I'm a completely self admitted anxious medical person, especially given that I have a family history of melanoma and have been monitored closely over the years by my dermatologist. Plus, add in it's your eyelid which made me even more nervous. Thankfully I was in the best hands possible. Dr. Carey was so kind, calming, and wonderful throughout this whole process of getting this removed. His staff made everything seamless with scheduling, and answered any questions I had and were so kind when they could probably sense my panic at times about things. I'm almost 2 weeks out from him removing the mole and you can barely tell I had it taken off. I am eternally grateful for his care he has given me and feel so fortunate to have found him. Thank you Dr. Carey!

He doesn't just treat patients--he genuinely cares for them. Every appointment feels like a conversation, not a transaction. Dr. Carey is a rare and special kind of doctor, and I feel incredibly lucky to be in his care. Was scheduled months ago, then got a text that the Dr I scheduled with would be out of the office and I'd need to reschedule. Called twice and first person I talked to was confused and I was put on hold. I was told I had an appointment and the Dr would be in. I called back and got a second person who confirmed I would be seen by a different doctor than I originally booked with. No problem- needed the appointment and DrJackson is great. Got to my appointment early, checked in. Kept waiting well after scheduled start - ok I understand things go on in the field of medicin. Had to ask front desk multiple times about my appointmen. finally got called over 30 minutes past my appointment times. They have great Dra and services but they really need to coordinate better!

I was recommended a prescription and doctor said she recommended that I fill it via Walgree's mail service, I asked how long in would take? A day or 2! I assumed she was providing information about the prescription but instead had information on Walgreens mail in service! I said No I told you I want to fill it today. Then she finally agreed to send the to local pharmacy!!

That said, I ended up paying nearly $4,000 for a bunch of stuff...lid cleansing, and 4 IPL treatments for Rosacea and ocular Rosacea. I had inquired from her staff about Excel V which I had read was the gold standard for ocular rosacea and they told me IPL was the way to go. Well, I only saw Dr. one time. The 4 IPL treatments were done by her staff. When I told them it didn't seem to be working about half way through I was told I needed patience so I went for the entire course per Docs recommendation. Not only did it not improve my skin at all, it actually made my eyes worse. Wish they would have laid out my options before rushing me into something that was really not intended for rosacea. Surely as knowledgable as this Dr is she would have known about the procedures such as Excel V and V Beam and could have explained them all so I could have made a choice. When I told the staff it didn't work they just said "ok". No follow up with me by the Dr or anyone else. This did leave me feeling like it was all about the Benjamins to them. Hope I'm wrong but here I sit....my eyes worse then ever, my skin still bad and my bank account much smaller. She came highly recommended and is probably great for dry eyes but I would not recommend her for ocular rosacea at all.

The reason that I gave four stars was because I had heard so much about Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). Over and I heard about not needing readers. So, the first night, I couldn't read my phone, but that's to be expected. But I'm a week in now, and I can't read very well up close, and I still have halos, and blurry vision. I can see very well far away, but I'm getting concerned about the flashes of light I'm seeing in my left eye. The radio personalities who tell you that you'll never need readers, Bob Stelton, Softy Mahler, and Ian Furness, should really be held accountable Everybody tells you it's affordable, but I consider over $15,000 to be quite a lot of money. I had hoped for great results, but I will be in readers the rest of my life. I'm not thrilled about that. Just be aware that great vision is not guaranteed. Also, I should mention that while I agree the procedure is mostly painless, it was pretty uncomfortable for me. There are constant drops, and you see strange patterns and colors, and you're supposed to keep the eye being worked on open, but after a while you can't tell if it's open or closed, and there's pressure around the eye. I didn't want to be too negative, but I'm just saying the things that I wish somebody had told me.
