I've been looking around for coconut palm and Washingtonian palms for relandscaping my house after Hurricane Irma. I emailed on Feb 2nd with the specifics and asked to get a quote. Erik replied, asking for photos of the install site, which I sent them a couple of days later. Erik then asked for the address and my phone so he could come by and look at the install site and give me a quote. I was out of town on business, so replied with address and phone and said the end of the week would be ok. No response.
Ten days go by with no response from the company so I email again on 2/20 asking for a status, that I was ready to purchase but needed to know pricing so I could determine how many palm trees and what height I could buy. Still no answer. On 2/23 I email asking if this was too small of a job (I imagine a couple of trees is at least $2000-$2600 so not sure what constitutes small). Never heard from Erik, but the next day I get a call from "Jay". Not sure who Jay is, I only know that Erik has copied him on every email (few as they were). Jay says he needs to come by on Monday and look at the install site. I reminded him I sent pictures and described the install site, but he says he has to come in person. I said I would be at work, but that he was welcome to access the yard from the alley. He never showed (my motion cameras would have caught him) and never heard from anyone again. Finally on Mar 2 (I figured a month was plenty of time for them to get a quote) I told them to forget it, that I didn't plan to spend my money with a company that didn't value my business.
In thirty days I received only TWO communications from the owner/mgr Erik, the last one was on Feb 6th.
It says the company was founded in 1935. I'm sure the original owners are turning over in their graves over how poorly the company is being managed. read more
