When we discovered mold in our attic, we got 3 estimates to remove it…read more The first estimator came out, said we had a very bad mold problem. On a scale of 1 to 10, our attic was a 7. We were quoted a price of $17000.00!!! But we qualified for a discount down to $14000.00??? Were we ready to sign the contract? NO. The next estimator that came out wanted to treat just half the attic, he said that's all that was affected. I had to show him where the mold had spread everywhere. I told him I wanted an est for the entire attic, and to also have the insulation removed and replaced with roll out insulation. He emailed the estimate the next day. Approx $4000.00, and he said he couldn't remove or replace insulation, but that shouldn't matter, because the treatment will kill the mold in the insulation. NO THANKS. I called Green Clean, spoke to Steve, he came out the net day. The attic was given a thorough inspection. The following day I got an estimate of approx $7400.00 to treat the entire attic with a 10 year warrant, to remove all the old loose insulation and replace it with new roll out insulation. SOLD! The work was done the following week. We were able to stay in the house while it was being treated, because of the green products that were used. We could have saved some aggravation by calling Steve at Green Clean, in the first place.

We entered into the Appraisal process with our insurer in April of 2023. When Wayne was hired as our independent appraiser, most of the rebuild had already been completed. The required mitigation and reconstruction back to original specification condition was very complicated due to the structure originally serving as an office building before it was repurposed to luxury condominiums in 2020. Restoration work was well under way when Wayne was hired. Hiring an appraiser at this stage of the process is difficult for any appraiser. But Wayne spent countless hours onsite understanding the scope of the damage, mitigation and rebuild parameters. In addition, his knowledge of the appraisal process and required documentation was impressive. While maintaining complete independence, he guided us throughout the entire process. His effort resulted in an award that provided the association the needed money to restore and repair our homes to exactly the way they existed prior to the damage. Without Wayne's expertise and knowledge, we would have received less than 1/2 of the money from our insurer necessary to make the repairs.
