June, the estimator was 40 minutes late. He was supposed to be here at between 9 and 11am. I texted him at 9:07am to ask if I had time to run a 30-40 minute errand. He said, "... I should be finished by the time you run the errand." That would mean he would finish around 9:47 and be on his way. Normally, service folks call or text if they will be late. He didn't. He showed up at 11:40. That was 40 minutes later than the maximum originally scheduled time of 9-11 and 2.75 hours after we texted. I doubt it took him 2 hours to drive to my house. Once he got to my house, June looked at the meter and was telling me various things that were needed. All was fine. Then he said it would cost between $5.5 and $8k. I'm a curious person, so I asked what the difference was and he said, it depended on what needed to be done. So I asked what would need to be done for the $5.5k vs the $8k. He acted like this was a difficult question and said he needed to look at the panel. He then looked at the panel. He seemed shocked that it was in my kitchen, just on the other side of the meter. Then he asked to see my water shut off. I asked him why he'd want to see that, as I walked over to my utility closet. I didn't think it was a mean or difficult question. He became visably aggitated! He said, "I'm just trying to help you!" So I said, "I know that. It was just a question. I'm not questioning your ability. I'm sure you know what you're doing." I tried to explain that I'm a very technical person. I was just curious as to what my water shut off had to do with anything. Finally he said, without looking at it, that it would need to be upgraded, because it would be inspected. I then made the mistake of asking why they'd want to inspect my water shut off. He got very upset again, started walking toward my door and said something like, "have a nice day," and walked out. I still don't know what the water has to do with the meter/panel inspection. Also, if he had looked, he would have seen that the furnace, water heater and all of the attached pipes were all brand new. I've never, in 30 years of owning a house, had another service person have that type of reaction to questions of curiosity. It's not like I was questioning his ability to do his job! Even if he originally thought that, I already explained that I had no doubt of his ability! Is it wrong, these days, to ask a question to a service person who is providing an estimate? read more

There aren't enough stars - I need 10. I called after requesting quotes on Yelp. Mr. Kim is responsive, considerate, timely, thorough, and a phenomenal value. I had a weird issue with half of the outlets went out but the breaker did not flip. I had other electricians in who couldn't figure out the problem and charged me $300 leaving me with the same issue. Mr. Kim came in and promptly began triaging my issue. And it was really an odd issue. After a thorough root cause analysis he determined one outlet was bad and it was "breaking" the connection to the other outlets. He also changed another outlet and put light bulbs in an overhead fixture. He left my place better than he found it, was very clean and kind.
