What a great little place to meet up and play some board games while you enjoyed your coffee. They had so many in their cabinet to use while you were there to borrow. The restrooms were clean, and I loved all the antique tables and chairs in this place, it was so cozy, I wish I would've been hungry because I surely would've tried some of their things on their menu. What a hidden gem. Came into town for the weekend for a wedding and was looking for a little cafe for breakfast and coffee. Everything else in the area is fast food so I was excited when I found this place. It's right downtown and was easy to get to. It was so cute and charming - the interior ceilings, walls, and fixtures look like restored/maintained originals. People pay lots of money for that look! Maybe it was an old soda fountain or something in a past life. The food was delicious and so was the coffee (and I'm from NYC so I'm a bit spoiled). The ladies at the front were friendly and sweet. My husband and I were recently road-tripping in the Clarion area and spent a rainy afternoon at Michelle's Cafe to enjoy some caffeine and free WiFi. My husband brought his laptop to do some work and had no issue connecting to the strong WiFi, with the password conveniently posted at the counter. The cafe menu is a typical coffeehouse assortment of coffee drinks like cappuccino and lattes, both hot or iced, as well as some blended frozen drinks. There is also a limited food menu with mainly bagels, sandwiches and pastries. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. There were a few other people on laptops, some people visiting, some people reading, a chill place to work or relax. It was a light crowd when we were in, which was after Clarion University had already wrapped on the semester. It seems like a cool hangout for college kids, so I imagine it does get busier when school is in session. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. When we are back in the Clarion area, we would stop in to enjoy Michelle's again! read more

Upon searching for a better caffeine option than Sheetz or any other typical run-of-the-mill convenience store, I found this place, which was on my way to route 80. While searching their menu I came across their raspberry truffle drink that I just had to try. So on my way east I stopped in. The interior from what I recall seemed quite interesting combining hipster and antique elements. More importantly, the drink I ordered with if I recall 3/4 the sweetener was amazing! You could literally taste the notes of truffle. It was barely sweet but just tasty enough, and it definitely improved my mood for the early part of my drive. I think I found my new go to place for my caffeine and alertness fix before embarking on long drives on route 80 east. read more

6 stars: service is great and non-pretentious (love this town), food, coffee and tea are very good, décor is comfortable and unique (Starbucks has nothing on them), clean bathrooms, and friendly patrons. We had a bridal shower here in 2005 and it was a greater experience. Events are always welcome with great service. read more

I live in Chicago so stopping into this tiny town while passing through Pennsylvania was a refreshing little slice of a more peaceful life. The coffee here is great and while the food is only good, the prices make up for it not being great. The staff was friendly and the environment is super cozy, which were added bonuses. FYI, they only take cash or check, so they get one less star because come on, I've never had to pay for coffee with a check before. read more

The hazelnut coffee is good and they have the day-old discount for baked goods sometimes, as well as a variety of other food offerings like sandwiches and ice cream. Michelle's Cafe is another small town gem that is sure to please your late morning coffee cravings or end your lunchtime hunger pains. For me, it accomplished both, especially with a wide variety of latte options and a simply effective lunch menu. To eat: a turkey and cheese sandwich on homemade, toasted bread with a deli pickle and a cup of Italian wedding soup. To drink: a pumpkin latte topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. Thumbs up to everything...very satisfying without suffering from that 'completely stuffed' feeling. It's a very laid back and cozy cafe, with a variety of comfortable chairs and tables filled with chatting locals and working college kids. A variety of locally made mugs, arts and crafts adorn the walls, all ready and numbered for purchase. I've been going to this place since high school, and I will continue to do so. It's a cozy little cafe, and their drinks are always great. The whip cream they use on top is very thick, and I think that's my favorite part. They serve bagels, breakfast, sandwiches, and soup all day. They also have a special of the day. Another thing I love is they always have local art for sale, hanging in the back of the cafe. And on some nights they have events and music like open mic night. If you would like ambiance with your coffee, Michelle's is one of the most active patrons of Clarion's creative intellectual community with regular installations, performances, and readings. I love this place! It is so cute! I go here every time I'm in Clarion. They make a fantastic Chai Tea - not too sweet - and have nice offerings of brewed tea. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. I only dock a half-point because I believe they still only take cash (inconvenient for me) and because it seems that they don't have a great selection of foods. Many items on the pastry/carbs end of the spectrum but not as many salad, veggie and fruit offerings as I'd like to see. What they do have, however, is fresh and delicious! read more
