None of the dogs overlapped in their time with John, but it is a testament to the love and care John provides to each dog in his pack that I continue to trust John with all my dogs. John is extremely devoted to the care of each dog in the pack and understands the importance of exercise & mental stimulation to maintain a happy healthy dog that he shows up rain or shine to bring the dogs out on their daily off leash walks at Fort Funston. A highlight of my day is seeing the pictures he posts on Instagram everyday of their adventures & each dog has a huge smile on their face! All of my dogs have also done boarding with John when I travel & John adjusts his schedule to make sure my dog adjusts to the new environment & comes home safe, happy and tired. Finally, what makes John unique is he is also a certified pet dog trainer and educates and certifies new dog walkers on the proper canine handling and pack management routines. You will definitely have an elevated experience if you work with John & you will be a much better furry dog parent thanks to all the tips John will share with you. A happy dog is a calm dog, thanks to John and ABC Dogs!

She arrived promptly at the…read moreappointed time, dilligently took notes about what needed to be done, asked clarifying questions, followed instructions, and went the extra mile on top of that. She put my trash bins out for me as part of her service, she took care of some feeder mice for my partner's snakes, she emptied litter, she fed wet and dry and kept the big boii from stealing the slower, pickier eater's food. She spent real time with the cats, she did not just enter and leave. She checked in and made sure that she did everything correctly. Elaine is a professional and did an outstanding job. I am a highly satisfied customer and intend to call on her services again when I need them. Cannot recommend enough for anyone in SF.

After scanning the pages and pages of five-star reviews for Elaine and her business, I feel at a…read moreloss to write something that provides additional insight or perspective on how fantastic Elaine is. The reviews here get all the details - deeply caring for your beloved fuzzball, plant whispering, coming back to find the house cleaner than you left it, medication administration, the heartwarming and occasionally hilarious notes... The truth is that it's all been written over and over again; Elaine cares deeply for your pets and your home. Elaine has taken care of my cats since 2014 on more occasions than I can count, and I trust her implicitly. She has demonstrated a level of care for my cats, my plants, and my home that is unmatched by any pet-sitter I've ever known. She is overflowing with compassion and intellect, and she is organized and detail-oriented in a way that is dizzying to contemplate. I remember that, when I moved, she had a system for updating my records so the transition was flawless: new key, new alarm code, house preferences, new garbage night - because yes, she takes out and brings in the garbage! Perhaps one novel perspective I can offer is the deep confidence I have in her ability to figure things out if the unexpected arises. I have taken several long hikes where I am away from any cell coverage for up to three weeks at a time. Before the first of these hikes, Elaine and I discussed some contingencies and made arrangements, including a veterinary care directive and emergency plan. If veterinary care is required, Elaine will be able to address it and advocate for my pets the way that I would. This gave me a comfort that is beyond words when I was off in the wilderness. I know that, if I've forgotten some detail, Elaine will take care of it thoroughly and completely. I have recommended Elaine to everyone I know with a cat, and if you're at all on the fence, don't be - get in touch with her and save yourself and your pets from a "learning experience" elsewhere. Elaine is a true professional, a local small-business-owner who provides a service far superior to any corporation's, and she will impress and endear you in a way that exceeds expectations.

Ceslie has been a game changer in my dogs' training journey. I highly recommend her to anyone who…read moreis considering a trainer. I have two high energy pit mixes whose leash reactivity had gotten worse in the past half year, and it had reached a point where it was unmanageable because they would start barking and lunging at other dogs even from a healthy distance. I met with a few trainers to get a sense of their methods and styles, and Ceslie felt like the best match because of how she took the extra time to know my dogs and understand their behavior before recommending a plan, compared to others who jumped into training without asking many questions. There was a noticeable difference in how my dogs responded to Ceslie after their first class. She was thoughtful in customizing a plan that fit their needs, from teaching proper corrections to reinforcing obedience to providing the right equipment. She also taught me how to be a better handler (something often overlooked in training!), and it's truly strengthened my relationship with my pups. We had weekly sessions over the course of a month and there has been significant improvement in my dogs' behavior. Walks are stress-free and enjoyable again because we're able to bypass other dogs without issues, their door etiquette has improved, and we're now slowly working on their separation anxiety (slow and steady process but we're making progress!). Ceslie has been incredibly supportive and responsive through it all and I'm very grateful for her guidance with what I thought was a hopeless situation. I'm now considering sending the pups to her daycare program!

"You don't train the dog; you train the handler."…read more This couldn't be more relevant having worked with Ceslie. To be clear, while I saw training results with my pup by day 2, I didn't realize how imperative it is for YOU to learn patience and consistently implement the training. Point being, you are a student, and Ceslie is an incredible teacher. Her experience and knowledge are obvious, but what's special is how quickly she identifies the issues and gets you on track, like day 1, it was uplifting. Ceslie gets it. She'll adapt to your style and help you get to that obedience baseline you want to see in your dog. She balances compassion with firm direction-- Ceslie's a pro. For context, my guy was 7 months old at the time, rescue, half German shepherd mix w/ HIGH ENERGY... oh, and 75lbs. While he's never shown aggression, he's a liability because he LOVES everyone-- favored meeting strangers over recall, jumps on people, would be a brat, throwing tantrums when given commands. I always wanted a dog, but I was overwhelmed. Within a month (mornings, 4 days a week), I hit baseline with my dog--- he recalls, he doesn't jump, most importantly, taught him to fetch so I could properly get energy out of him... such an immense amount of weight lifted. Proof of progress with pics (she sent me photos of training each day) TLDR; Ceslie rocks. Stop looking.
