Beware! This cannot be the original owner of this shop from the 90's that my mom used frequently. I stopped by to needing a very simple alterations done, and was needing advice on the extra material I should purchase. From the moment I walked in the door she was rude and unprofessional! I was never greeted with any words, only a blank stare. After I said hello she replied" what you need?" While trying the dress on and being pinned, she began yelling at me in frustration because I couldn't understand her broken English. Needless to say, I took my dress and left, and won't be back. I am certain there's more professional seamstresses in town that would appreciate my business and not be so un believably rude for no reason. Not to mention this shop is filled with so much clutter and dust. There's literally just an aisle barely wide enough to walk to the make shift dressing room. read more

Michiko's is my go-to place for any kind of apparel problem where the piece of clothing still has a lot of life left. Particularly zipper problems! She is nearly magical with fixing any problem; in more than a decade she's resolved every problem I've ever brought in. Today is a case in point. I have a down jacket that has a few duct tape home repairs, but is still quite warm and usable if not the prettiest. But recently the zipper got stuck, and nothing I did got it unstuck. In five minutes she had the problem resolved, and even added a little tassle like the old zipper had. I also took in a fleece sweater that just yesterday I washed. It came out of the dryer missing the zipper tab. Another five minute fix at Michiko's. She is a Serious Person, very no nonsense, but I'm so glad I have her to turn to with clothing problems! read more

Not the worst place to go if you're in a real bind but I'm pretty disappointed in how much I spent for a halfway done job. I took a bridesmaid dress in to be hemmed and have the straps/shoulder area shortened. I paid $89 and I've heard great things about this place so I expected quality work worth what I paid. The hem is perfect which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2 but the top is a mess. I can see (unfortunately) the flap of mesh through the outside of the dress that she sewed to try and make it shorter, I REALLY dislike that it's visible and wish she would have cut that fabric off to make it look neater but it's still incredibly loose up top and I'm just going to have to be ok showing a lot of boob and having a baggy back for a day. I could have sewn the top the same way she did but the reason I didn't is because I wanted it to look nice, lesson learned, try the dress on before you take it home, and this is probably also why they ask for payment before you see the work. read more

Took a pair of pants in to be hemmed, she quickly pinned one leg and told me I was done. When I went back to pick them up, one leg was longer then the other. She told me it was a manufacture error with the pants, but would "fix" it. She did spend more time pinning the leg (but seemed annoyed the whole time- like it was my fault), but when I went back a week later to pick up, the one leg is still slightly longer and drags on the ground. I'm done- waste of my money and time. Super disappointing considering she came highly recommended from a friend who is very particular. read more

Went in for fitting and she was great. However forgot one dress to tailor. She made me dress too long and forgot about one dress. Very nice, but make sure you stay on them about your timeline. read more

Wow... do yourself a favor and stay away from this shop of frustration. I wanted to get very minor alterations done to my daughters dress, less than a hour's work. Upon arrival to the shop the owner was engaged in a blaring Korean TV soap opera with heavy, violent drama I guess she saw that this was a very expensive dress and presumed we would pay whatever, and would submit to being royally gouged. The shop owner acted like she would be doing us a favor to do the job within 20 days and only charge 200 dollars. She acted very frustrated. We politely declined. Didn't even say that her price was over the top. When my wife went to zip the dress back on the hanger, the shop owner violently grabbed the dress and shoved it into the dress bag and harshly said, "NO... LATER" AND rush her out the door. My daughter was embarrassed. This owner was arrogant and ignorant to say the least. The owner needs a lesson in being civil. I would recommend that she not watch violent Korean soap operas during work hours if they are going to make her moody and upset. It is bad for business. read more
