Came to see the doc here for a First Class Medical Examination. Highly recommend, very supportive, fast, efficient. She will do everything in her power to help you fly. The receptionist also seems very kind and friendly. One problem I did encounter is the yelp page indicates that they accept card, but on the day of my appointment the receptionist informed me she only took cash. But other than that I am definitely coming here for my renewal in the future. read more

I love Dr. Amirkhan, but after being a patient for eight years I unfortunately won't be seeing her anymore because of the receptionist and insurance issues. My insurance changed this year and I told the receptionist when I arrived, and she said I'm covered for the visit and the lab work that was ordered. As it turns out, they no longer accept my HMO and I got a bill for $1000+ for preventative care. It clearly says on ALL medical search sites that she was in network, so I had to jump through hoops to get the payment covered. I've also left messages for appointments in the past and she never calls back. It's honestly really disappointing because Dr. Amirkhan is amazing, but the receptionist's attitude and mistakes are unacceptable. PLEASE update your information with what insurance is actually accepted. read more

Dr. Amirkhan is a fantastic AME. I have seen her for my 2nd class medicals for many years now and have always had a great experience with her. During my transition to needing glasses, she took her time to help me get through the vision portion of the test, turning out the room lights and minimizing distractions to help me pass. Dr. Amirkhan used to be the best doctor I had been to. We all know how difficult it is to find good PCPs. However, since ~2015 she began to rush our visits. She hardly took the time to provide me adequate care and would consistently rush out of her own office while I was still in the reception area after our visit. In 2019 I was trying to make an appointment after I had just seen her the week prior (she requires separate visits for separate issues), when I was notified she was closing her practice immediately. (I believe she only gives exams to pilots now which makes sense because that's where the money is for her.) It left me in a really difficult situation because I needed routine paperwork signed by my PCP, but I no longer had one. She and her front office staff refused to give me access to my own medical records after this even though I should be able to access my own information. It's now two years later and I FINALLY found a new wonderful PCP. read more

I would have been a new patient, but they do not accept anything but cash for the aviation medical exam. I read another long review about this doctor being straight to business and not discussing anything outside the scope of what you came to see her for. Maybe that's fair, but it sounded very uncaring and unfriendly! People in other reviews have voiced their opinion that Dr. Amirkhan is all about maximizing revenue. After I was refused because I was not willing to pay in cash, I can't help but believe those reviews. I mean it can not be anymore obvious that anyone who insists on being paid in cash is up to something. Make your own opinion, but this was my short experience with this doctor's office! read more

If you don't mind being treated like you DONT matter than go see DR. Amirkhan I went to see Dr. Amirkhan upon a recommendation, My Dr. of 15 years was retiring. Hard transition. I was used to feeling very comfortable asking my Dr. anything and everything when seeing him. I could ask him about multiple things that I was having problems with. When seeing Dr. Amirkhan I could only ask about one problem and was told I would have to make another appointment to have her look or give instructions about another issue other than my main problem....she was clearly to busy for me!!! If she was this rushed perhaps taking my appointment that day was clearly not a great decision!! I could have waited for another day!! Or mmmm... sounds like looking for additional co-pay payments for each issue... right? So I had called to complain.. I felt like I was rushed and made to feel like I was a bother! I have insurance and a co-pay of $30.00. I would like to think that this is still a great thing for any doctor. So I called to make another appointment month or so later and was told Dr. was not available that week.. Ok.. so could I have my prescription refilled anyway? I was told yes.....I will find your chart and call this in for you... Days went by and checking with pharmacy... no prescription? I called Dr. Amirkhan office and the young lady had informed me she could not find my chart? What? Really? Who looses files on patients these days? And you would think she could call me back and explain... I called multiple times and prescription never got refilled. So a couple of weeks go by and I decide ok.. lets make appointment, get checked for my problem and get my refill that I have been asking for... I called and did so.. When I got to the office that afternoon I was informed that the Dr. was no longer eligible for my care? What? What does that mean? The young girl proceeded to tell me that Dr. Amirkhan has told her to tell me that I am no longer welcome as a patient since I complained about how I was treated and the accusation of her wanting additional co-pays has compromised our relationship... LOL! What relationship? I had seen her twice...I was not accusing her of anything, just felt like I needed to know why I could only see her about one thing and why I was treated like she was rushed and did not have time for me? Is the policy in her office you can only be seen for one thing at a time? is that why she told me make another appointment if you have additional problems or what? I just didn't understand why she cut me off and was rushing thru my visit like the Taxi meter was running? Clearly once again I was swept under the carpet ... She could not even come out and tell me this herself after I insisted on speaking to her personally after being told this? But she refused to talk to me...... WOW!! Terrible!! Probably still looking for my missing file??? I am sure it must have been in the dismissed pile all along, or the to be burned pit!! How sad!! I cannot believe she made me drive all the way there only to be told no service for you...!!! She could have told me this over the phone when I made the appointment and spared me the embarrassment and frustration of not knowing what she was talking about? Clearly Dr. Amirkhan has no Precious Patient Policy! Don't complain about the way you have been treated here, or the way that you feel you have been dismissed. Or you get the BOOT!! Usually a apology is how people treat a complaint and try to make you feel better and want you to return... At least that is how I treat my clients!!!! If they complain I have compassion for the way they feel(right or wrong) and want to do all I can to make it right!! How about a apology!!!! and let me assure you that you are a valued client and what can I do to make you know how important it is that you are heard and respected....and please let me explain.... Well if you want respect, and to be heard, and talk to someone with compassion, and to be treated like a you matter, and a Dr. that truly cares about your health! Body and Soul... Clearly you will not get that with Dr. Amirkhan M.D. This is one bad Apple! Shame on you Dr. Amirkhan... Karma!!! read more

For the first 25 years of my life, I went to doctors in the Kaiser Permanente system. While they were all good doctors in their own right, the system is like a machine... which does not allow for personalization. After I married, I left Kaiser and started to choose my own physicians. I finally found Dr. Amirkhan and could not be happier! Even if I go months without seeing her, she remembers me and my husband. She is easy to talk to, same-day appointments are usually available (if not, she tries to make time), and she will not hesitate to send you to a specialist if needed. The office is nice and cozy... usually just the doctor and her receptionist... a gem! read more
