrible personnel service. read more

After reading some of the other reviews, I found myself agreeing with the ones that discussed her knowledge and availability to help (particularly important when you are pregnant and have 9 million random questions!) and disagreeing with the ones that said she was cold and uninterested. I have been a patient of Dr. Hilliard's for some time now and have gone through a pregnancy and delivery with her. She was great!! She is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent to work with. She was wonderful during delivery, postpartum, with my prenatal, and prepregnancy care. I love Dr Hilliard! I saw her twice for general gyn care. The first time her reception had never sent my forms that I was told I would receive in order to bring completed for my appoint. That receptionist was not friendly. However, she is no longer there. For both appointments I was seen with in 15 mins of my appointment time. Dr. Hilliard was through, friendly, and explained everything to me. I also recommended a friend whom was having a baby and wanted doctor who would respect her religious beliefs. I have been going to Dr. Hilliard since 2007. My sister-in-law had referred me to her with rave reviews. I feel Dr. Hilliard is a fantastic doctor, and her calm demeanor is a reassurance when things can be a little tough going. i.e. child birth. My son came out with the cord around his neck and Dr. Hilliard calmly called out to the nurses what had happened, and as if performing some sort of magic trick twisted him free of the cord within seconds. I didn't even have time to realize what happened. She is now with me during my second pregnancy, and I feel relieved to have her as my doctor. She always makes the time to answer any questions or concerns I might have, and never makes me feel ridiculous for asking. I think Dr. Hilliard is one of the most understanding doctors I have been to and is really quite funny and approachable if given the chance. I understand her first point of contact is to listen to my concerns/questions and answer them professionally. I've been seeing Dr. Hilliard since I was pregnant in 2006. She is extremely competent. She has always been responsive to questions, whether pregnancy related or women's health related. I have never experienced a "cold" demeanor from her or her staff. When I was delivering my daughter, I did end up having to wait for her, however she had 2 hysterectomies going that morning and my delivery wasn't planned so we deal with the cards we are given. I had a great experience with Dr. Hilliard. She was my doctor for both of my pregnancies in 2008 and 2010. I found her and her nurses to be warm, patient and open to discussing and addressing any questions and concerns I had. I had some issues with both pregnancies and she was very thorough and on top of anything that came up. Several people have commented that she is cold or did not have a good bedside manner. She is definitely not chatty, but I did not perceive her to be unfriendly at all. I personally don't want a doctor that is making lots of small talk while she is down there. Guess it boils down to the type of personalities you gel with - I like that she is prompt and gets me in and out of the appointment with just the right amount of "hi, how are you doing? everything going okay? any concerns you have?" without feeling rushed, but without feeling like I am on a morning talk show. read more
