I talked to Stacey a few times to ensure that all was set. We had a 12:00 pm shuttle time from Hill City to Deadwood. We arrived at the shop at about 11:30 and tried the door but they did not appear to be open. This was on a Tuesday! I called Stacey who assured me that the driver was on the way and would be there no later than 12:15 pm. I gave her a call at 12:21 pm and did not reach her. I asked her to call me back. Never did get a call back. We waited till 12:30 pm and decided to create our own ride. The ride was GREAT! We rode from Hill City to a couple of miles past the Rochford Trailhead and then back. We would've liked to have done the Deadwood section. Maybe next time. I just know that we won't be using Rabbit Bike for our shuttle. Poor service and no follow up.

Sunday Gulch Trail is a 3 mile hiking trail. This trail starts off by going downhill through…read moreboulders for about 1/4 of a mile. There are railings so that is extremely helpful. It will be important to take your time during this stretch and to use the railings. This trail, like many others in the park, is not wheelchair accessible due to the rock formations in the area. The day I went the alpine slide and chairlift were "closed" but since they promised they would refund that portion of it wasn't up and running by the end of the day I went ahead and purchased the Ultimate Pass. After 4 hours in the park we were ready to leave and slide and chairlift were still closed. Went back for refund only to find sales person was gone and current "manager" would not honor what they were saying earlier. I was staying across the street from this location and noticed after they had closed at 6pm, conveniently the chairlift started moving as employees sat at the bottom hanging out. We only wanted to do the slide and climbing attractions which would have been $70 but like I said we purchased the Ultimate pass for $90. We did have a good time and it was a vacation so I'm not gonna complain too much. The staff here at each attraction was really the only reason I'm adding an extra star. They were awesome and really looked out for everyone's safety and made sure everyone was having a good time. JUST DONT GET SUCKED INTO THEIR BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!!

Pro tip: when on the Alpine slide slow down when the sign says slow down. I slipped off my sled resulting in minor injuries.

Chuck Lien family park is basically the same area of Rapid City that Hanson- Larson Memorial Park…read moreclaims- the memorial park is a set of trails all over the few hills there and Chuck Lien is a spot of land right in the middle of those trails, as well as one large trail that is easy access right up to M Hill, one of the most well known spots in Rapid City where the giant white M sits along the hill. It's really beautiful area any time of year, and such a pleasant hike around- it's not too difficult or strenuous but it can still get you breathing a little hard and sweating which is a perfect hike to me. Referencing my review on Hanson- Larson park if you plan to visit this area would probably be pretty helpful, I'm repeating a lot of what I said there but I don't want to completely drone on. Basically, have a picture of the trails or you may get lost, and taking the Chuck Lien trail path is the biggest path and super easy to make it up to the top of M Hill, and boy is the view worth it!

Wranglers with personalities, stories, jokes, and just fun to be around. They provided all the guidance necessary for those in our party with no experience, while allowing those with the freedom to control the horse. Beautiful scenery, varying terrain, and even the opportunity to trot the horses a little bit. There's nothing like it in the Black Hills. Hands down the favorite activity of the trip for every member of our party!! Oh yeah...they take pictures the whole time and send them to you for no charge on the spot when you're done!! Definitely on our to do list on our next trip out there.

The walking paths are well maintained, the signage is informative, and the views overlooking the city are absolutely beautiful. The dinosaur statues themselves, however, were a bit of a surprise. They have a very vintage roadside attraction feel--more like classic 1950s dinosaur sculptures than modern museum-quality exhibits. While that nostalgic charm may appeal to some visitors, they felt noticeably dated compared to the rest of the park. It almost seemed as though most of the investment went into the trails, landscaping, and visitor experience, while the dinosaur statues have remained largely unchanged over the years. Despite that, it's still a worthwhile stop for the scenic overlook and a bit of local history, especially if you're already in the Rapid City area.
