Mickey's has been through some changes over the years but they've finally found their groove. It's become our west side/Waukee go-to for a relaxing casual dinner and adult beverages. Although the decor is getting a bit dated, and they don't have the newest big screen TV's, its comfortable, food is above average, and service is friendly. You'll find a mix of bicycle riders stopping for a break, young families w/kids, beer drinking sports junkies, empty nesters having a casual dinner, and the usual assortment of regulars. Yes, there's enough room to fit them all (plus a nice covered patio). The menu is one of the best parts with original and variety choices, nicely prepared and fresh tasting. Service is what you'd expect for a place like this and always friendly. If you're in this part of town or choosing between Saints, Draught House or Rookies, this is a great choice for a relaxing, fun time. read more

Since it's so close to where we live, i had to try it. I got the ruben w/waffle fries. Partner got fish tacos & a marg. I probably would not get it again BUT i was impressed with their willingness to make the fries (generous portion, btw) extra done. Fish tacos were a hit, on the plus side! Marg, not so much, but it's an Irish bar. Service and atmosphere were warm. We will make a return visit! read more

What an amazing pub/bar. I was rolling through town on a cross country cycling trip and the owners even gave me a place to stay overnight during a storm. Aside from that - HUGE bar with beers on tap including SingleSpeedBrewing! Great menu with lots of small plates and dinners. Everything I ate was awesome!! Today we enjoyed an excellent breakfast at Mickey's. Breakfast is served 9:00-1:00pm Sat-Sun. Good coffee and alcoholic drinks are available. The mimosas are great! We had the two versions of their Benedicts. My spouse loved the classic Benny, and I had their salmon version. Eggs were prepared the right way for Benedicts. Both of us chose fruit instead of potatoes; the serving size and freshness was "just right." Service is always above average at Mickey's, and to day Heather took care of us. She's attentive, pleasant, and adds some sparkle to the meal. We highly recommend Mickey's! read more

This place is awesome. I have been here too many times and ate and drank my heart out here. Want to give this place the 5 stars that it deserves. The environment is chill. You have booth seating, table seating, couches, pool table, some arcades, picture screen game, and more. Love coming here. And food is 5 star quality. Nachos and wings are to die for. read more

Mickey's was a nice place to stop for dinner and a drink on a recent cold night. I forget how extensive their menu is until we visit each time, but you can really find just about anything to please your tastes. There are plenty of different seating options, and good views of a game on the big screen if a specific team is playing. It can get loud some nights depending on music/karaoke, but it's usually a nice place for a relaxing time. read more

Mikey's, the food was amazing but the best part was Tasha! Wow! She welcomed our two tables, one with 5 kids. She let the wiggly ones help her get the menus, helped them with their ketchup, let them know being good would help them earn their ice cream, got a game set up for them and the list goes one. Have eaten here more than a dozen times. Service has been pretty good on all but a couple occasions. A few good beers on tap and a nice selection of bottled beer. The food quality is certainly adequate, not outstanding, but not bad either. Had Nachos show up cold a couple times. Menu is your typical US pub food, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, wings, nachos, pizza, etc. Burgers are decent, and the Paco Pork Sandwich is good. At some point in the future (if they put more emphasis on food quality) I could see this going up to a 4 star rating. If you are hungry and want to stay in Waukee proper, I'd say go ahead, you should have a decent meal. read more

Music, atmosphere/people, service all good. I would go here to drink for sure and to hang out. I really do detest Waukee but since I'm along for the ride sometimes I have to endure this suburb lol. I was pleasantly surprised to see young professionals my age hanging out there too. Now onto the food! Two of my friends who moved to Waukee said Mickey's had great bar food. We have very different ideas of what great food is however so I was hopeful but expecting crap. Basically, it was just ok. We ordered some good spinach and artichoke dip, which was really tasty actually. I then ordered the ruben, suggested to me by my friend who had it the last time he came. I ate half the sandwich because it was so greasy and the thousand island sauce was mostly ketchup. Good waffle fries though. I had a stomach ache the rest of the night and into the next day from that meal. Stick to the appetizers. read more

Mickeys has a large lounge area with couches. They have a pool table and bar games that will keep everyone occupied. In the corner of the bar is small stage for live music. A nice bar to go to on the weekends with a group of friends with tons of deals on drinks. During the week is a perfect time for lunch the menu is large with plenty of food options at a fair price. read more

I really like this place BUT they are not practicing social distancing in any form. I left before ordering because they sat 8 people right next to me, none came in with masks and they were sat 2 to 3 feet away. There were other tables they could have used. Try the steak salad with horseradish sauce and roasted red peppers -- so good! My bartender was super friendly and you could tell they have a lot of regulars -- the bartender called almost everyone by name. Pretty busy considering it was between meal times, but my food came out fresh and fast. Nothing to complain about here. read more

Mickey's is a great place to hang out and have something good to eat and a drink. They have a large selection of beers. The servers are quick to get orders and to bring the bill when you are done. I have a group of 10-15 bike riders that have a ride and dinner each week during the season and Mickey's is our "go to" place for service and quality food and drink. read more

I went here for a friends birthday. We went on a day when they were swamped with people. The waitress was really good to us all night and found us a table right as we got there. They have a full bar and delicious food. Their garlic cheese sticks are amazing and a meal unto themselves. Also this place has amazing ranch sauce. Mickey's is alright. You're not going to get the best food in town here, but it's standard bar fare. My kids dig it - they're kids, what do they know? They make really good Mules, though. No doubt about that. read more

After living in Dublin, I find it incredibly difficult to find a good pub. Mickey's is one of the better pubs in the area. It is a good place to hang out and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. The food is your standard pub food. It is nothing to write home about, but it isn't horrible. I normally get the reuben. Everytime I order a guinness here I am sorely disappointed. I really want to hop behind the bar and just pour my own. The perfect pint of guinness is all in the pour. Timing is everything. However, Mickey's has a good beer selection to make up for the guinness. read more

The food here has started to go downhill. The Mad Murphy Cheesesteak Bomb used to be one of my favorite sandwiches. I don't know if they changed the meat but there is also hardly any meat on it. I love this place! I have tried everything on the menu and you can't go wrong with anything. You really get the feeling that they are really really into food. You must try the Portabella fries. They are very addictive. The crowd here is clean and you don't have to deal with the a bunch of derelicts at night. This is one bar that I don't mind taking my family for lunch or Dinner. read more

I have frequented Mickey's due to the great patio. This afternoon sealed a patio doesn't make a good bar. The smoking ban DOES apply to your patio. When I told our waitress I didn't want the beer because of the cigar smoke she tried to charge me for it! Will not be going back. But looking for a good patio in waukee. read more
