I love this place! It is so cute! I go here every time I'm in Clarion. They make a fantastic Chai Tea - not too sweet - and have nice offerings of brewed tea. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. I only dock a half-point because I believe they still only take cash (inconvenient for me) and because it seems that they don't have a great selection of foods. Many items on the pastry/carbs end of the spectrum but not as many salad, veggie and fruit offerings as I'd like to see. What they do have, however, is fresh and delicious! read more

Michelle's is a quaint, cute little cafe that offers good coffee, great tea, amazing salads & sandwiches, delicious ice cream, & a nice area to relax, meet up with friends or teachers/professors, and a quiet and calm area to study or do homework. Most of the year, I live in Clarion for school. Clarion is a very small town in northern PA, but you'll be surprised that this town has cool things to offer. Michelle's Cafe is on Main Street and is the cutest little cafe I have ever seen. They offer many coffee, tea, and drink selections. They also have a good menu for fresh food such as: sandwiches, soups, and salads. And if this little cafe couldn't get any better...they offer gilatto! The atmosphere of this place is gorgeous. You do have the option of take out, but you could relax at a table to eat your food or sit in wing backed chairs and play chess or read a book. Some nights they have Open Mic Night which is pretty cool. If you are ever in the Clarion area, this is a must for you to visit! read more

Came to Clarion for business and searched for a coffee shop to prep. Starbucks came up first, and so glad I decided to come here instead. I went college @ clarion university and that is when I discovered Michelles Cafe. Now i work @ the university and still go multiple times a week to michelles. It is one of the best places in Clarion. Great staff, food, and Coffee! If you are in Clarion PA you must visit Michelles Cafe. read more

Stopped by because my husband wanted a coffee. Since I don't drink coffee I asked him to get me a grasshopper (hot chocolate with mint). It was terrible! First of all it tasted burnt, and it tasted like coffee. Since I waited in the car, I'm not sure how it was made, but it seems like there must not be a steamer for the milk that is used only for non coffee drinks. Disappointing! read more

When I arrived at the closed Starbucks a local pointed me towards Michelle's. I'm a coffee snob and I thought their espresso was good. Also they had really tasty bagels. read more

Great atmosphere, fantastic mocha lattes, and fresh bagels. The shop has an interior design from the 1920's. Also, there are plenty of comfortable chairs. The combination of excellent food and atmosphere make this an excellent place to get a coffee and sit for a spell. Don't stop at that chain coffee place; stop in here! read more

Great atmosphere. Love the decor! Glad they have a couple of tables for outside seating. Makes it nice if you have a dog with you. Had an egg on croissant which was good. Although we did think that the egg should have been freshly made instead of reheated but it was still good! Bought some of their coffee and it's delicious! Lots of seating inside. Free wifi. Driving cross country and spent the night in Clarion. Needed coffee in the morning and our hotel desk clerk was very excited to recommend Michelle's. It was FANTASTIC! Dark delicious brewed coffee, amazing homemade muffins and other pastries, large comfy seating area if you want to stay and eat breakfast (egg sandwiches, bagels). Been driving between Colorado and Massachusetts for years and this was easily the best find of all our trips - we'll make sure to stop in Clarion in the future just to return here and see the kind people and enjoy Michelle's again! read more

I've been coming here for about ten years while I'm on vacation at Cook Forest. I look forward to eating here every year. Everything about this place is perfect. I love the everything bagel toasted with egg & cheese, the vegetarian black bean soup, the homemade pies (!!!), gelato, lattes, and hot chocolates. Michelle's Cafe is the only place I will eat an entire plate of salad and enjoy every bite of it. I highly recommend this cafe for anything from getting a quick lunch to sitting with a book and enjoying a slice of pie and tea. read more

I visited Michele's Cafe EVERY DAY I was there to visit my brother off and on over a year period - which was a lot. It has now been a year since I had to go back to Tennessee and I cannot find a coffee that begins to compare - except in St. Louis which is also no where near me and not as great as the Americanos I had at Michele's. That's what I like to drink - Americanos or just a GOOD strong coffee - you can adjust the strength though by number of shots! I eat a vegan diet - so I could only get the bagel with hummus - but it was great every day - they actually make it a sandwich vs. using it like a "butter." I just ordered mugs from them today as I so loved the "Mary Hamilton" mug with the coffee gal and dogs, so I thought to write a review. If I lived near there, I would ask for a couple of more vegan options to eat, but alas! I do not! They also will make a gift basket for you to include whatever you request--gave one to my brother and sis-in-law for Christmas. Whenever I get a chance to visit again, I will be sure to go to Michele's Cafe - a beautiful and quaint cafe. P.S. They are also very clean - something so uncommon any more. read more

just got asked to leave because they are closing early. 4 people with an hour of work to do were told sorry but there arent enough people in here to stay open. there was already a seated table of 4 students and another couple in the place. so you wont stay open for 10 customers on a tuesday? ok michelles. we will take our business elsewhere. and we wont be back. read more

My husband and I were making the looooong drive across PA and stopped in Clarion looking for the Starbucks - and we are SO glad we found Michelle's instead! We were instantly charmed by the gorgeous interior and even more charmed at the great selection of sandwiches/ice creams/pies/coffees. I instantly succumbed to the peach custard pie (better than anything Starbucks ever dreamed of), and while the server prepared our coffee and sandwich we wandered around the shop admiring the handcrafted scarves for sale/on display as well as the gorgeous wooden toys and trains available for sale by area craftspeople. It was a charming, mentally invigorating and delicious stop, and I was even more surprised when a coffee, latte, sandwich, and a piece of pie came out under $10 (hardly possible, I would have thought). We will make sure to plan our cross-PA trips with a stop in Clarion from now on - it's about 5 minutes from I-80. (1st Clarion exit coming east, 2nd coming west). read more
