I have shopped there several times over the 10 years for various upgrades. Although the customer service is excellent, usually there is a wait to get to an employee. I have always been patient and satisfied, minus the wait time. I went there today, just looking. I found an employee named- Donovan H. This guy really made me proud to be a computer guy and a customer. He spent time with my wife and I. Looked through the computer and really gave us the time and respect that set him above. I went from looking around for nothing too buying a complete system and iPad Pro. He went to the computer and found me the best Microcenter sales price. I am a PC building enthusiast and I used to shop exclusively online outlets like tiger direct and newegg. When I discovered micro center I was really excited. They have pretty good selection and they price match my old online outlets. Their staff is reasonably knowledgeable. The reason for the gushing five star review is their service department. After spending nearly $2,000 on a new custom build from micro center I was having some issues with my pc. I brought it in and they ran a diagnostic. The technician told me it could take up to three days for the repairs to be complete. When I expressed my distress they bent over backwards to get my repair done the next day. Not only did they get my repair done quickly. But they replaced my motherboard, which was actually defective, and threw in a new CPU (because I had expressed dissatisfaction with not being able to overclock the current one very well) at no additional Charge. For the bench fee of $40 and the install fee of $80 I got a brand new CPU and Mobo. These guys are great! Highly recommend them for any PC enthusiasts out there!! read more

I took my Apple iMac in for service. The gentleman who checked me in at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. He immediately took the unit back and had his tech "Jonesy" run a test. It turned out my hard drive was the issue. We discussed options and pricing. He said he could have it ready in a couple of days. Later that evening I received a text that the unit was fixed a ready for pickup. Wow, same day service. The next morning I drove over and picked it up. As I was checking out the service department manager came up (unsolicited) and shook my hand and personally thanked me for coming in and allowing Micro Center to perform the service. The whole experience was top notch. I am now a devoted Micro Center customer. Other businesses could take a cue from this example. Outstanding!! read more

Had diagnostics done on laptop and they told me short in motherboard cheaper to buy another computer. 40 dollars for diagnosing and did give back power cord for my a/c adapter had to drive back to get it. Went in tonight and bought iPad and keyboard. When I opened the box for keyboard there was just a broken case. Wow 60 dollars for a broken case with no keyboard for the iPads. I am not even going to open the ipad. I am just going to make my 5th trip return everything and buy my computer equipment somewhere where you can trust what you are getting. read more

Overall: One of the first places I check when looking for electronics in Dallas because of their service and selection. Service: very good. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the products they cover in their department. Selection: Microcenter always tends to have a much wider selection than the best buy stores in the area., but not quite as big as the Fry's thats in Plano. Need to know: They price match other big retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Fry's, and other big online retailers. Additional Information: I came here twice for christmas presents this season because they had what I needed in stock when other stores were sold out. Micro Center really is the best place locally to source computer parts. They have generous return and price matching policies in place. The website is top of the line for a medium enterprise sized company, and they really do get your products ready for pickup within 18 minutes. Lines to checkout can be somewhat soporific, so I always opt for the in store pickup option. Their console gaming section has been all but abolished, but since even Kohl's stocks these things, that might have been the right move for their business. I would be careful when purchasing open box, and previously returned items. Not because Micro Center did anything questionable, but rather their return policies are so liberal that some people will take advantage of it and thus cause these sorts of issues. read more

I had had two excellent experiences here. I brought my wife with me to exchange a small product I purchased the day before. No hassle on the exchange. She decided to poke around while I was getting my exchange. She had been thinking of a new Surface micro computer and has looked at Best Buy and on line. Here, she ran into Elliot in the computer section. He was a wealth of information and really helped us compare several different products. He was very patient and listened to my wife's particular requirements. He is not a one size fits all kind of guy. anyway, we came to exchange a $22 part and walked out smiling with about $1800 worth of new stuff! My wife knows she can call Elliot if she needs accessories or anything else for her new computer. So far, I'm not sold on their products. I was getting ready for a long road trip to GA from TX and needed a portable DVD player for the kiddos. I came here at the recommendation of one of my co-workers since we work nearby. I went in and couldn't find them on my own so I had to ask an associate and he took me straight to them. He was very nice. I found one for $39.99 that I purchased. I also purchased a $4.99 service protection for it as well. Before the trip, we charged it so we could use it without having to charge it up in the car. Initially, it came on fine with no issues after putting in the DVD (it doesn't play BlueRay which I didn't realize but found out because that's the type of one of the DVD's that wouldn't play). My daughter & son were able to watch one video each just fine. At the start of the 3rd, the power went out which was fine I thought because it says up to 4 hour battery life. We tried to charge it in the car and plug it in in the car but nothing worked to get it back on. We figured we'd just wait until we got to our destination to recharge. We recharged before our drive back and unfortunately, it didn't come back on at all even after plugging up in the car and once again at home. No good!!! I took it back and exchanged it today since I purchased the service protection. *I'll provide an update when I use this one. Hopefully, it works better than the first...here's to hope! read more

He helped us locate the best parts for our PC's that would also fit our budget while also being compatible with one another. I use MicroCenter regularly in Dallas. But I have noted that they no longer provide any support for their product. In fact, there is no way to contact them other than on the Net. No support phone number at all any more. And when you use their web support, nobody contacts you. They are on a 48 hour turn around. When I spoke to the store manager (nice guy) he basically said that they no longer answer phones and in fact, there was no way to even call the store. They avoid phone contact like the plague. Their customer service sucks. Whoever the white lady is sitting at the door to the front of the store checking people in on the iPad with glasses really should be friendlier. Not the younger girl who was extremely nice the day before when I went to the store for the first time. Currently you have to sign up online and wait in your car to be allowed into the store. We signed up and when we received the text to enter the store we headed up to the front doors. The day before all we had to do was show the bald man managing the door with an iPad that we received the message and he ushered us right to the young lady managing the iPad. Today when we did the same thing we got yelled at by the older white lady with glasses that there were others in front of us and we needed to move back. That's when I noticed there was black tape on the ground with red signs about social distancing. I waited off to the side as my boyfriend waited in line to allow us in. When the bald man signaled us over to the lady checking customers in I made a comment to my boyfriend standing next to me about the outside being updated daily. I looked at my boyfriend not the lady when I said it and she took it upon herself to roll her eyes and tried correcting my statement. I understand it's crazy trying to manage your front door but that's no excuse to yell at us or be rude. She was hostile with us even after I explained that I wasn't making a rude comment about the process. I was just stating TO MY BOYFRIEND NOT HER that they had changed the outside tape since the last time we were there. Stores are updating everyday with new safety procedures. She rolled her eyes again, shook her head, and ushered us inside to shop lots and spend lots of money. Those were her words. Maybe ask to be moved elsewhere in the store if you are tired of confused people trying to understand your line system outside. As for the inside of the store they have always had everything that we needed available. Pick-up for online orders has been simple enough. The store is fairly organized. No hassle to replace my failing computer thanks to the 2-year warranty! (I was anti-warranty! Thankfully my hubby is not). Arrived promptly at 10:00, with about 8 other folks, stood in the service line, filled out the computer paperwork (the set-up is a lite weird b/c the computers are ahead of the first person standing in line) and picked out my replacement computer. I was told to return in about an hour and they would have it all ready! They did and I was out of there in about 5 minutes! It's a good idea to know what you want to replace when your going to keep things moving. They also price matched Amazon! This place isn't like your average retailer on the inside. It is like a Best Buy but without the home furnishings and where all of the people working there seem to have a fairly high technical knowledge about computers and computer related things. Great store. Employees know their stuff, location of stock. However, I went looking for balance on a gift card i received and they only want to sell you a gift card. The queue is too full and will not accept a place in line for me. You can send a text to that number. Why won't Microcenter publish its phone number? The obvious answer is they don't want to talk to you. They want you to come into the store. That's a waste of 1/2 hour for me for something that should be handled on the phone. I don't know that there is anyway to describe the joy that I feel for micro center this afternoon. I show up to purchase an open box item and they substitute a new one because they cannot find the open box. Then, I receive a free USB drive just for being signed up to receive emails. FREE STUFF!!!! so far, this is the highlight of my day. That, and the coffee from Starbucks this morning. The woman at the service desk was conscientious, kind and courteous. This is the second time in the last two months that I have attempted to purchase a laptop computer in the 2500 to 3000 dollar range and after waiting was told they do not have it in stock. The last time, I purchased a different laptop. I am not rewarding this behavior again, I will purchase elsewhere. If you do not have it in stock , TAKE IT OFF DISPLAY. Not impressed. I completely understand that COVID is causing issues for every company, but there are many companies that are handling these issues properly. Micro center is not. I ordered several items including a computer monitor, an XBOX adapter and a mousepad a week ago online. I received an email two days ago stating that my items were ready and put aside so that I was able to pick up before Saturday (tomorrow). I picked up today and let me tell you, it was a mess. I waited in the lobby for an hour among a crowd of people (which is not really safe right now). They had not put my order aside and were running around trying to grab all of my items. They SOLD the Xbox adapter to someone else. I think this is the first one star review I've ever given. Truly disappointed. read more

I came in today and Jacob M. Helped me out and gave me (Kabylake Z270) instead of a Coffee lake Z370 board for my I7 8700K they told me to get. I got home and nothing happened, I googled and did several searches online and everyone including the Fry's Electronics told me only the Z370 board was compatible with the 8700K. So I called Microcenter and Talked to the salesman Jacob and he kept going on and on about how stupid I am because it's completely fine... Went back and the supervisor refunded it and told me that the two were incorrect for each other. Tried to make contact to ask the salesman (Jacob M) if the item was compatible but all I got was shut down that he is more computer literate then I am.... Microcenter knowingly sells computer components that do not work. I won't spoil which component that is because finding out is half the fun... at least that's what I take their response to my situation to mean. They were aware of the issue with the component before it ever arose in my build, so I don't anticipate them not selling this component to future builders. It's prominently displayed as of today. Buy at your own risk and be prepared to be funneled into their $150 rebuild program if you tire of troubleshooting to identify the broken component they sold you. To be clear, the broken component wasn't a defect as I was instructed to choose a different model entirely during the rebuild process because of a known issue. hmm... So what's the component that will cost you hours of troubleshooting or $150 if you don't have the time to isolate variables and identify and half a dozen trips to MC in any situation? Cost me AT LEAST $100. Placed a order Friday afternoon and waited for the order to be processed for FOUR days. Just got a notification saying the order could no longer be processed. Funny considering i purchased the last one and had a pending payment for that time period. Best Buy can deliver a order in a hour or less. Are you really telling me that Micro center is at least 48 times more inefficient? I understand Covid is wreaking havoc on supply systems, but if your going to render a option impotent you might as well remove it. The simple phrase "Where sorry but do to the incredible influx of traffic we cannot meet online orders at this time" is ALL you need to do. Instead you leave people hanging for parts that are likely going to be gone before they'll fill the order, and credit card charges that may or may not be charged for nearly a week. read more

I have never been so terrified in my life. This place needs to revert to only letting 5-7 customers in the store at a time. Sure they try and take social distancing seriously but only when it comes to the.cAsh register and waiting in line. The isles are a complete nightmare. There is no way possible to actually keep your distance long as there hundreds of people in this store at one time. This location in Dallas is not built for keeping your distance it's impossible. If I were you I'd order online or just not go Neil this whole pandemic is over.I read the review here stating that they clean your hands before you come in it that's not going to work period. I really loved coming here. Usually I go to Fry's but I got tired of how they treated me like I didn't know anything. Micro Center treats you like you know what you're doing there and only answers questions when you directly answer them. It doesn't feel stuck up or like they think they know better. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that everything is kind of lost in a maze of everything else. Not a huge deal as staff is pretty knowledgeable as to where everything is, but sometimes I'd prefer to have no interaction with someone at the store and have a quick in and out. read more

So on this site they advertise a "18 Minute Pickup". Well I tried to use that today, and when I arrived at the store, I was informed I had to stand in the line for the In-Store Checkout in order to pick up my order which they had already pulled. The line was so long that it would have taken 1 Hour or more just to get up the counter where my items were waiting. Nothing was said about this change online. I made it very clear this had to be a mistake, and the associate multiple times told me no, I had to go to the back of the line which was zig-zagged through their store. I left, gave my business to Amazon, and will not be back. If you can argue with me, you can check me out, or you can loose the sale. read more
