I appreciate that Best Buy is really trying to avoid becoming a showroom for the internet. People can walk in, handle an item, and then buy it on Amazon in two seconds. With that in mind, I visited this location intending to decide on a large purchase. It was not busy on a Saturday morning at 10:30am, and the customer service representative was trying very hard to be attentive even though I could tell he'd been out partying late the night before. I knew exactly what I needed (hair dryer with WiFi), and got out with my purchase in less than 10 minutes. Extremely disappointed with the service at this location. I scheduled an appointment for 3:00 PM to have my MacBook looked at, but I was left waiting completely ignored until 3:15 PM. To make matters worse, the technician barely looked at my computer, never even touched it to test anything, and immediately diagnosed it as a motherboard failure. Their only solution was to tell me I had to spend $2,000 on a brand-new MacBook. Glad I didn't listen. I took it elsewhere for a second opinion, and they were able to fix the issue completely for free. It wasn't a motherboard issue at all. Getting a lazy, incorrect diagnosis after being made to wait past my appointment time is completely unacceptable. I made an apt for a demo for the Meta Glasses with the band. I walked in around 5:15 and was greeted right as I walked in, I got directions to the bathroom and they were extremely clean. After I was done using the restroom I headed towards the area of the meta glasses and was helped by a nice man who helped me with the entire process of the demo, he let me take my time and was extremely nice, definitely a great place for a demo read more

I've lived in the area for a while, so I know this isn't a good retailer, and the location provides poor customer service. So, I did not need to see the many, many poor reviews here on Yelp to know what I was getting myself into. If only Home Depot sold electronics. I didn't like it when I was just furnishing my first apartment, and I still don't like it for upgrading a device. As a practice, I checked the online prices of my preferred retailers, Target, Costco, and Apple, before purchasing from Best Buy. Target - No deal Costco - $30 off Apple - $50 off Best Buy - $100 off + several free Apple trials (and I had some rewards $s) Amazon - $100 off (but a long delivery timeframe) The choice was clear. I ordered my items online for pick-up the next day. The digital experience went smoothly and I got my text notification the next day when my items were available, but the in-store experience, less so. As you can imagine, the store was hectic on the weekend. I received no help whatsoever in purchasing an add-on item. Don't get me wrong, I knew what was needed, but it was behind a locked case, and not even one store associate was readily available. After tracking down someone, I headed to the online orders line, where we all waited a long time to pick up our pre-paid orders. So a couple of thoughts: - We could indicate that we were here, so Best Buy should not be surprised when we showed up at the counter. I'm unsure why they were and could not initially find my order. - The online purchaser most likely does not want to wander helplessly in the store OR wait in line for a purchase, so a quick pick-up experience is expected. - Most purchases are high-involvement items (a marketing term), so the customer has done extensive research or would like to ask questions to validate the purchase. Why are there so few store associates to support this? - I like the new[ish] Geek Squad area. It is more prominent so customers can get support on their latest devices or repair something that has unexpectedly gone wrong. However, nobody (customer/technician) looked happy. I left the store, vowing not to return. Of course, when there is a deal, I will likely, alas, return. Not happily. Wife and I went to Best Buy to look at their TV displays. First I want to Thank their future CEO Kevin for taking the time to show us the various TV models, their technical differences and what our price range could afford us the best deal. He is a perfect salesman , not pushy but helpful and patient with us seniors. Secondly I want to thank BEST BUY for having the absolute best floor model sizes, brands and types of various TV configurations. So we bought a little better than what we intended but walked out happy with our purchase and their 2 day delivery! After posting our experience I later read some of the very old reviews. This place is extremely clean, all the staff we bumped into were courteous and friendly . The front lady greeting us as we came in, Kevin and Tyler in the TV section and a guy ?? Walton in appliances. No one here is rude and all were helpful. We will be back here for certain. So the TV set gets delivered and I'm reducing my rating from 5 star to one STAR. When the delivery guys showed up they refused to take off there shoes and were ok with tracking snow on our "just cleaned carpet". I asked if I called your manager what would he say? He said they have those blue booties but they just wet anyway . One guy was plain rude when I asked him about taking the other TV upstairs as I was told they would do as part of the $119 dollar set up charge.. There sei is to take the 85 inch TV out of the box, set it where you want it, plug it in and leave. Afterward, The one guy offered to take the other TV upstairs but I told him not with your snow packed shoes on, trying to call the store and talk to a manager is also non-existent. I went to Best Buying Novi for a new phone and had the pleasure of working with Dylan. Start to finish he was honest, informative and kind. He advised me on the different phones and features. We stopped here a while back during covid and since I was remote working for an undetermined amount of time. I wanted a cordless ergo mouse that was comfortable to use for 10-12 hours a day of use. After a few months, I have come to love this Logitech MX Ergo wireless trackball 'Logi' mouse. My husband used mine for a few weekends. He too loved it so much, he bought one for his iMac cordless mouse. He said he's more efficient with the Logi. It's second nature to me now. I would never go back to my old corded mouse ever again. It needs to cleaned every so often (it collects dust on the bottom tray from your palm on the track ball) and only needs to be charged every couple of weeks too. You can even charge it while using it with a portable charger too. The mouse was a little over $100 with tax, not bad. read more

My husband and I have been Geek Squad members at this store for many years. When you set up an appointment with the Geek Squad, the line tends to be very long and the wait for service very frustrating. I recently waited over two hours for an agent to help me set up my new phone, even though I had a pre-scheduled appointment, and the agent kept leaving me to wait on other customers during the process. However, I recently was pleasantly surprised by the Geek Squad service when ordering a new TV. I searched online and then called the store. The agent was very helpful and arranged for the TV to be delivered and set up the installation--all by phone. The TV was delivered to our doorstep the next day. There was a minor issue with the installation service that we were charged for; we needed a higher level of installation, so I had to spend about an hour on the phone with a rude customer service agent to try and work it out and then finally called the Novi store directly and talked with a Geek Squad agent. The amazing agent worked everything out by phone, and we didn't have to pay anything extra for the higher level of installation. On the day of installation, a team of two Geek Squad agents came, and they arrived early after calling to say that they were on the way. Within a half hour, they were finished setting up the TV, and everything works perfectly. They hauled away the old TV--which was very heavy--for recycling. They were so pleasant and professional. It's times like that when we're very grateful to have our Geek Squad service agreement. read more

I've worked retail and this is the worst experience I've ever had. The store was not busy at all, associates were just walking around avoiding customers. It will save you on shipping costs and is so simple. They have there own line for it, so it's quick in and out service. It also only took two seconds for them to grab my stuff. Ordered online, showed up for curbside pickup. Let them know I was there and they brought out my purchase. I popped the trunk and they put it in the back, nooch. They wore a mask and were polite. Hard to trust this Best Buy after my most recent TV purchase experience. I was sold a 75 in TV that was defective and Best Buy did nothing to help me because the defect wasn't found in the first week of purchase (it was a gift so it couldn't have been known within 7 days). They referred me to Samsung which was a whole other nightmare but I'll save that post for their company review. My issue with best buy is that the TV did not come with the SKU label on the back. So when Samsung came to try to troubleshoot/replace the TV, they would not uphold the warranty because the label was not affixed to the back of the TV. Please note this was not a refurbished tv or open box. This TV was purchased in store brand new and was delivered sealed to my home directly from best buy. All this to say, I am not sure why or how I was sold a TV without a label and neither best buy nor samsung want to take accountability for a KNOWN DEFECT of a brand new tv simply because a label is not present. Something is sketchy and they definitely got over on me for $6500 so I will NEVER purchase from them again. I've also been a cardholder since 2008 and plan on canceling that as well. Great when they sold you the new TV. Told them we were wanted to recycle our old 65" TV and wanted to know if that was possible before buying new one. They said no problem - only $30. They even tried to sell us some Geek Squad deal where they would take our old one from the home for us and recycle it. Decided we would would return the old TV ourselves and bought the new one. The next day when we brought the old TV back, the security guy said it was "too "big" and wouldn't bring up the GM to explain or allow us to find the sales guy who told us we could recycle our 65" TV. The charging cable for my Acer laptop met its demise via puppy teeth. Oops. I need my laptop daily so this was not something I could order online and wait for, I needed an immediate replacement. The staff member inside the entrance seemed rather disinterested (or inconvenienced) when I asked where I would find what I was looking for, and it took me a moment or so to find staff in the dept., but fortunately the team members I did find were very polite and helpful. They took the time to make sure I left with the cord that would fit my 3 year old laptop. They rang me up on the spot so I didn't have to wait in line at the register. My visit was during second wave of the pandemic; everyone is wearing masks, physical distancing is enforced, and there are partitions at the register. read more

If you're in the market for kitchen appliances, see Brandon. We researched gas and induction ranges, as well as refrigerators. We weren't even going to ask for help, but when he walked up and asked if we had any questions, I decided to ask about how well Kitchen Aid's print resistant finish matches their regular stainless finish. Not all Kitchen Aid appliances are available both ways, and Brandon walked us around to show us the differences. This helped us avoid making a costly, bad decision. Then we started talking about different brands and mixing and matching. Brandon had a wealth of helpful knowledge without being the least bit pushy or aggressive. If only every salesperson was so tactful, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, shopping for high end items would be a more enjoyable experience. As far as this Best Buy goes, they have a large selection of appliances, from low end to high end. The aisles are a bit packed as Christmas approaches, so they're a little less navigable than normal, but passable with patience. The staff here is friendly and everyone was busy helping customers when we were there. We'll be back! read more

This was my favorite Best Buy for years. I've come in here at least once a week to look for blu-rays/4k movies for a decade. I've excitedly waited for this new remodel to finish as I couldn't wait to see the new and improved location! Except I just left and there isn't a movie in the store. The entire movie section has been completely removed. This is truly a shame for me and I will really miss the old store. Do not buy anything here. They only stand by their product for two weeks and then you're on your own if the product is defective unless you buy a $179 plan from them. So if you buy a cheaper TV or computer add $179 on to that otherwise you're out of luck. No help from them. read more

After several weeks and attempts activate a used phone I bought online (turned out stolen&useless) I went to this location (very agitated) to buy my teenager the cheapest iphone possible. Dominic Weakland was my sales professional, he was great. He explained my options without being pushy and ultimately I chose a newer model. He also looked into several options trying to get me the best deal on my purchase. He offered to activate the phone and was painstakingly patient with the many issues we encountered due to trying to activate other phones and sim cards on the line in the past few weeks. His supervisor Rodney was also extremely helpful and assisted the entire process until we were able to walk out with a fully activated new phone. After going to several Verizon locations and dealing with multiple salespeople, I 100% recommend going to this Best Buy and asking for these guys to help you. read more

Located in a upper middle class strip mall area. Inside is a bunch of appliances, some computer stuff, and radios/gadgets. The staff is fairly polite. The repair staff and pick up staff are pretty busy, the computer staff likes to ask if you need help. Overall they aren't very busy. I suspect a lot of people use the store to look over computer/tablet goods to decide if they should order online for less. read more

Looks a little tired and old from the outside, but inside you will find a huge store with friendly employees that seemingly really want to help you. My mom's computer was acting up. I had done everything I could but still couldn't get it to respond correctly so it was off to the "Geek Squad" for this girl. The woman that helped me was great. She even said she wouldn't charge me if it was just a small problem. Turned out that I needed a new driver installed but even that was a minimal outlay of cash. And they work fast. I left the computer and got the call about an hour later that it was fixed. Not all Best Buys run this well but this one has a new fan! read more

The Geek Squad here is useless. I scheduled a consultation because I'm not sure what the issue with my laptop is (but I suspect it needs a hinge repair- so entirely hardware). According to their site and follow up email, I needed to bring the item and any accessories for them to be able to answer my questions and provide advice. My "consultation" was literally them informing me that it would be $85 (and two weeks) to send it off to get a diagnosis without even looking at the laptop. I asked if anyone there was going to look at it. I was told they would need to send it out for someone to take a look. I can't believe I drove all the way to the store with my fragile laptop for them to tell me nothing! I recommend skipping Geek Squad and going someplace where they at least look at your laptop. read more
