She did call around 10:00pm, while we were in bed, and said she could move us to a bigger room. We were already sleeping . The room we got was extremely dark, with old furniture and paint chipping. The bartender in the bar, said he cold make anything, then didn't have what I wanted. Gave me a substitute liquor, which was not even close and made me sick. The continental breakfast was scones, packets of oatmeal, some fruit and some dry cereal. Bad Coffee and 10 tea bags, none of which I would ever drink. They consider this an artsy boutique type of hotel, I felt like we were on "Skid Row". Marriott should cut ties!!!

Very upset about my stay. We checked in Friday night from a…read morelong day of driving and settled into our hotel. From the looks of it, our beds seemed clean and the room seemed clean. We had alarms set for 6am to continue driving on and when I woke up, I noticed a Bed bug crawling on the pillow (it was a baby bed bug). Upon inspection, I noticed an adult sized bed bug crawling on the other side of the bed. We were utterly disgusted and have never had this experience elsewhere. We took photos so we had proof to show the desk attendant named Cynthia as well as put both bugs on a napkin and brought them to the front desk. She saw them and squashed them because she said she did not want them to get away. The big bed bug was filled with blood. We felt super gross and asked for garbage bags to put anything we had brought into the room into the bags so we did not bring any home with us. My sister had welts on her legs from being bit in the middle of the night. We asked for the manager to call us back that day. We received a call from the desk attendant saying the manager approved $40 off our stay equating to 25% off. Obviously, with our room being priced at over $150, $40 did not seem fair for all the trouble we had to do to now sort through our stuff when we got home. We later received an email from the manager saying they had "an in house inspector" check out our room and found nothing. Just because you don't visibly see them during the day, does not mean there are no bed bugs. We received another call from another desk attendant and that is when we spoke up asking for at least half our money back from our stay. We did not enjoy the free breakfast they offered, did not get to enjoy the pool, and instead rushed out of the hotel because we did not want to be there any longer. We asked to speak personally with the manager over the phone and it has been about 7 days and no word from anyone. We even sent pictures over email of the ones we took that morning, which are attached to this review. Utterly disgusting and very dissatisfied. Very disappointed in their manager and the managers refusal to call us personally.

They claimed that occasionally one comes from the outside and they address it immediately, but for bugs to be on a third floor, there is probably a bug problem. Also, a family member went to work in the lobby area around midnight or early in the morning and when she went to get back in the room, she could not get back in. she went to the front desk for help and could not find the attendant. Waited around 30 minutes and there was still no attendant. She finally was able to wake us up and we let her in. They offered to give us membership points back, but the points were insignificant to a very unpleasant stay.

(Dinner can also be ordered for an additional fee but again, king sized portions and so delicious! ) The Inn is located in Chatsworth, close to Fort Mountain and the cute town of Ellijay is on the other side of the mountain. Bathroom was very large & somehow also cozy [I think it was the warm heat coming out of the floorboard vents each time I stepped out of the shower lol]. Breakfast each morning was a 10/10! Bill is a boss in the kitchen. The homemade granola and lavender peach 2nd course were our two favorite things! If you plan to take it easy at the b&b one evening, go grab takeout brisket from Trinity in Dalton or truffle shiitake pizza from Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza and bring it back up the mountain. One of the best nights we had was eating pizza and playing giant Uno in the common room. [the giant Uno is in the basket to the left of the common room's fireplace!] Be sure to take a left when leaving the b&b so that you can see the INSANE views!! The road down the mountain to the left is SO beautiful! Things to Consider: -A more size inclusive option for the robe. My husband looked so cozy in his robe and I was disappointed that the size large was a bit too small for me. Having a few plus size robes on hand might be something to consider. Having a spot in the room's notebook that mentions larger robes are available upon request would help curvier guests feel that much more welcome & included :) -A way to text or send a message to Bill or Nicole when we have a quick question :) Thanks so much for having us Bill & Nicole! The staff here is so friendly and the breakfast is better than I've experienced at any other Hampton inn. Biscuits every day, southern style gravy, berry waffles, or chocolate waffles (not both on the same day), it's so good. Housekeeping every other day with full service every fourth. It's good that way. I never had any trouble parking or with construction noises. There are very few spaces in front so you'll need to park out back and either walk around or use your key to get in the building. Some spaces are taken up by construction trailers but I still saw plenty of parking. Price is not too bad, in dollars or points, especially if you book well ahead of time. My room was quiet despite being right next to the elevator, further rooms are likely even quieter. Unfortunately all they had available when I selected my room was right next to elevator on second floor or same room on fourth floor which also had adjoining room. I figured second floor without adjoining room would be quieter and was right. It was fine. All in all a very nice hotel, not much nearby though since this is rural Alabama. Chains and a couple mom and pop shops in downtown scottsboro a couple miles away.
