Like: The staff was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant all around. The breakfast was amazing and so many more options with fresh and tasty food you don't get everywhere else. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, very good and informative/proper posting about health safety with covid requirements during our stay. The shower had great pressure and bathroom was surprisingly decent size compared to the room. The windows can be sat/laid on with one long cushion, perfect for lounging with the tv or reading a book if you're looking to during your stay. Close to lots of eateries and parks, staff was helpful in recommendations. Dislike: The room was quite small (really cramped if you brought an animal) with no amenities other than tv but it is in the name as a microtel. The free wifi basically had no connection so it wasn't useful at all. The towels were pretty rough, but the killer for me was the TERRIBLE BED. I had to take a muscle relaxer and pain reliever the next day just to get through the ache of my back sleeping barely 3 hours as the bed was so hard and uncomfortable. If I'm paying for anything at a hotel, the bed is the number one thing to be good and this was far from it. It was hard as a rock and you could basically feel the springs, these need renovated for sure as it will be the main and only reason I will not go back to this or others worried other chains are the same. I asked for extra pillows the next night just to sleep on them and try to recover but they don't have many extra of those around either so it was still a somewhat rough night's sleep. Parking was rough our second evening and as their smaller lot filled up, we had to park at the dunkin' donuts next door which was a bit odd. read more

On a whim, my husband and I left on a weekend getaway. No accommodations booked. We found this beautiful hotel in Olean Ny. Located right across the street from A University. It was amazing. Clean, affordable & best of all the staff was just outstanding. In particular was Brandon. He checked us in, gave us the run down on every amenity offered. He was friendly knowledgeable and was at the desk every time we needed assistance. Breakfast was included with our stay which included waffles made to order. Good coffee with many other selections. Rooms were spacious clean and modern. Bathroom fully stocked with everything, no need for shampoo conditioners body wash even make up remover wipes. Best of all it was Quiet! 5 stars. read more

Stay away. Worst parking lot ever. It's not much fun to carry luggage 500 feet across a remote parking lot in the rain. Each staff member I spoke with had a lousy attitude. I asked to changed rooms for a reason. When you chosen not to accommodate, you failed to do your job. I had neighbors drinking, smoking weed and acting like fools. They also threatened violence. Instead of removing them, or simply moving my room, I paid to stay in a crappy place surrounded by scummy people. Gee, thanks. This morning, when I spoke with the manager, she was rude. She interrupted me. She deserved to see the middle finger I showed her, and the property deserves less than one star. read more

This was a last minute stop on a road trip from Niagara Falls and we were extremely pleased. The hotel is located directly across from St. Bonaventure college and right next door to a Dunkin Donuts. The parking adjacent to the hotel is extremely small, but they do have an extended parking area nearby. Check in was very easy. The gentleman at the front was very pleasant and checked us in quickly. He gave us our WiFi password and let us know about the continental breakfast in the morning. The room was great! It was a mini suite and there was plenty of places to sit and work on our laptops. There was even a padded window seat to sit and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. The cost was reasonable and the town was adorable. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay here. read more

Nothing fancy about this hotel- no frills- we did not have a microwave or fridge in our room. Our toilet got clogged on our first day- the man at the front said they are old toilets and you may have to just hold them down longer, their maintenance man hasn't been working because of COVID he gave us a plunger and it started working better. The shower drained so slow, most times we were standing in about 2-3 inches of water that wasn't draining. Nothing special, but nothing wrong for the price. read more

This hotel has a pleasant atmosphere merely manages to reach "comfortable". It's a very no frills experience, though admittedly they do have a fairly nice continental breakfast. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the rooms are clean, and everything was in good working order during our stay. Most surprising the beds were some of the most comfortable I've ever had at a hotel, earning it a 4-star review from me. Would definitely stay here again if I ever had the need. read more

We stayed 2 nights August 24 and 25 2023. The room was small but overall comfy. The only complaints I have is the tub was very slippery there should have been hand rails or a slip proof bath mat in the tub.. The breakfast was standard. The wi fi was very spotty. My hubby and I just got married yesterday (9/12/20) We booked the Jacuzzi room for two nights. The first night was fine because we got here late at night and we settled in and went to bed. 9:00am this morning (9/13/20) I woke up to music blaring and bass just bouncing off the wall. It went on for hours. The hubby and I left to do some things and came back to the room and maybe an hour later the music started again. We went to front desk and they spoke with the guest. It stopped for a half hour and then it started again. Finally after another hour of listening to it we asked for a different room. Thankfully they agreed. I really wanted the Jacuzzi and I paid the extra for that since it was our wedding night and I didn't even get to enjoy that. read more

This is what you would expect from the Microtel chain. Small room, no frills, no lamps just fluorescent lights. This hotel is immaculately clean and in good shape and worth the low rate. I am traveling for business and spending two days. I NEED INTERNET!!!! I do my paperwork at night and need internet to submit my daily orders and follow up on emails. The first night, the internet was in and out, mostly out. Tonight there is no internet at all. I am sitting near the window as I write this so I can get the internet from the Dunkin Donuts next door, UGH!!!!! Fine budget hotel but if you need internet don't stay here. # To the budget traveler: $65 for 1 night through expedia. I found that this is a great place to stay for 1 night while on a road trip. I have been in many road trip hotels and this was the best value that I have seen. I stayed here for 1 night on the way to Cleveland and paid $65 through expedia. It was the best deal I could find on expedia and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The furniture was new and clean. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The continental breakfast was better than most road trip hotels. There is even a gym with 3 cardio stations. It is not a 5 star hotel, but it deserves at least 4 stars for the value. There is no pool and not much nearby except busy roads. However, for the price and the quality I must give it 4 stars. read more

The hotel has four parking spaces near the front. All other parking is a bit of a walking distance away. The air conditioning unit in our room wasn't operating properly. It kept clicking on and off all night keeping us awake. Our room was never cleaned or made up twice. We had to sit in the foyer waiting for it to be cleaned the first time. We just asked for clean towels and told them to skip it the second time. I am extremely disappointed in Wyndham and will not stay here again. read more

The first night staying here was nice and quiet. This young man was kinda to my sister and I. Clean room. 2nd night it sucks. It was 4am and been trying to sleep but someone been playing music loudly and of course I was pissed after. Go down to desk to tell this lady about it. I am staying here for 5 days with my daughter... I live far from here. She was giggling and playing and the front desk called and Jennifer said "calm your kids down" in a rude manner instead of appreciating happy kids. This is the only time I get with her and I refuse to have it ruined by rude staff. Previously we stayed at University Inn and Suites and they were much friendlier. They remembered my daughter s name and were always happy to talk to her and see us. I have 4 more days already booked and I am severly disappointed. I had arranged two nights with this hotel. One for this month and one for a wedding in May. I was told by a woman on the phone that even if I booked online, I could call to cancel or make changes. This was not the case. I tried twice to get the wedding room canceled and was met with resistance. The second attempt I had to speak to a manager who was very aggressive and extremely rude. While she pointed out that I missed fine print when I booked online, the way she spoke was very unnecessary. Needless to say, when we arrived that evening for our December room, it was not the best. Right next to the elevator, a tv that was so fuzzy you couldn't make anything out, and a heater/fan that hardly worked. I highly recommend you stay elsewhere. read more

We have family in Olean and have been staying at this location for over 10 years. The rooms have always been clean and the staff friendly and helpful. This weekend we made a last decision to visit and all hotels were booked. I called the Microtel and they got me a room for Friday and then called me back when a room came available. The Saturday night room was different than Friday night room so we would have to move, but I did not care. When I arrived at the hotel, I learned that they had worked it out so I did not have to move rooms. They went above and beyond in taking care of me. I appreciate that. Omg! Can't express how nice this inn is! Perfect place to stay when needed we have stayed two different times for so cheap! Great space in room! Very quiet and surrounded by nice local food! The prices are always so low and reasonable for such a nice little place! Staff is always super friendly when we arrive and leave! The breakfast included is a very nice setup! The worst hotel experience we have had in years. If you are looking for a place to rest comfortably with great customer service, this is not the place for you. It is unsanitary, loud in the evenings, in need of basic maintenance upkeep, and the hotel management is unprofessional and aggressive. Also, do not prepay for your stay. We chose to cancel our stay one night early and they refused to refund us. Glad that Travelocity stepped up and reimbursed us. I highly recommend the Fairfield Inn next door! read more
