I know this is a chain but this is hands down the best location in all the locations I've visited. I know the star of the show should be the gyro meat and it certainly is on point. But what's even more interesting is that the pita is so fresh!! You'd be surprised by how fresh the pita is because it's as if they keep on churning it out of the oven. And of course, the freshness of the cucumber yogurt cuts into it all. I don't know about all the other ratings here but I definitely think that this is THE Place to visit if you're thinking about getting gyros in this neighborhood.

I needed to binge on rib tips, I looked for a guiding review, we would up here. The service was a tad bit off-putting for me, but it would probably be fine for everyone else... so I won't make it a negative. I usually enjoy a place with a distinct identity, but sometimes it's a matter of timing-- I felt a bit attacked (I was slow ordering because I don't have glasses on or contacts in right now :/ ) I kinda thought "this guy saw the Billygoat Tavern SNL sketch tooooo many times" as I listened to him, I also thought "I'd usually enjoy this...." The rib tips were tender but I thought the smoke was too aggressive. 4/5 I have bbq sauce on my pants and I don't care. :) I'll be back to try the ribs, I think they are probably great.

This place is hit or miss. The Mickey burger is pretty good. I tried the Cream of Chicken and rice soup today and rib dinner. The soup was bland and to salty. The ribs I thought for sure would be great. They were fall off the bone, but way too salty. I had to drink a lot of water after the meal. The service is kind of straightforward, and you better know what you want when you go to the counter. I will go back again to try their famous gyro.

See the piece of plastic I tried to overlook the fact that they messed up my food a little but this is the last draw

So the first time I ate there, it was OK. I enjoyed it but after that downhill, I don't know what I did to the guys in the bag but every time I get something with french fries I think they get them out of the garbage. They're so hard I can't chew them. I get more onion on my food than my food now and this is what I got today.

The ribs are the best. Don't miss out on the Mickey burger. Service is always fast and friendly. I lolike the old-school dinner vibe.

Decent place to come and grab something quick to eat. The service was quick and nice. The menu has a full selection of food to choose. Prices were reasonable. I ordered the chicken pita with fries. The only thing is I wish my chicken breast were cut up into small pieces. They just laid two big chicken breast on the pita bread. Food was ok

The ribs here are very good. The meat is tender, not too much gristle or fat, and very saucy. The line goes quickly at the service counter and the staff are overly friendly. Lots of tables and chairs to sit in to dine.

A great quick meal. We like to stop in when my parents are in town. They use to visit Mickey when burgers were a dollar or two.

Great Gyros in Oak Park. Sure it's a bit of a drive from where I live in Forest Glen but it's worth the effort. My brother & his wife are visiting from Issaquah WA. As former Chicagoans they had to get their fix on a number of food items not available in udder parts of da country. Thangs like Portillo's Beef, Lou Malnatis Pizzer & Gyros. They had a hankerin for a gyro. My sister found 10 different places and she narrowed it down to Mickeys. Why Mickeys? Because my brudder & sister in law were staying out dere wit anudder buddy that came to town. Not really knowing what to expect we met there. Both my sister & I arrived late. By the time we got there my brudder & wife had already ordered for demselves and us gyros & fries. The gyros are excellent great flavor,w/fine sliced onions, julienne cut cucumber w/taziki sauce & tomatoes. A generous portion of gyro meat, great blend of Cucumbers and taziki sauce. While I loved the gyros Micki's they have a huge menu selection including a slab of ribs for $18. I will definitely be back again to try some of their other items. Awesome Service good food & good prices

I dropped by on the day of the Betty White centennial because I heard they were doing a Betty White special. My hot dog, fries, and drink were perfection! The staff were so nice and were chatting with customers coming from the centennial events while making the food. Warm, friendly atmosphere and delicious food. I'd highly recommend this place!

I've been to the Chicagoland area many times but never tried a "polish". There were a few places my husband, who is a native, recommended and this one was nearby in his old neighborhood. It's located across the street from a McDonald's and was formerly a Burger King . The owners are two brothers, one of whom was there while we dined in and stopped by our table to make sure we were good. The restaurant has a diner style interior and burger-stand type counter area for ordering. The service was fairly fast if not the friendliest. The menu was extensive and it was hard to stick to my original plan. Besides their namesakes and the items we ordered they have salads, wings, sandwiches, chicken, shrimp and more. I ordered the polish sausage meal (deep fried) -$7.29. My group got the two hotdog special (Chicago style) - $8.29; fish fillet sandwich meal - $6.99; big Mickey meal (cheeseburger and fries) - $6.73 and small vanilla shake -$2.19. We all enjoyed our food, traditional greasy diner cuisine. And my hubby said the milkshake was great which is high praise coming from him.

Large menu, but consistently excellent quality. Most important, the staff is professional and friendly.

Great ribs! Fries or baked potato on the side and you can't miss. We also like the Greek salad--fresh and crisp.

So we went to patronize another restaurant which was phenomenal ( 5 stars) elsewhere. Someone posing as a customer by the name of ' Mayra ' replied and stated ' back in the day' people would call 1st to find out it it was open.... DUH I replied yep ' back in the day' before social media and cell phones one would call first to find out operating hours but in todays world social media is utilized just for that plus why would one call if its posted on Facebook that they were opened today ( Tuesday March 3rd) from 11-9 I got a reply back- from that person who replied something about accountability. What ???!!?? wait, if i were to be the owner of a business and I'm trying to bring in business, i would monitor said websites / web pages advertising with correct info. ( these 11-9 ) hours were posted 2 days in a row have you. Well all of a sudden I can't seem to find the page on Facebook because it seems that that person named 'Mayra' is most likely an / or the actual owner and instead of apologizing and correcting their error , I was blocked from their page because I cannot find it now. & I started following that page. Oh well Sad , because I would've written a very positive review of what I come to find out a little bit ago in searching their namesake & page that they relocated from Elmwood Park to this location in Oak Park. We patronized them in Elmwood Park in years past and although nothing to write home about 'back in the day' , it follows the same today with how the response was- Poor! Poor mgmnt, poor handling = no patronizing this location in Oak Park. We've had way better and real authentic Cuban food at several locations within Chicago city limits. This place, according to reviews I've read is pricier for the quality of food served and obviously from the actions of the ' so named Mayra' who responded to my reply in their post about we were not happy having come all the way from the city to only find it closed , tells you alot about the business and it's staff / owner--- very poor. No wonder for their very few reviews between time. Pictures look good but the service or whomever manages their web pages speaks volumes of what to expect.

I'm actually glad they were closed today, because Chef Daddy's really delivered on flavor and hospitality. I live in the Oak Park area and have passed this spot countless times over the years, but it wasn't until I started seeing glowing reviews all over social media that I finally decided to stop in. The place is small and quaint, with just a few tables for dining in. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by one of the owners. After taking another guest's order, she came over and took mine. I ordered the catfish dinner with double mac and cheese and a side of greens with smoked turkey. While waiting, the owner came out to tidy up the dining area and asked how I heard about them. I told her about the recent social media buzz. A few minutes later, she brought out a couple of samples -- a piece of smoked turkey butt (delicious) and a bean and okra concoction (also really good). That personal touch made the experience even better. Once my order was ready, I headed home to dig in. Let's start with the greens and cornbread -- both were on point. The greens were well-seasoned, tender but not mushy, with a nice little bite and not overly greasy. The cornbread was semi-sweet, moist, and made with white cornmeal -- a perfect match for the greens. Then came the catfish -- and let me tell you, it was real catfish, not swai or some mystery fish like some places try to pass off. The portion was generous, with a great balance between the fish and the sides. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection -- honestly better than Brown's, which to me just tastes like fried MSG. Now, for the mac and cheese -- this was the only miss for me. It had a sweet note, possibly from sugar and nutmeg, which isn't my style when it comes to mac. I know some people like it that way, but I prefer a more savory, cheesy version. Overall, I'll definitely be back -- especially for the catfish, greens, and that tasty bean/okra dish. Next time, I just might try the barbecued turkey butt.
