I've driven by the shop several times and wondered what it was--I saw the solidarity fist; bar? Union headquarters? I found out what it was when I ended up here to buy souvenirs when flying home to visit family. They have TONS of stuff, lots of t-shirts and sweatshirts, but also hats, glasses, mugs... even pacifiers with the Chicago flag on them (you know I bought one for the toddler). They have some standard Chicago flag stuff but they also put their spin on it with some flags made with animal paws, or maybe my favorite was the one with apples on it. I think that's what lured me in, actually; my best friend is a teacher and I wanted to get one to take to her. The guy that works there told me the story, that the teacher's union was going to strike and this was a design they had come up with and Rep CHI started printing them. I looooooove the way the Chicago flag is used as the basis of so many designs and this is one of my favorites. Prices are super reasonable and you'll find lots of great stuff here. If you have visitors, I'd definitely bring them here first to look for souvenirs. The parking is fairly easy, all street in this area of Jeff/Portage Park. And grab a few of their little buttons on the way out!

Arrived at the store and asked which computer I could use to login to my account to print the label. Logged in and printed label. Attached label to package and handed it to the kid behind the counter. He says it's $1.22. Didn't even realize he was talking to me. So person who answered the phone made no mention of a fee. The kid who told me which computer I could use to print out the label made no mention of the fee. No sign next to the computer making any mention of a fee. When I hit the print button on the computer screen, it made no mention of a fee. It is their job to make the customers aware of a fee beforehand allowing us to decide if we still want to use this service. A woman in the store at the same time said she wanted to use the fax machine. She was immediately made aware of the cost, prior to using this service. CHARGING ME AFTER THE FACT IS ILLEGAL. What prevents them from charging me any amount they want. Should've taken my package and left. The amount charged is not the point.

Yvonne was so friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I needed to ship my work laptop overnight to my company's IT department. I figured FedEx could handle the packing and shipping and it worked out really well. Yvonne took great care in packing the laptop and triple-checking the name/spelling/address for the shipping label. Since it needed to be shipped overnight, I figured the price would be hefty (yay for company reimbursement!). All that really mattered was that my laptop arrived next day as promised. The place looks like the standard FedEx Office Center. Copy machine, packing material, basic stationery needs. It's clean, there is parking in the front and back. Bonus it's across the street from Target so it's easy to make a trip to FedEx part of an errand day.
