Been coming here for a while now. In the past I have always been satisfied but the place has changed. They no longer treat the customers like they use to. I was there just this past week and my nails were rushed because there were so many people. Ended up coming back the next day for her to fix them but they still looked bad. It's just very annoying. If I'm paying 55 for a gel manicure it can at least look nice. I'm overall just very disappointed in the service. FYI They will try to convince to get gel nails. They start off telling you it's 30 but someway it ends up being more. They have all these ridiculous add ons that normally should be included in the service. 1. Long waits & appointments do not matter. Overbooked appointments. Then owner calls people to come in earlier to sit and wait. 2. Over priced (inconsistent with pricing) one time you will pay one price then another time you pay something else 3. Owner is always on the phone while she does nails. 4. Time consuming. What should take an hour always takes 2 or more. 5. A lot of their friends and family coming in and out. 6. ALWAYS RUSHING ON NAILS NOW. read more

I've been out of the acrylic nail game for over 5 years now...It has been all about my real nails for the longest time. Well sometimes my real nails didn't work well for me especially when i'm about to go on vacation and two of them break....i was on a mission to find a place that was not too expensive and could fix this disaster of mines before my vacation. I also wanted my nails a little more stylish...(Stiletto Nails) but not to crazy because i work in a business environment. I was recommended by friends to go to so many different places, even thought about going to this ultra fancy spa and pay about $80 just to get my nails done. I went to the spa that was about to charge me $80 and thank god they did not have any openings. This lead me to jump back in my car and search the next closest nail shop on yelp with an above 4 star rating. I saw Michelle Nails and instantly called the salon. Michelle answered the phone and said even though they where about to close in 30min she was willing to stay longer to help me out. With such a time crunch from closing time, you would think Michelle would be in a rush to get home. Michelle was so calm and welcoming!! She sat with me for about 15-20 min and started to give me recommendations of what i should do with my nails, what designs i should try, just overall getting to know her client and what would work best for me based on my needs. I LOVE LOVE my nails and even added a Chanel Charm :) something i never thought i would do...Michelle gave me exactly what i wanted....classy but fun!! THANKS Michelle...i will be seeing you again!!! At last, I've found a manicurist who knows what she's doing and does it VERY WELL. It's taken me three long years to find Michelle and I'm going to give her accolades++ This darling little salon, owned and operated by this darling little woman is what a nail salon should be. This is not a nail factory, Michelle and her staff take their time, and give you the personal treatment that you deserve. Her prices are very fair and she's a perfectionist. You will not walk out of her salon grumbling about a lousy job, wasted money, etc... You will walk out very pleased and ready to be a loyal client! I promise you that. As I was getting my pedi, I was sitting next to a man who had strolled in. Definitely a man's man, he had the greatest attitude about taking care of his feet. Michelle was really nice! I paid ahead of time and I just got a regular mani. I forgot to tell her that I had gel nails on so she take it off for me for free, which was very nice of her! Good customer service is always a plus! It's located in Chinatown and parking was pretty easy on a weekday. read more

I went to Michelle's for the first time after going to get my nails done on Foothill at a place called J & S, although she did a good job with my design after 2 wks my nails looked so old you would have thought I had them done for months. So after I checked out the yelp reviews for Michelle's Nails I decided to come here and she was great. She was very nice to me and took her time when she was doing my nails. She took off my old acrylic and put a new set on free of charge because it was my first time there. She made my nails look very good, she cleaned my cuticle and made them look very natural (since I put acrylic on my real nails). Great design, love the service, definitely will be my only nail salon from here on out =) read more

Love hate relationship with this place. Michelle did my fill once...she did a good job but I was disappointed by the small selection(imo) of shelllac polish. The next time another lady did my fill and I was not pleased at all. First, it was the longest fill I've ever had in my life....second the shellac polish picked up dust from the nails getting filed next to me, I chose some charms that were overpriced but cute...there were bubbles, a smudge when I left I HAD to leave bc I was late or else I would have stayed to fix. One charm fell off so I went back the next day and they replaced the $5 charm. I think they're capable of doing good work, but I'm not sure I would go back. read more

Love Michelle Nails! Michelle does the best 3D gel nail art! It may get a bit pricey adding all the gems and pearls but the outcome is fabulous! Michelle is the only one doing all the nails so if you do want to get your nails done call her in advance. read more

If I could give zero stars I would!! I made an appointment for a mani/pedi for my wedding the next, walked in at 6 on time and said I have an appointment and was told oh so sorry I forgot! The 2 lady's were just starting fake nails and from past experience those take at least 45 min...I'm placed in the chair and proceed to soak for what I assumed would be a long time...mind you she did a shady job of cleaning the basin!! So do I sit there soaking for 45 min and then have them do a crappy fast job becoz they closed at 7 or do I leave...I left! My nails and toes were not done for my wedding and got no apology as I walked out !! Never again read more

Meh. After messing up scheduling an appointment online at another (fancier) salon, I found myself desperate for a mani on a Friday night right before flying out for Christmas. I called a couple of other places nearby, and not surprisingly, they were booked solid. I happened upon Michelle Nails, and they were willing to take me as a walk in. I looked around the salon and almost walked out. The polishes were in disarray and many on their last drop. I found one red that looked pretty full so picked that one, despite it being a somewhat subpar brand. I asked my nail tech if she had any other reds, and she said, this is a good one. Thanks. I almost walked out again when I noticed that the tools she used did not come out of an autoclaved pouch, indicating questionable sterility. The nail filer she whipped out of her drawer looked well past its prime as well. Thankfully she was pretty gentle with the actual manicure, that no skin was broken. The quality of the polish job was decent. It held up for only 2-3 days, which is below average for a regular mani for me when I'm not working (involves lots of typing and hand washing/sanitizing). At least I didn't end up with an infection. And at least it was only $13. Pretty much got what I paid for. I will not be returning. read more

This place isnt somewhere I would recommend you go if u are in a hurry. I made a 1 oclock appointment for my friend and I and spent 4 hours just getting our Pedi and fills. There is only one person who does actual nails and designs and she has to split her time to accommodate everyone and in actuality just wastes the time of her clients. The prices are pretty standard however the prices for things like jewels and rhinestones are nothing more than ridiculous each medium rhinestone she put on my nail was .50 a pop. Has she not already started to put them on and if I wasn't already completely over the place because I had been there do long she woul have got some ugly words. read more

I have been going to Michelle nails for a while and a review for this place is way past due. Michelle Nails has it all! Michelle is beyond sweet and she is so talented its amazing. I like alot of design work on my nails and she never disappoints me. I can give her a crazy nail idea and she will bring it to life. She takes trips to China and brings back the cutest nail charms for 3-D nail art, this girl stays ahead of the game. As the other reviewer said her shop is very clean, it's always that way, and her employee Cindy is very good as well. Every time she does my nails I get complements and girls are wowed by the designs. I wish you could have seen what she did for my birthday.I love it lol! I usually go to the nail shop alone but whenever I bring my kids she treats them so kindly. I really appreciate how comfortable she make my kids. Most nail shops hate when you bring in children. Not Michelle. She gives them lychee and chinese crackers, they love her! She just has a genuine, sweet nature. I was excited to find a new nail spot as my old nail lady retired. Michelle's nails popped up and I made an appointment over the phone for a week in advance. I'm a single mom, so it takes a lot of planning !! When I got there she had doubled booked herself (Michelle) and made me feel like that was my fault. Her client was scowling at me and they were speaking Chinese. I usually don't mind other languages while I'm at a nail salon but the words "white girl" popped up and I knew they were being less then polite. Michelle rushed through my nails , but still did a decent job. She wanted me to add her to Instagram, did some very basic conversation with me in between practically yelling at her other client in Chinese. Very rude. Her employees then came in and polished me, which was good. But I tried to communicate to her I wanted a certain design but slightly different but then suddenly they seem to not know English. All in all I still tipped her 50% of my service in hopes she may feel guilty for her mediocre service. . I'm going to keep looking for a nail shop that's clean , friendly and does a good job. #loyalcustomer when I find that place read more

LOVE IT. Michelle and her two technicians are awesome!! Very sweet girls who KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. There have been some previous complaints about cleanliness in reviews, but my mother and I both got pedicures and I noticed that both technicians sanitized their instruments before using them, they wore cloves for the nitty-gritty cuticle and filing/sanding, and all-in-all the salon was clean. A pedicure with a sugar scrub is $22, tip $5, they're great! We were even 10 minutes late for our appointment, and they were very nice about it, even though we ended up staying 15 minutes or so after they close. ok so i came in today to her shop and i wanted to get my nails done with my sister so anyways we came in and was greeted and there were only two ladies im guessing it was michelle herself and one of her coworker the coworker were with a client only 4 seat in a small shop but everything were neat and the shop didnt smell bad like other nail shops STINKS! so i assume they take care of the shop but my point is that i asked the lady how much is the acrylic french tip the lady said it hella rude she said i already told you how much!! i was in shock soo i told them we will be back and never did!! so im rating the only 1 star for cleaness i will not get my nails done here rude ladies i take my money some where else read more

Worst nail salon experience ever!!! Went there on a Sunday afternoon around 12. Found out they were closed for lunch even though it doesn't say that since business hrs are posted in front of the door. I wanted to get a mani & pedi. It took forever since there was only person at the moment. I waited for about 10 mins for another lady to come back from lunch. I decided to get a French mani & pedi. She started buffing/cleaning my toenails and I knew it was going to be awhile cuz she took her time. When she started to paint them and cleaned the excess polish one side was thicker and the other side was thin. It looked funny. I decided to ignore it and thought I could just fix it at home. Next was my hands. I had gel on my nails and didn't want to do gel again. She had to ask someone working there how to take the gel off. She was very friendly and thanked me for my patience. Later I decided to ask how long she's been doing nails and she replied and said 3 months. After taking the gel off which she didn't do completely she proceeded to paint my nails. It was uneven and she couldn't figure out why. I had to tell her that on some of my nails the gel isn't completely off. She then sanded down the gel too much and made my nails uneven. She painted them and did not do a good job. It was uneven and so thick. Some parts was not painted all the way to my nail bed or on the side. After she left, I decided to tell the store owner that I just want to take all the nail polish off my nails. She said that someone would redo it but I spent over 4 hrs there and didn't want to waste anymore time. Total came out to be $45 for a french pedi and a reg manicure. The owner said that there would be a $1 charge for using a credit card. After all that I still have a $10 tip cuz I felt bad since she's new. read more

I'm giving one star because Michelle really does do gel nails compared to other shops that are just doing acrylic nails with gel overlays. The other star comes from no charging a fee for credit cards, since most nails shops do. I can't give any more stars because the prices here change on whim, and the quality has gone down. I was going here steadily for three years, but the prices changes drove me nuts. Michelle would charge one price, then another lady would charge another and there was never a rhyme or reason to the prices. I would mention this to Michelle, but she would give me some lame reason about "extra work." What "extra work"? I wasn't doing anything special, but a fill and a gel. Also, last year Michelle started using some cheap gel that wouldn't last the normal two weeks. The stuff would just bend. I don't even do dishes or hard work with my nails. Got to find another shop now. read more
