How much did we enjoy Micks, you ask? Well......... during our little touristy stops in the Pike Place Market area (June 2023)... not only did we sample several of them (wine flavored, beer flavored, habanero flavored.....) but we placed a hand written ship-to-our-house order to make cheese boards once we were back home in our creature comforts of Napa. How I wish this stuff was available in my local grocery store. All the more reason to stock up so I always have one in my cupboard. As of 12.1.21 they were giving samples again! They have always let me try as many as I wanted, and while they are all tasty, the Hot Raspberry ($8/jar) has my heart by far. It's especially delicious with cream cheese and crackers! You can sample anything you like; they'll give you just a tiny bit on the end of a swizzle stick, which is honestly all you want of some of the spiciest options! Hmm how can I rate a place that I wasn't even able to try? For starters, lets just say I was totally ignored. I stood at the stand for a while, feeling like a total idiot while trying to catch the eyes of the two ladies that were working there. I decided to try a lot of jams, jellies and things under their un-watchful eyes. I felt like one of those backyard raccoons eating the pet dog's food like a criminal. Tail tucked between legs, I strode off. Too bad, I had a shopping list. Disappointed as it was, the neighboring stall was very inviting and so I sauntered over to Woodring and Chukkar Cherries and spent a small fortune. Maybe next time, Mick's. This is located in the public market and SUCH a good find! The ladies there know their jam and aren't afraid to take you through a tasting experience. They are also bad ass and will kindly kick out teens who are helping themselves way too much jam without intent to purchase. After tasting we were so saddened that we weren't able to buy the normal or even larger sized jars (we flew and only had carry-on baggage) but were so excited to see that they had 3 oz jars! We did the 3 jars for discount and ended up getting the pomegranate, raspberry and ghost pepper. Stopped at Mick's, as we were lured in by samples of hot jellies. They were all good. We got Roasted Garlic Pepper Jelly, Hot Pomegranate, and Hot Lime. First of all, I can't believe I'm the first to review this place. I was at Seattle/Bellevue area for a conference and I took some time to visit Pikes Place to be a tourist. So I did tourist things like try samples from everyone who offered and took pictures of interesting things, and trust me this place has a lot of interesting things. Visiting a friend, seeing the sights, and of course we have to go to Pike Place Market. We were walking around, checking out the goods, and we're offered a stick with a taste of jelly on it from one of the vendors. Try it and it's pretty good, try another, it's fantastic... the lady at the booth wouldn't let us leave without tasting at least eight of these jellies! She was enthusiastic, and with good reason... this stuff is fabulous! Since I only took a carry on for my trip, I couldn't take any back with me (though I understand they now have travel size jars?) but I have the order sheet and am trying to justify spending enough to get free shipping... Chardonnay and the Hot Cranberry were my favorites (chardonnay actually tasted like the wine! It'd make a perfect app with crackers and cheese)... the hot ginger was yummy... really, I could go on and on, but you should just check them out for yourself. Still so bummed that TSA took away my jar of garlic pepper jelly. Yes, it is a form of liquid, but it's also a gelatin! Tons of flavored pepper jelly from pomegrante to lime to garlic. Yumm! I cannot believe something like Cabernet Wine Jelly exists... and I had no idea about it! Thank goodness for the friendly and welcoming Micks' staff who gave out a great variety of samples. They had very mild and sweet jellies, to savory jellies, to some delicious spicy jellies. I went home with the Cabernet Wine Jelly and paired it with some crackers, brie and salami... Heaven in my mouth. I definitely want to go back and get some of the spicy jellies to pair with other foods. Thanks Mickes Peppourri! Loved this place. It's a cute little place in Pike's market and the lady at the counter was so nice and energetic! Loved it. We pretty much tasted all of the jellies. I was upset that I asked for the airport safe ones and got 8 oz jars and didn't notice it, so they confiscated them at the airport (darnit), but I am going to order some more to be shipped to me. Delicious. I can't keep this on my shelf long. I tend to lean towards the garlic flavors and use them on everything. But of all the flavors I've purchased or tried I have no complaints. In fact I'd recommend any of them, there's something for everyone. The staff is really friendly and will let you taste just about everything before making a choice. First time I was there it was probably about four years ago. I live in Southern California but my uncle lives in Seattle so I was visiting Pike Place. And let me tell you I fell in love with those jellies, I just went back recently to visit my uncle and immediately got three more jellies and I plan to order them online whenever I run out and I'm not visiting my uncle. I've been reading some of these reviews and they've been stating that the workers are rude but the last two times I was there, I didn't have a problem with anybody. Everyone seemed pretty Pleasant to me, or maybe I was just too damn excited to have jelly I didn't really care! This review is all about the service: I have to say I have never been so humiliated in my life. The girl who was serving samples around 5 o'clock today was so rude. My partner and I were walking thru when she extended a sample out to him, which he took and enjoyed. She then extended one to me that had pepper ingredients in it. I didn't want the sample as I have acid reflux and had nothing in my stomach. I handed the sample to my partner because I knew he would want to try it. She flipped on me saying I didn't have to take it if I didn't want it. I then told her she was fine- meaning I'm not trying to be rude and I, the customer should not have to explain myself! She then told me she knew she was fine- WOW! And to top it all off she then told a customer behind us that she has to keep reminding people that she's fine. Even if it was the same sample, I shouldn't have to explain myself and I shouldn't have been treated that way. read more

I DONT CARE WHAT YOU GET, IT'S ALL GOOD. I'm so happy the hubby actually stopped when one of the girls were handing out samples, bc believe me you, i only stop for physical food, not a dot of pepper spread. But, once she started handing out more to me, i liked it all. With my hot dog, tempura shrimp, eggrolls, burger, on our baked fish... everthing. Surprisingly, my fave is the Death Valley XX Pepper, it's sweet and spice which is perfect for even on top of spaghetti or pizza! We love this place! Every time we come here the girls at the counter are quick with the samples, asking what we like, making sure not to offer the HOT stuff to the youngins though OUR youngins actually like the hot stuff! I think our kids kinda freaked the young lady out this morning when they were asking for the hottest jellies, LOL. We have never bought from them til today because we always have such a hard time choosing what to get! But today, our 3 year old made the choice for us. Cranberry. She loved it. It had a small bite to it but not too bad. We also fell in love even more when we discovered they DO NOT ADD SALT. Hubby and I are both sensitive to sodium and try to be careful in our cooking ingredients. That's what bumped our rating from 4 to 5...no salt. very disappointed in the overall "experience". One of my Chef's highly recommended this store and their online offerings. I received a box of sticky goo because of poor packaging and shipping. My $91 bought me seven jars of 8 oz oz of jelly. ( I ordered 12- but 5 were f-ed up) I wrote to the company on four occasions to express my concern- never heard back. Allow me to preface this with - I have always supported this establishment. Been coming here since I was a teenager and have held it in the nostalgic part of my heart with the utmost reverence. This review is based solely on my last 2 visits: I make it down to Pike Place Market at least 4 times a year, and Mick's is always a go-to. So this past Saturday, I head down to grab my usuals, the Hot Garlic, Hot Pomegranate, and Mild Cranberry. Three women were working the stand, and I walked up to the one that is possibly the owner (older woman that's been working there since I was a tween). She offered out a sample and I said "oh, no thank you. I already know what I want." She responds with "it's just a taste." And I informed her I was battling a stomach bug and that it was hard enough for me to keep down water. Before I could even finish the sentence, she looked over my head and yelled to the empty lobby behind me "have a sample!!!". When the nobody that she offered to didn't come up and get a sample, she turned her back to me and started doing something in the sink. Taken aback, and upon noticing that the other two sales-ladies were busy with customers, I decided to run my market errands with the intentions of returning later. *1 hour time lapse* I return and the same woman, who was obviously more caffeinated (literally jumping up and down), offered me a sample again, not recognizing me. I declined again, and she mumbled to her coworker "jesus. It's just a f-ing taste!" Wait....what?? Did I just hear that right?! Then, as if a switch were flipped, she looks behind me and starts laughing hysterically at a dog. She laughed for about 10 seconds, screeched something incoherent, then ducked under the counter in embarrassment. Then, boom, she's back up again, with a serious look on her face. It was the most unusual display of Jekyl and Hyde-ness I have ever witnessed. Before things got any more bizarre, I called out the 3 jellies that I wanted to purchase and she bagged them up, in what must have been the curt phase of her delirium. I paid for the goods and walked away in a daze, expecting to be on some hidden camera show. But, who cares? I got my jelly! *2 hour time lapse* I walk in my door and unload all of my bags only to find that Miss Hysteria has gotten 2 of my 3 jellies wrong. I try to stay positive and realize that everybody makes mistakes and everybody has bad days. So, I had off this Tuesday and made it up to the market right when they were to open at 9 to switch the jars out. When I arrived, the gate to the stand was pulled closed, and I waited around for 20 minutes; still nobody came. I'm starving at this point, and walk across the street to get some breakfast, assuming someone would surely be there when I returned. I ran into a few friends of mine while munching, so I ended up not getting back to Mick's until 10:30 or so. The gate was open and the lights were on, but guess what? No one was there. I waited for another 10 minutes and finally gave up. I want to keep loving this place. I really do. This past week has just left a really bitter taste in my mouth. 4 stars for product , but 1 star for customer service unfortunately for them, the latter greatly overshadows the former read more

Sad that when you have frequented a store and enjoyed a product for so long that all it takes is one store employee to turn you off for the rest of your life. Take today. I strolled along to Micks, as I have so often done in the past, to pick up selection of pepper jelly. I pick up one of the original pepper jelly's that proudly says "Red Hot" on the front. "That's our medium" says the young lady at the counter. "No" I explain "its says 'Red Hot', not 'medium' on the front. She keeps insisting that it's "medium'. If it was medium it would say 'medium' (unless the folks at Micks are seriously semantically challenged). 'Red Hot' means, well, red hot; a palate scorching fire that will have you clenching southern body parts for a good while. Snippy behind the counter keeps on going off about how she is right and I'm wrong. Me, i could give a crap but she was *so* snippy and *had* to have the last word that my wife and I left. Never to return. So folks at Micks: maybe you "red hot" jelly is "medium" - sounds like madness to me, but I guess heat is all relative. I'm not the expert. But one thing I can tell you as a fact: you have a snippy employee who pissed off at least two long-time customers. read more

Love this place! The jellies are all great, and the staff is very helpful. The young woman that works there is always so full of energy; she obviously likes what she is doing. I've been getting their products for several years, and using them in various ways. Try a tablespoon of the ginger-pepper jelly in a stir fry, or one of the hotter ones as a ham glaze! These are great for gifts, and I use them in the kitchen all the time. read more

I have always enjoyed Micks' products. This year, I did a mail order for over $100. One of the jars was defective- leaking, and with a faulty seal. For safety purposes, I wasn't going to consume the jelly. I sent 2 emails to the company, asking for credit, offering to send them a video to see the defective cap, and, at last resort, to send the jar back, even though the shipping would probably cost as much as the credit. They did not even have the courtesy to reply to either of my emails. They have my address, and, I believe my phone number is included with my order, but no effort was made to contact me. So I bought a defective product, plus I had to buy a replacement item to give as a gift. I don't care how good the product is, the customer service is non-existent. Hope none of you have any issues, because they don't even answer your concerns. Happy to take your money, but unwilling to stand behind the product when there is a problem. A BIG THUMBS DOWN. I'm sure I can find a similar product from a more reputable company. read more
