I used to come here for well-priced finds. You've got to bring your own truck or hire task rabbit to get furniture purchased here to your home. Think all the inconveniences, but now, none of the finds. I was offered a discount today, of 20 percent if I spent over $500, to start. That's a commitment. To me, it feels like the secondhand goods remain, but the treasure hunt is not yielding any treasure.

I decided to look it up so my girlfriend, her sister, and I can go and check it outwhen. Lord behold it's in Berkeley! Ok, not a big deal, but we all kept thinking that they should fix the location across social media videos. We get there and parking isn't easy to find. You have to park in or around the other warehouses in the area or a couple of blocks away. After we found parking we made our way over and oh it was a huge disappointment to behold. I think we only stayed for a few minutes before we called it a bust and a waste of time. Do not, I repeat, do not believe the videos that these social media influencers are feeding your algorithm. There was so much trash, broken products, and some of the furniture that could be salvaged had ridiculous price tags on them. Some sets were incomplete, coffee mugs were cracked, tools rusted, and when asked about certain electronics working conditions they either didn't know or refused to check. Needless to say we were unimpressed and never coming back.

Several years ago we visited Mid Century Mobler in SF with my cousins who were visiting from Kansas...they bought several pieces and had them shipped to their home and really appreciated the service and the furniture. They were visiting again this August and when we discovered the store had moved to a bigger space in Berkeley we all decided to visit. The new store is amazing!! My husband and I were not in the market for any furniture but within a few minutes we found the perfect High back Falcon chair for our guest room...and with the efficient and professional help of Desiree we were able to find an ottoman and pick fabric for it to match. We completed the transaction in less than 15 minutes and were on our way to a dinner engagement. Jason Whipple, Store Manager became our contact for the process to have the ottoman recovered and both of pieces of furniture refurbished. His communication with us was timely and professional throughout. The chair and the ottoman were delivered today and they are absolutely PERFECT!! We love them and we are looking forward to shopping again at Mid Century Mobler. Fantastic selection of mid-century furniture and incredible service!! read more

It's rare that I write a review on Yelp, but this business deserves to be rewarded. They have a huge selection of beautiful mid century furniture by notable Danish and American designers. The space is well organized and easy to navigate. Parking is plentiful and free on Ashby Ave. Julian, the owner, is knowledgeable, professional, friendly and goes out of his way to make sure his customers are happy. He made sure the bookcase was delivered in pristine condition. There was a minor scratch on the top of the bookcase that he magically made disappear and there was a very minor issue with a slightly sticky sliding glass door that he fixed, even though I had purchased the bookcase without a requirement that the issue be resolved. Jason (unfortunately I forgot the name of his help) delivered the bookcase on time and was friendly, courteous and professional. I highly recommend Mid Century Mobler - easily the BEST mid century furniture dealer in the East Bay and perhaps the greater Bay Area! read more

This place is a gem! I stumbled upon it by coincidence and went in. Long story short: We own two of their chairs now, and this will not be the last of it. Mid Century Moebler is wonderful. A clean, very tidy warehouse, run by furniture experts. They offer mid 20th century pieces, mostly Scandinavian design and also newer pieces: Wood, pleasant curves, incredibly comfortable and stylish. The owner and staff are real pros and are very nice. They have their own very upholstery team. They worked with us to re-upholster the chairs. They look phantastic now. Mid Century furniture styles seem in general to work great with the smaller houses here in the Bay Area (Berkeley) The chairs, cabinets and tables are not outsized like most modern furniture and humongous in scale like tanks. Instead, they fit very well into smaller rooms. And yet very, very cozy to sit in them. The quality is great. read more

I just received the desk I purchased online from Mid Century Møbler's Etsy shop. It is gorgeous! Julian made the whole experience a real pleasure. He encouraged me to ask questions and was readily available to answer them with detailed information. His enthusiasm for the furniture was apparent. I felt more like I was being educated about Danish Modern furniture than being given a sales pitch. When I decided on the piece, he made the process of having it shipped across the country easy and completely smooth. He gave me access to the tracking information and the phone number to the movers, who provided "white glove" service. I recently purchased a mid century home in Portland and found Mid Century Mobler on Instagram and then visited their extensive and well organized website. I ordered a beautiful Danish case piece and was expecting to pay for freight but was happily surprised that they offered free shipping. Since a truck was headed to Portland I decided to find a pair of lounge chairs. I purchased a pair that were unrestored and had them reupholstered in Portland, I was expecting to have the upholsterer polish the wood but was happily surprised to find that they had been finished before they were sent out. We purchased a Johannes Andersen dining table and Erik Buch chairs from Mid Century Mobler and love them. Desiree was great throughout the process, showing us through the showroom, answering all our questions about refinishing and reupholstering, helping select fabric and arranging for fabric samples to be delivered to our house. Communication was great as we waited for the refinishing process, which was completed on schedule. The table and chairs looked gorgeous after their careful restoration and look great in our home.
