The check in process was smooth, staff is polite and rooms are well maintained. Great view of the mountains from the hotel. There are quite a few decent restaurants nearby (around 5-7 minutes drive). The pool and spa area are a little dated. Daily breakfast was ok - mostly cereal, waffle and eggs. Unlimited coffee and filtered water are available near the front desk. Our room was clean and had all the basic necessities, and we had a comfortable stay. They also offer a nice spread of complimentary hot breakfast. Absolutely the WORST customer service EVER! I had booked a reservation since I was having a surgical procedure done early on Tuesday. A week prior to the surgery it was cancelled. I called to cancel my reservation and was told no cancellation policy. I've been a Choice member for over 10 years and I have never been treated this way. We were on our way to Telluride and needed a place to stay for the night. This hotel is in a great location. Step out the front door, and there is a beautiful view of the mountains. Just down the street there is a great outlet mall with shops such as Colombia and J.Crew. The Colombia was very helpful to find inexpensive fleeces and hiking shoes. There is also a good brewery. Around the corner was the Ptarmigan hiking trail, it was straight up, but you have a beautiful view of the city as well as the mountains. Also when we went in June there was plenty of colorful wild flowers. The room at the hotel was inexpensive and was a typical hotel room. Perfect for our one night stay. read more

UPS had technical difficulties and were closed for 3 days. She went back for me every day until they opened back up! Now that is great customer service. The staff is very friendly and I did appreciate the front desk person explaining all the little details about the facility that we needed to know upon check in. The facility is closely located to Hwy 70, an outlet mall, and many dining options. We also appreciated the options for breakfast. The cleanliness of the room could've been better. There was an odd, old smell to the room. The bathroom still had remnants of other guests in the tub and on the bathtub stool. Also, when I booked the hotel online, I requested a room close to the grassy area because we were bringing our dogs and it would be more convenient for us. Upon receiving my reservation confirmation the hotel said they would be able to fulfill my request. But when we arrived, we were given a room on the complete opposite side of the hotel, furthest from the grassy area. When booking online, there was also a mention of a charge for the dog stay but there was no specification of amount. Then at check in, we found out it was a $20 charge per day, per pet. That is extremely expensive for them to barely provide a grassy area for dogs and not even allow the dogs to stay in the rooms by themselves at any time. (Btw, it's a $75 fine if they find you leaving your dog in the room unattended. I'm sure that's $75 per dog.) To me, this hotel is not very dog friendly as advertised. read more

I can't speak to one aspect of this hotel further than the customer service I received when I came in to ask a question. I am staying at a nearby hotel that does not have a gym. My girlfriend is training for a fitness competition and a gym is very important to her. However it wasn't more important than her wanting to save a few dollars and staying at a place without a gym. So after dinner my girlfriend was in a bad mood. So I decided to take a walk, because she's training for a fitness completion and she is super scary when she's in a bad mood (If you ever see this honey I'm totally kidding and love you so much!). Anyway. I walked over to the hotel I am reviewing to see how if I could buy a day pass for the next day. I imagined myself running back to my room and telling her I bought a day pass! I knew she would pick me up, do a couple bicep curls with my jello like body in celebration, then would allow me to make sweet love to her. "I'm sorry sir, we don't sell day passes to our gym." Is what Andrew Grant said to me when I asked him my question. Instantly, I knew my night would now consist of me on the far side of the bed, cowering in fear. (That never happens dear...it's just for...dramatic effect..love you always and forever dear) Are you still reading? Awesome! Here's what I could have said a long time ago. But didn't. I don't want to go back to my room yet. Andrew is an amazing example of what customer service should be. The respect that he showed the second I walked in, his sincere apology that he could not acquiesce my request, and how he went above and beyond. I asked if I could take a picture of the equipment so I could show my girlfriend for next time, or hoping seeing gym equipment would soothe her a little bit. Like food network shows do. Anyway. He also suggested that I could take her to a nearby gym tomorrow that has state of the art equipment. That was great news! I rushed back and woke my girlfriend up and told her! Anticipating a night of sweet sweet love I told her that she indeed could work out tomorrow! With weights! Bonus! However she opened one eye, said "I may sleep in baby...but thanks." And went back to sleep. I stood there, dumbfounded. She actually Thanked me!!! ". So again, I want to reiterate that I have never met him before in my life and that this is sincere. If I owned a business I would hire him to teach customer service. Today. He doesn't need this review, he has a caliber that is very rare in this post-ish Covid time. ...and I'm being generous with the two stars... The worst night of sleep ever in a hotel and I'm not exaggerating. My husband booked a 3 day 2 night stay for my 66th birthday and it was ruined. We walked into the room with the king size bed and a couch and the smell upon entering was overwhelmingly moldy? smelling. When I opened the curtains to see a view of the mountains, or anything green, all I saw at my eye level, not at foot level but at eye level, was concrete and cars. No shrubs or trees. Which meant, no open window to get fresh air at night. Which meant, listening to the air conditioner cycling on and off all night. When the air conditioner cycled off, the refrigerator would cycle on and off. The bed was so bad, I would bet my life that prisoners get a better night sleep on their cots. One little movement on this mattress and it squeaked. It was like something out of a comedy skit. I ended up sleeping on the couch. Not exaggerating. The standard pillows, all 5 or 6 of them, felt like they were stuffed with rolled up socks...still not exaggerating. The next day, we had a tee time for golf and I could barely play due to lack of sleep. We tried to cancel our second night of stay at the hotel on the the very first day we got into our room and we were told no because we had to give 48 hours notice. Not the normal 24 hours. We left a day early and lost our money. Do not believe the good reviews. They can't be from real people or from people that stayed the night. read more

After getting a confirmation from booking.com that my reservation was cancelled, and the hotel would provide me a full refund, the hotel used my credit card on file and still charged me. Even after I emailed him the cancellation confirmation. He also said it's not his fault that booking.com did not contact him regarding the cancellation and that it's my problem to deal with. So now we are raising this to a legal dispute. Additionally, I'm not fond of hotel management yelling at customers over the phone. Especially over $240. read more

Would give it no stars if possible. The hallway and room smelled like smoke even though no smoking is allowed. The bathroom tile was cracked and felt dirty. The front desk called at 10:15 pm when we were in bed (and so was our 7 year old) because someone complained of noise and they called in case it was us. She let us know her uncle is the manager when we complained about her behavior, as if that is an excuse to be rude. We left our stay early. We will never stay here again!! They both need customer service training. (Had I done that, I never would have stayed here). Tara yelled at me from the front desk into the breakfast room because I used the waffle spray that the lady working at the breakfast area used the day before. We had 2 waffles stuck and trashed so she used it. It was below the cabinet but I didn't "plunder through counters" as he stated. He was very dramatic in saying that. And I wouldn't have used it had I known it was an issue for her. Tara yelled that the spray wasn't safe...I simply asked her what to use instead and she said to clean the waffle machine out each time. That was her solution. Then she accused me of rummaging through the cabinets and I explained I used it because the lady working there told me to use it. It wasn't a big deal and Tara made it one. She continued to complain, talking to herself and was so rude. There were other people there during all of this. She could have walked over to me and kindly explained that spray isn't meant to be used in between waffles. But then really the lady working in the breakfast area should be told, because she told me to use it. During all of this the lady walked over, sprayed it again after Tara said it was unsafe and told me it was fine. It literally was no big deal but Tara's rudeness made it a problem. She wasn't in control and let her emotions get the best of her. When I walked over to explain how I didn't appreciate how she had handled it, she put her hand up to my face. When I asked to talk to the manager she said she was one. And that her uncle is the gm, as if that mattered to me. The way she conducted herself is a reflection on your management style Paul. So I didn't want to waste my time. We checked out. If it was a safety issue like she kept saying I'm surprised you use that spray. I wasn't going to take the time to post the details. But I won't be called a liar by my honest review. I will never stay there again and will advise others the same way. Maybe next time you should consider that you may not have all the facts Paul, as you weren't there, before criticizing a customer and defending your niece/manager. read more

From the moment we walked in the experience was awesome! Tyler was the front desk attendant on duty and he was great. They got us into a beautiful room with a hot tub in it! He offered us a military discount and they are very veteran (well military) friendly. We stopped here for one night on our way through and it was the perfect spot for us. Very upset about my stay. The man at the front desk was so awful! So rude and disrespectful!! I checked into my room the carpet was completely soaked! And there was blood on the curtain rod! Strong smell of bleach. Also booked a king room and just because I asked for the 3rd floor where my family was staying he switched my room to, two queens instead that is not why I wanted. Went down and told him he gave me attitude and laughed and said "well it was a deep clean I doubt there is blood but okay" and kept laughing. I told him to come look and he said no thanks I'm good. Switched me rooms, we asked if there is anything he can do for us and he just switched rooms didnt care what so ever about anything else. So In the end I still got stuck with two queen that was more expensive after I booked for a king room that was cheaper. Why would they put a guest in a room that just got deep clean and the carpet is soaked and strong smell of bleach? I will make sure I never stay at this hotel again. This place is practically stuck in the 70s. The design was outdated, walls were paper thin, and the pool looked like a cess pool as it over flowed with spring breakers seeking refuge from the slopes. The "workout room" is something the hotel could have done without since it got my hopes up and let down when I found a barely functional treadmill in a room about the size of my small bedroom in my manhattan walkup. Two stars for doing what they are supposed to do--doors locked, beds were clean, showers were hot. The only protein choice for breakfast was a hard boiled egg and it wasn't good and breakfast was broken down an hour before checkout time. The toilet seat was worn and old and should've been replaced long ago. The pros: The outlet shops, Blue River, and Rainbow Park were in walking distance. The hot tub was nice. We had a King Spa Suite~ Layout of the room was awesome. Walls never once let noise in, not even from the hallway and my dog hears everything. Comfy bed, but was off taken by the half pillows? Was very disappointed to find the fireplace broken (In the middle of January) and the heater fumed electrical fire smell when I tried to turn it on. The spa tubs facet was tiny, it took a long time to fill the tub. And one of the bedside lamps were broken, and trash under the couch. Quality check inn, very quick and pleasant. Cookies and mints at the front desk, a nice touch. We were on our way to Denver however there was a snowstorm and we were forced to pull over because we didn't have the right tires to make it up the I-70 hill. We were able to get a room for two plus our dog here relatively easily, which was a relief. The elevator was very small. The hotel and rooms seem dated, though decent. The towels were thin and the soaps/ toiletries were "eh". There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room, where we were able to store the leftover pizza from our ($$$) delivery. I was ready to get on the road ASAP in the morning. We did not see the breakfast bar; I had read it was waffles and hard boiled eggs etc... which sounded unappealing to me. Overall, it was fine. I'm grateful we were able to get there safely and get some rest. I personally wouldn't return if given the choice. read more

I'm only giving 5 stars because in a perfect world the day manager would be unemployed, and the vaping guy with tattoos would own the entire chain of hotels. If I had my choice, and I was a trillionaire, I would have made him quit and hang out with my girlfriend and I the rest of our trip. An absolute Georgia peach this guy was. The day manager however, sheesh, what a rube. My rocky relationship with him started on the first morning when I was eating the tastiest continental breakfast waffle I'd ever eaten (I think they spike the mix with sugar). I asked if they happened to have peanut butter, because obviously waffles are better than crack with a little PB on em. Without so much as blinking, looking up, or even twitching, he responds with; "DO YOU SEE ANY OUT THERE?". Now, because I was raised a god fearing Christian, I gave this man a pass. Who knows, his cat could have just died, his mom may have been threatening to make him move out, you just never really know. Regardless, next morning comes around. Not a soul in sight, sitting all by myself drinking my coffee (also spiked with some sort of addictive substance). I politely ask him if I could possibly change the channel from the dreadful local morning news show (who cares about water skiing turtles, and why is that news?) to the World Cup...folks it only happens every four years. In true grinch fashion, and I mean the grinchiest of grinches, he replies; "Absolutely not, why do you think guests have tv's in their own room?" What kinda malarkey is that?! I was blown away, I wanted my tattood vaping buddy back, I was torn to pieces, and I missed an insane bicycle kick in stoppage time. Alls well that ends well though, as my girlfriend left her ring in the bathroom and they packaged it up and sent it to my house across the country. I expressed my need for a room and was met with two arrogant and ignorant employees who had the customer service skills of a local drug dealer. They were extremely impersonal and quoted me 122$ for less than a night, they lied to me and said that every other hotel in town was twice as much. Extremely rude staff with horrible customer service. When encountered with the terrible customer service I asked for the managers name and advised I would discuss the short comings of my stay in the morning. About 30 minutes later at 10:30 at night we get a call from him kicking us off the property by 11pm. This is coming from a guest that spends 200+ nights a year in a hotel. Even though there isn't a Hyatt in Summit County the Hyatt Diamond member customer service desk they were able to find detailed wonderful accommodations. Attempted to check in late night. After repeated attempts to rouse the clerk, ended up having to call the hotel in order to get him to come to the front desk. He then informed us that he was locked out of his computer and couldn't find our prepaid reservation. But if wanted to wait at least 30 minutes, he could attempt to access his system again. No guarantees that he would be able to get in. Considering it was 1:00 o'clock in the morning, it was not a consideration to wait to see if he was successful. No offers to make his guests comfortable while waiting. The alternative was to have police escort us off the property. Definitely need some lessons in hospitality and guest service. read more

This is the best bang for your buck in this little ski town. The rooms are very clean, the beds are really comfortable, the pillows are the softest I have ever slept on, the pool is warm and clean and the swim hours go until 11pm, the hot tubs are hot and clean, one outside one inside. Oh yeah the pool is indoor also. Plenty of towels, Breakfast is hot, ready and good. My family and I stayed in the family suit, room 319, a pull out and bunkbeds in the large living room, king size bed in the master, with a kitchenette, fully stocked with dishes, pans and anything else needed to cook and eat with. All of the amenities at the great hotel are perfect, but none of that would matter if it wasn't for the amazing staff! Attention Upper Management; I am a business consultant for small business from everything from customer service, merchandising, marketing and atmosphere. Let me tell you from one pro to another your front of the house sets the standard for what one hopes for when checking into a Hotel. Tyler is a wonderful young man with a great smile and amazing customer service skills. He is helpful, nice, informative and just an all around good person that likes his job and the people he is dealing with. This young man is going places. He is full of positive vibes. The young woman, Tara, is another amazing employee that serves up perfect customer service and a beautiful smile. She was so helpful and considerate of all of my families needs. In fact we locked our keys in one of our vehicles and she came to our rescue by calling the local authorities and having them come assist us. She goes over and above her call of duty! We stayed there this weekend for a wedding. While the hotel is pricey, they had very good customer service. The room was nice a spacious as it was a King Size Suite. They didnt have much for cooking utensils. One thing that I was disappointed in is the fact that they stop serving there continental breakfast at 9am. We missed it by 5 mins and it wasn't come on down and grab what was left it was no it ended at 9am. Overall I did like the atmosphere and the lady that greeted me and the interaction when I left. read more

I didn't even stay here and had a bad experience. We booked 4 rooms at this hotel for my wedding and after reading many negative reviews about the pet policy, I decided to email the GM- Paul regarding their pet policy and the pet being unattended for minimal hours of the day. I am getting married therefore we cannot take our dog to the wedding and to dinners. Not only was Paul rude and snarky in his response instead of polite & mature, Paul said he would call the humane society to pick up our "abandoned" pet if we leave our dog for a couple of hours at a hotel.... which might I add is NOT abandonment. (AND what a response to a simple question!) Our dog is well behaved and sleeps. He has traveled all over the US with us and has NEVER been a problem in a hotel, nor have we ever had problems like this with a hotel. He said Colorado has abandonment laws so I looked them up and it says "abandonment means to forsake entirely, neglect or refuse to provide or perform legal obligations to care for and support an animal" LOL NOT leave an animal in a hotel room for 2-3 hours (well fed & brought to the bathroom before). This guy is a joke. We did cancel our rooms but I would not recommend this place to anyone! I believe someone else needs to run this place- based on the reviews regarding Paul. Or just don't make the place pet friendly if it's actually not. read more

When arriving to my room the second day of my stay I noticed a natural gas smell and quickly went to the front desk to inquire to be sure my grandson and I were safe. I was told there had been a gas leak but it is now repaired. The General Manger, Paul Knapp told me to "go ahead and open my door and windows if I would like". No apology or explanation. Hmm, this from a so called General Manger! Later that evening I went to bathe my grandson and there was no hot water so I went back down stairs at around 7:40 and let them know I didn't have hot water and was curtly told I would have hot water by 8:00, once again I was made to feel like I was creating the problem, not there problem to solve. So I thought ok I will wait. 8:30 still no hot water and I needed to put my grandson to bed. I thought something else may have happened as they had not been forthcoming previously. I went back to the front desk and spoke to the front desk person, Kevin, and let him know I still did not have hot water and were they going to compensate for this inconvenience. His response "I am not going talk about this with you and you can talk to Paul in the morning" I asked his name and he curtly pointed to his name tag and said "it's right here" which I couldn't read and he then reluctantly gave me his name. The water was lukewarm by 9:00 pm and maybe warm enough by 9:30 to bathe, of course my grandson was asleep. All of this could have been handled professionally as I realize things happen out of our control, but what counts is how it is handled. I was made to feel I was the problem, I just thought hot water was expected in a hotel or an explanation with an apology. The so called General Manger called the next day (I had written on their comment card) not to apologize but as he said "for me to vent". So after the made it clear he only called to "let me vent" he apologized with a "but" and proceeded to give me all the excuses for their actions and made it clear his perspective was different, so really no apology just trying to justify his and Kevin's bad behavior. He offered me a free night at his hotel. Are you kidding!!!! I will NEVER stay there again. I have stayed in many hotels and have never been treated in this manner. If there were problems other hotel staff were very quick to apologize and try to make my stay better. Well Paul, I "vented" again as I will on other customer review sites, not yours though as I am sure it would never be shown or you would answer with all your many excuses.
