The owner was also extremely friendly and caring. We will be back every time we visit the Chicago area.

I was pleased to find that Waldo Cooney's Pizza was listed on Uber Eats after it was recommended to…read moreme by Elizabeth C, a yelper out of Berwyn Illinois, who shared a big slice of their pizza, and review! Along with that endorsement, its 4.6-star rating out of 700+ via Uber Eats was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience. Looking through the menu, I took an interest in items like the Cheese Thin Crust Pizza (10" Small), Cheese Chicago Style Stuffed Pizza (10" Small), Vegetarian Pizza, Cheese Calzone, ravioli, Spaghetti, Gourmet Cheesecake, Chee-Zee Garlic Bread, and French Fries. Out of all that caught my eye, I ended up ordering their Cheese Thin Crust Pizza (10" Small) with pineapple as my topping after contemplating on spinach. Whether it be Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at Waldo Cooney's, the employee was finishing up with my order during this ordering experience. Picking up was just confirming my name, ordering platform, and I was well on my way back to my residence. I am grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again is very high. For your information, Waldo Cooney's sits along a busy Cermak Rd, which you will have to keep an eye out for as you are driving up to the storefront. It can easily be missed if you are focused on the fast flow of the traffic on Cermak Rd. And keep in mind you will have to pick the right timing when pulling out your vehicle while leaving because those incoming vehicles on Cermak Rd are something else. As for my order, my mouth salivated prior to my first bite of the Cheese Thin Crust Pizza I ordered. It was presented perfectly, with pineapples infused in with the cheese, and cut into small squares. Very satisfying taste! If you have never had the addition of pineapples on your pizza, then you have no clue what you are missing. Out of my favorite pizza restaurants within a radius, I can see myself ordering from Waldo Cooney's again while in the area because it sure was satisfying. In closing, I had a great ordering experience as I have indicated in this review of Waldo Cooney's Pizza. And as it was recommended to me by Elizabeth C, I share my endorsement of it as well with you all on yelp. Service: 5 | Ambiance: 5 | Food: 5 | Overall: 5 ~Keep it simple. ~ Thomas G

With a wink and a nod, I understand…read moreWHY Freddy's is a cash-only establishment, but this is the only place I've eaten at in Chicagoland this year where I needed to show up with something larger than a $20 bill to feed my family and need cash. If you can get past that part, Freddy's is a must. Solid subs--we did an Italian and a meatball--and the gelato/ice cream situation is ridiculous. Be sure to check your visit timings; for example, right now they are closed for a two-week stretch, I assume for staff vacations, and the hours are limited, because they are an Italian pizza/sub shop and like the ones in the city, they are not open late. But I like the back patio to extend eating space in the summer time, and people can usually move through quickly if they are just ordering the basics. The shop, featuring loads of Italian sundry goods and pasta items, works too...for those living near Freddy's that are missing spots like Bari or the other sub shops on Grand, or The Italian Store in the DC area, Freddy's checks every box.

They have freshly baked bread and a lot of Italian food, ingredients and cooked food. I had just had dinner but I was so tempted to get some risotto or an arancini. The workers are very helpful and knowledgeable. We got a loaf of bread, sausage, cheese, olives, a slice of pizza, and 2 gelatos. If I was hungry I would have ordered a lot more because everything looked so delicious behind the counter. The gelato was so delicious! I really wish I had gotten the Italian ice though because it was so hot outside and it would have hit the spot. I would definitely return as I'd like to get pasta and some of their homemade pasta sauce.

I loved that they had a small outdoor patio to enjoy the weather and be connected with the busy downtown. Their menu had starters, pastas, pizzas, and entrees in a curated format. They serve wine and beer regularly but have a rotating specials menu for cocktails and food. Our server let us know that the bruschetta rotates weekly which is cool. For mains, I got the Ricotta Gnocchi. All of that pastas are clearly homemade. The gnocchi was certainly pillowy and paired nicely with the creamy truffle sauce. My husband got the Orecchiette pasta which could have had a more prominent sauce to it. Overall, the pasta was fresh and ingredients tasted of good quality. The portions for price point seemed a little off as dishes didn't come with a bread basket nor side salad. I wish we would have gotten either a bit more pasta or something else to make the price feel of value. Either way, this was a nice spot to enjoy good company at. Our server, Nina, could not have been nicer and more attentive to our group.
