Since I was a teenager, I have had something called "gyneclomastia" (essentially, it's male breasts). In my late teens, I went to the gym a lot, took up running, and would work out, but while my body would become more trim, I would still have quite a bit of "fat" in my pecs and puffy nipples. I was always very embarrassed, and would rarely take my shirt off. A few years after college, I realized that this was something that could be easily fixed, not in the gym, but with a simple procedure. Dr. Copeland is a wonderful medical doctor and an excellent cosmetic surgeon. She performed an eye-lift on me in my mid-fourties to correct a heavy lidded appearance. I have previously reviewed Dr. Copeland and have been a patient for several years. I recently tried a new treatment, Kybella, with Dr. Copeland and have had great results. I have been bothered by a double chin, but not enough to want to go through surgery and recovery. Kybella is a new treatment that can reduce fat under the chin with just injections. There is a little discomfort and swelling from the first injection, but it wasn't noticeable to other people and I felt better in a few days. I saw improvement after about a week or two, and then had the second injection one month later. Less swelling and discomfort with this one, and a lot more improvement. It's been about two months, and there is a noticeable improvement, and I'm hearing comments from people that I look like a lost weight, look great, etc. It's a new treatment, but in Dr. Copeland's experienced hands, I felt very comfortable and she explained everything very clearly and was very realistic about the outcome - I think she is even impressed with how well it turned out. As a patient for over ten years, I'm happy to report that i'm THRILLED with the results. My friend told me to go see Dr Copeland because I was thinking of having eyelid surgery. I was beginning to look tired and old. Dr Copeland's office was very pleasant and helpful.
