I asked around inside my peer circle in the Grammy chapter and ironically no one could recommend a vocal coach. I was fortunate enough to find Tricia and SLaS through an internet search and was pleased that SLaS could work with me via Zoom since I'm thousands of miles away from Atlanta. It's easy to under appreciate (or not understand) how much a course and coach can help us gain control over vocal muscles, larynx position, breathing, and breath support so that we improve our craft and more fully develop our personal singing style. Just like any fine performing artist or serious athletic endeavor, improvement in ability to sing isn't magic. It requires training (WITH EXERCISES), coaching, guidance, and feedback. SLaS and Tricia does all of these things via a very well thought out course that is designed to work on the common issues male and female vocalists arrive with at their doors (or in my case Zoom camera). I've gone from being/believing I'm a baritone only singer always wishing I had a wider ranger to be more versatile to HAVING a much wider range AND at the same time a far more POWERFUL and stable singing voice. I hardly recognize my new voice!...but I am sure loving it and can't wait to see what the next months hold as Tricia continues to guide and coach me to new places. I needed a hobby to help me break the (sometimes) mind numbing routine of having a 9-5 job. Although I have a very good ear and can sing in tune, I wanted to take lessons mainly to increase my vocal range. I was lucky to be under the tutelage of Carey for over a year and a half. Within that period, I've been able to increase my vocal range and build up a nice repertoire of songs based on my musical interests. Since Carey has a huge database of songs to teach from (over 5000 songs!), we covered a lot of musical theatre, pop, and some jazz. Carey's studio has very calming, comfortable, and nurturing vibe. It's definitely a great environment where you can let your guard down and sing your heart out without feeling embarrassed! The only reason I am not with Carey today is because of financial constraints. Trust me, if the standard of living in New York didn't eat away at my income, I'd still be with Carey today!!

My daughter has been singing and performing with Jackie for 4+ years all around the world from California (in person) to Korea (zoom). Miss Jackie took my daughter in as an evaluation as a new 5 year old and fell in love with her. Her technique and ability to teach and connect with little ones is so amazing. I don't know how a 5 year old manages to follow and remember everything she says. My daughter self sufficiently trains herself everyday whether it is breathing, warm ups, pitch, ear training, theory, or posture because Miss Jackie said to. Miss Jackie is one with her students and finds ways to unlock their potentials. It's hard to find a teacher that is so in tune with their students and she tries to challenge them to explore their ranges and genres. It's refreshing to hear my daughter sing things from musicals, pop, rock, and even the oldies. She doesn't only teach singing the way the kids will understand, she teaches them how to tell a story with the song in their performances or auditions. My daughter is learning about objectives and audiences to connect to the music to bring the song to life. It's so nice that Miss Jackie works with the parents and helps the kids in anyway she can. Because of Miss Jackie's eye and guidance for the last 4+ years, my daughter has been singing on stage, dabbled commercial/film acting, performed musical theater/plays, and has experience in voice over acting. She has given us the most beautiful gift and has become like family. Every week, she pours into our daughter and gives her not just an amazing voice lesson, but so much more! They worked with me after I initially signed up for a service I discovered I couldn't receive due to scheduling and reworked my plan for private lessons with Jeremie (who was always kind). I made a few mistakes in interpreting the contract I had signed and sent a few emails to Tammy Simon, which were met with condescension and impatience. She made me feel, for lack of a better term, stupid, for not understanding the contract in terms of billing and trying to cancel my lessons. All in all, I believe I took 2 lessons with Jeremie but paid for three months of lessons after being pressured to pay to comply with the contract. I missed a mid month payment date and didn't realize, in the third month. I asked to cancel but Tammy again sent me the terms of the contract. I quietly paid for all lessons I missed and thought I was in the clear until I was billed for the next month. I tried to explain to Tammy, who was very kind the first time I spoke with her on the phone, but every email we had afterwards made me feel bad about myself. I was never seeking a refund or anything like that. I had certain things going on in my life that prevented me from taking lessons. I did not want to create waves and thought I was done paying for them. Had to pay for the final month anyway. Tammy responded once because she eventually realized I wasn't making it to my lessons I guess? She sent me an email offering for rescheduling for the final month to which I replied I had been sick and I hadn't been able to take lessons, nor was I planning on taking more. No response after that. If you can pay for lessons this is a wonderful place to go to. Tara and her coaches are amazing. Tammy will be kind too until you misinterpret the contract. I have never felt so bad about myself before. She made me feel like I was a street urchin trying to get a refund, even though I was trying to honor the contract and pay for the lessons I never took. I am heartbroken from this experience as I know Tara is a good person but Tammy is unkind and I just wanted people to know that. I fully expect Tammy to post all of our emails here like she always does. Wish it weren't that way. I was aggressively pressured into purchasing lessons from them on social media in private messages from someone representing Tara. I'm on the spectrum and even though I recognize when people are taking advantage of me, I really wanted to work with Tara so I folded. I hate leaving reviews like this but I am out about $1k from this experience and Tammy is not nice, and people who are financially predatory need to be called out. They got their money. I got two lessons. Edit: After reviewing my records, I was able to take 3 lessons. I'm out closer to $2k. I was reprimanded for a late payment on at least one occasion, to which I did not dispute. Paid it without question, although this was on February 25th, and the last lesson I was able to attend was in December. I have emails and records from all of my interactions with this studio. Like I said, if you pay on time and hold up your contract, enjoy the service. The instructors and Tara know what they are doing. Tara needs to rework her admin team. I left this experience thoroughly hurt by Tammy Simon. She made me feel uneducated, uncomfortable, and subordinate in her emails.

Cancellation should be a lot easier since they offer a guarantee. They should respond to their customer service email.
