My hubby bought me the Viper auto start. Somehow I activated the valet function. They fixed it and sent me on my way. Customer service is just ok. The guys at the store are nice. honestly don't know how to rate this place I would definitely start off with a solid four stars they were very nice the drop-off process was easy really there was nothing but good however... One big problem I dropped off my car at 9 am and was told that it would take 4 to 6 hours to install my alarm system and door locks and all I called them around 5 pm and that was eight hours after because I know they closed soon and it wasn't ready yet.. I called again at six and was informed that they close at seven so I figured it was going to be done at seven so then called again at seven and it wasn't done yet The person I spoke to on the phone and I seemed to be miscommunicating because I was confused and needed more details I didn't know that they stayed until all the cars were finished I was concerned about going to work the next day and then needing to take my car overnight and ended up getting finished around 9pm .... it took them 12 hours.. honestly though everything works great I am super satisfied with my car and how it works and unlocks and starts I wish I could give them a solid four stars but I am only taking away one star because it literally took them all day and it was a little confusing I wish somebody could have told me so I could've been better planned for this because I had my ride on standby for several hours and I needed to find a different plan if I would've known then I could have planned better but then I needed to find a different ride it all worked out in the end but in the future maybe communication would be good overall I am decently satisfied though so a solid three stars will work read more

I would never bring anything to this place again. Brought my sxs to them to have a plug and play stereo put in and they destroyed so much stuff from my skid plates to my blinker kit. Wires cut and black taped together. Been 2 months and still finding stuff they tore up. Broken bolts ect. Plainfield location is just straight trash. All rude, all bullshitters trying to do the bare minimum to make a sale or recommend something you dont need. I was very skeptical about going to this location and actually convinced myself before walking in that it was a good idea to get one of these after market remote starters. I wanted to understand more about the different options, but when I started to ask some questions a black man sitting next to the counter started to snicker and turned his back to me. It really rubbed me the wrong way and against my better judgement I paid for a starter and left without even getting all the answers that I was looking for. My after market car alarm recently went on the fritz and needed to be replaced. I visited the Toyota dealership, and they quoted me ~400 to simply remove the old one (no replacing). I ended up visiting Mickey Shorr's on Grand River and they quoted me ~$170 to replace the old alarm with a new one from Viper, and I went for it. After visiting with them around 10:30am and paying for the alarm, I went back home to run some errands since there was a 3 hour waiting before they could take my car in to work on it. They called me when they had an opening and i drove back and gave hem the keys. i sat in the waiting area while they worked on the car for near about 2 hours during which they had the TV on for my entertainment. The staff was very pleasant and I am pleased with the service that I received. read more

I had problem with the remote start which I installed before 2 years. As I got the installed in a different state, i have to stop by some shop and fix it. I found Mickey shorr when looking for the shops near by. I stopped by one evening and explained the issue. Alex is the manager mentioned , they charge $42.50 to diagnose and re-program if the programming had issues. If any parts needed , it will be extra. He mentioned i can stop by any day but there is no appointments. I stopped by tuesday afternoon and he mentioned , he can get done after 5 pm. It took around 45 minutes in the shop. It got fixed and I didn't paid anything extra as it is just with programming. If they take appointments, we dont have to go early . I feel without appointments it is little inconvenient. read more

I called to get a new stereo installed in my 1988 Porsche. It was a replacement of an after market unit that died. I got there when the store opened and left the vehicle. These guys are good. They check out the vehicle before the install to see if they can do it. You get a contact number for progress, which I like. I get to talk to the tech. What's not to like. Very professional. If you want "do it while you wait" service, that does not happen in this day and age. Communication is excellent. The final job worked great. I have no complaints. read more

I took my 2007 Tahoe in because I couldn't hear out of the front driver side speaker. Come to find out it was bad wiring by GM. Nevertheless, they fixed my wires and had me on my way in no time. The manager was very friendly and courteous and the staff was very helpful as well. I totally recommend this store; not because of the name - BUT BECAUSE OF THE SERVICE!!! read more

I referred mickey shorr to a friend of mine from Toledo Ohio. He got a an automatic starter installed and has had problems with the starter not coming on and whatever the instellers did it made his engine light come on. He brought his truck back to MICKEY SHORR Canton Mi on Ford rd, the rep informs him he has to purchase a warranty for them to correct the issue with the starter Mickey Shorr installed. My wife bought me a remote starter. I dropped the car off at 9:30 am for it to be installed. Told them I'd be back at 7:00 pm. They said " no problem." When we retuned it wasn't finished and was told it would be another 2 1/2 hours. When I pointed out they had it 10 hours the sales person had the audacity to get all worked up yelling basically telling us it was our fault. They obviously can't handle their workload so it's probably best to avoid them. read more
