Received the most gorgeous orchid as a Christmas gift two months ago from Mickey's and it is magnificent still, 2 months later!

This is wonderful! Got two orchids and the experience was out of this world! Super surprised to walk in and see a whole orchid world here.

It looks like an unassuming house from the street. One drives right past saying, now where is that nursery?! So I called as the website did say to call to make sure someone was there as hours can be intermittent. "Yes, we are open. Is that you in the car out there? Come right in!" I was a little dazed as a friendly man took me through the romantic veiled lighting straight to what I was seeking, a vanilla orchid vine (yes the plant that makes vanilla beans!!!). He had about 5 beautiful plants and said he could also provide a cutting. Meanwhile, I kept looking around saying to myself, this is a magical kingdom of orchid fairies waiting for someone to love them. I knew there was a treasure chest waiting to be discovered, but I almost didn't even know how to ask what all this stuff was. I asked here or that at a bizarre plant, but I didn't know how to say, I want to know what every single plant is! I want to make friends with them all! The nice man helping me was also very knowledgeable about the plants they carry knowing the requirements and particularities of the various plants to help you find what you are looking for and to succeed by buying the right plant for your lifestyle and space. Mickey's specializes mainly in orchids, but they also have a few rare varieties of other types of plants. They are connoisseurs of the plant world. No, this is not where you go to buy a cheap plant. This is where you go for something special and to support an excellent local business. Lastly, as I went to check out, I saw some beautiful driftwood art as well as lovely pots lying around. He said don't worry, you'll be back, and I thought...I think I will.

Erik replied, asking for photos of the install site, which I sent them a couple of days later. Erik then asked for the address and my phone so he could come by and look at the install site and give me a quote. I was out of town on business, so replied with address and phone and said the end of the week would be ok. No response. Ten days go by with no response from the company so I email again on 2/20 asking for a status, that I was ready to purchase but needed to know pricing so I could determine how many palm trees and what height I could buy. Still no answer. On 2/23 I email asking if this was too small of a job (I imagine a couple of trees is at least $2000-$2600 so not sure what constitutes small). Never heard from Erik, but the next day I get a call from "Jay". Not sure who Jay is, I only know that Erik has copied him on every email (few as they were). Jay says he needs to come by on Monday and look at the install site. I reminded him I sent pictures and described the install site, but he says he has to come in person. I said I would be at work, but that he was welcome to access the yard from the alley. He never showed (my motion cameras would have caught him) and never heard from anyone again. Finally on Mar 2 (I figured a month was plenty of time for them to get a quote) I told them to forget it, that I didn't plan to spend my money with a company that didn't value my business. In thirty days I received only TWO communications from the owner/mgr Erik, the last one was on Feb 6th. It says the company was founded in 1935. I'm sure the original owners are turning over in their graves over how poorly the company is being managed.

We picked the materials and he wrote an invoice. He said Eric the owner will call to schedule appointment within few days. After a week i called and was told Eric is out of town but will call in 1-2 days. It is 2 weeks now and no calls. Very disappointing. Willy did an amazing job as an employee but the owner does not hold himself to same standards.

They have a food truck "Nando's Grill" but they operate after 5 pm I was told by a very friendly worker. I brought my mom here for her birthday stroll cause she loves plants. It didn't disappoint. There are a number of plant nurseries on this stretch of Flamingo road and this one is rooted in the Japanese and Chinese style of gardens also known as Zen gardens which are characterized by their minimalist style and rock-and-gravel plant beds. Zensation Gardens sells handmade concrete fountains and sculptures from Bali, an interesting selection of bonsai trees, and indoor and outdoor plants that include bamboo, palm trees, gardenias, orchids, and colorful bougainvillea. They also sell artificial grass and offer landscaping design and installations, and LED lighting for your garden. Follow them on Facebook for dates for their beginner bonsai class. If you are looking for an unusual plant or that statement garden piece, I highly recommend stopping by.
