I had to take an uber to the Oveido office because my car was in the shop. So my appointment was at 1:00. I arrived around 12:40. I had to leave extra early because of relying on an uber. The receptionist told me through the door that they were on lunch break. I was like... well I had to take an uber because my car is in the shop. She then reluctantly opened the door and said I could wait in the waiting room. Reflections dermatology is better as far as not closing up the office for a lunch break and also great customer service, however extremely expensive. The PA or nurse practitioner here at Mid FL actually froze a few spots for me without charging an additional fee. This to me was really exceptional as reflections dermatology won't do anything cosmetic without charging a major amount. So.... For anything covered by insurance I usually go to Reflections, but for anything cosmetic I usually go to Mid Florida. I guess as with any company it all depends on whom you see and whom is working at the time. read more

Just a terrible experience. I have a basil cell carcinoma on my lower eye lid attached to my face. They said they would take care of it in a kind manner. They dropped me & said they couldn't help me. So many offices. Msgs don't get through. Receptionist arguing with a patient at front desk over and over again. What's up with that? I'd pass them by.... read more

Scheduling is terrible. I had to different occasions where I was told a certain date/time and was booked on a totally different date, but same time. I take off of work to make my appointments and seems the office can care less that they made a mistake. I still kept the date that was incorrectly scheduled and come to find out the NP I see will not even be in office. So now I have to wait even longer for an appt w/ a condition that is worsening and very uncomfortable. Not to mention, my chart states that I was provided a starter pack of prescription meds???? That NEVER happened. I tested positive for Psoriasis and was not told this until one year later. RED FLAGS - MED MAL. Needless to say, I have been going to this office since 2019 and I am now looking for another dertmatologist. read more

(09/09/2024) Trying to make an appointment at this place, the receptionist asked me for a referral. Finally, my primary clinic sent my referral, and the receptionist, with an attitude, said, "To be able to make your appointment, it's going to take 2-3 days to process because they have over 30 clinics," and blah blah blah. She didn't need to remind me that they have over 30 clinics, and what that has to do with my appointment. I've never had a clinic act so condescending over a referral and appointment. I told her never mind, and I made another appointment with a different doctor, who didn't make me jump through hoops to be able to see a dermatologist. No wonder this facility has less than 2-star reviews. Thank God I didn't waste my time. (09/13/2024) Update: After I called a different dermatologist, made an appointment with another doctor, saw a different doctor, and already received prescribed medication, this clinic called me today to ask if I wanted to schedule an appointment. Seriously? After four days? No, thank you. You lost a long-term patient due to a condescending receptionist. What we learn is that being kind to others doesn't cost a thing, and that's how you build relationships with potential patients. Don't waste your time with this clinic; there are other great doctors in the Orlando, Florida area ready to take care of you without the unnecessary hoops to jump through to get a simple appointment. read more

This is probably the most stingiest office I have ever been to when it comes to prescriptions. They only give you like one refill because they want you to keep coming back for the co-pay. They really don't care about their patients at all as they are very hardliners when it comes to getting refills on Prescriptions that are helpful to the patient. They want to be able to bill your insurance company and get their money, rather than having your health be OK by letting you get one refill. It is ridiculous. I am going to look for another provider. read more

I have been going to this location since 2009. I have seen several doctors and PAs over the years, but I've seen Dr. Staffold and Dr. Salinas the most. I have a skin condition that was diagnosed by this office, and have had many moles removed because they came back as high risk for melanoma. All of their work in removing and biopsies, and small surgeries has been clean and problem free. I receive full body check ups every 6 months, and have recently began receiving Botox treatments as well. I feel the physicians I have been seen by at this office have always been professional, caring, and listen to my concerns as well as educated me on my particular skin condition and how to care for it. I have been very pleased with my Botox results as well. Recently I visited the office for a Botox appointment early in the morning and was greeted at the front desk by an employee who was incorrectly wearing her face mask (mouth covered but nose was completely out and exposed). I was a little confused about seeing this, as I was under the impression that all medical staff knew how to properly wear PPE. Thankfully, the rest of the staff in the office was wearing masks correctly. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer on the desk, but no paperwork to sign in as there had been pre-Covid. This location is easy to find via GPS and has plenty of parking. read more

Maybe I have received such excellent medical care since moving to Orlando that I have very high expectations. And maybe I should--quite frankly, when it has to do with something as personal and important as my precious body, I really want the health care team to be interested, knowledgeable, and thorough. I realize to the health care professional it's "just their job," however, to me, it is everything because it is my health and well being at stake. It's not that the visit was bad or the staff lacked competence--it was just minimal service, with minimal interest. The nurse practitioner seemed as if she was afraid to touch me. I heard entirely too much of my own health information while waiting in the exam room. All I could keep telling myself is, " I really and truly should not be hearing this." But I did. There was hardly anyone else there, so I did not make a big fuss about it. I had to ask questions that I felt should have been explained to me. I felt as if I were directing the office visit, because if I didn't my needs would not have been met. I got what I wanted out the visit--prescriptions to take to the pharmacy, however I ended up going home and doing on-line research to find out more about self care. I'll go back in 6 months to follow up. I think this place is OK for my needs, however if I had a serious condition I would not return. read more

The actual visit was fine. I saw the nurse practitioner for about 10 minutes, got a slew of Rx topicals and was told to come back in 6 weeks. The topicals apparently have to be filled at a special pharmacy in Tampa, which is where we run into a problem. My visit was 3 weeks ago, and I still have not been able to fill my prescriptions. A note in my file said they were handwritten (which they weren't), and I have had a back-and-forth battle with the office to make sure all 4 scripts were sent to the pharmacy. 4 (answered) phone calls later (not counting the 4 other calls made to the office during office hours where I was directed to a voicemail that was never answered), I think I might have finally gotten everything sent. It should not be this hard to get a Rx filled. Won't be going back. read more

I totally agree with the other reviews. I relocated to Orlando and the service and quality of patient care is not up to my expectations. However, I got what I needed which were prescriptions for acne.But I did not get my other prescriptions which the PA called into an unidentified pharmacy that never contacted me about my RX. This was 2 months ago, and I still don't have them! They did a biopsy as well, which I am now seeing seems to be a trend with this office. As a result, I was charged a new patient fee and a biopsy fee which should have been covered. I am not happy with the billing department not being transparent with the charges up front! read more

The WORST Service ever. The Dr. was in the examiner room for TWO seconds, he ordered the nurse to make a biopsy and he left without any explanation and even without explaining what he saw or found. I have been calling for the biopsy results for two weeks and still waiting. They do not answer the phone, I have left message because always there is an answering machine who ask you for a message and they never call back. I called the appointment scheduler to see if she can contact them, after being contacted with them, they told me to hang up because the nurse will call me immediately from her office, STILL WAITING. But they did not delay on send you a bill... REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. My son had a biopsy too, and he is in the same position waiting for the results even when I have been calling. I had the opportunity to visit the office at Ashley Park and the one at Alta Monte springs. The one at metro West which is located is Ashley Park is nice, clean , horrible patient services, employees gossiping one from the other and sadly after waiting over an hour Dr Gutierrez Saw me for 2 exact minutes, he's rude, no compassion just wants to bill you insurance and won't even allowed to explain my concern. Second I go to Alta Monte springs and saw doctor Plank, girls were nice at the front desk, he explained what he can do and it was going to be submitted to my insurance. Called 7 no one knew what I was talking about until my last called that I was told the doctor don't recommend the surgery . What??? He told me lose a few pounds and come back which I did, his story was not medically necessary after 6 months of the appointment. I call my insurance and the office never got in contact with them. Please don't guide yourself from the billboards, do so research first that way you won't waste time and money. read more

Not sure about the other office locations, but couldn't be happier with the service provided here. I was able to be seen quickly and the lady "PA" Rochelle, was extremely helpful, and did a complete skin exam. I was worried before coming I was going to leave with more holes than I came in with, but she was able to avoid cutting me up without good reason, like other Drs have in the past. Probably the worst professional experience I've ever had. I'm a melanoma survivor (15 years) and have had many screening over those years. First time at Mid-Florida. I was in the Altamonte Springs office. Went in to have insect bites identified and skin screening (have to do it every 6 months). The nurse practitioner spent time only talking to her buddy in the room. She also bragged to her buddy that she was the fastest in and out of the room person in the place (she seemed pretty proud of that). I had to ask multiple times concerning the medication I was getting as to the use and application. It seemed to be a bother to explain it. She was really concerned about being fast. The skin cancer screening took less than 30 seconds and did NOT include looking at my hands (they are usually examined both sides and between fingers), didn't look at my feet or between my toes, no check at waistline or previous melanoma surgery scar. She never even took a close look at me at all other than ONE spot on my scalp (I have thick hair, sot not readily visible scalp). She was excellent however in promoting a cosmetic procedure assuring me she "did these all the time" (even though I had been told by two previous dermatologists that the treatment she suggested would not work on my condition. I was also prescribed exactly half of the required medicine needed for medical condition I had. the pharmacist told me when I picked up the medicine that it likely would not be enough....and he was right. so had to call in the next day (took 4 people and I had to give my name and DOB all 4 times) to get a second script. Oh yes, one more thing. After I was 30 minutes down the road I got a call asking for my credit card info as the NP had forgotten to tell the admin about one of the chargeable services performed. I placed two calls the next day to try and speak with someone regarding the issues (just hoping to get someone else to take a reasonable look at me), no call back..... read more

I am not very happy with their practice. I went in to have a routine mole examine and ended up having 5 skin samples taken. In the past, when I have had my moles looked at and they thought they looked suspicious, they removed the mole completely. They didn't just take a sample. My issue is this... out of the 5 samples taken they say 4 were abnormal. Of course this is fantastic for them. They now want me to come back to remove the mole completely. So, for my past visit I had to pay $800 out of my pocket for just a sample. Now they want to do this again and rack up another $800 out of my pocket if not more. Sorry, but I will be getting my records and going someplace else. read more

Absolutely horrible professional service. They do not know how to follow through and communicate with customers. If you call the office in order to obtain a refill on a prescription, then be prepared to have to call numerous times in order to finally get the refill completed. If you leave messages/voice-mails for the nurses, then be prepared for them not to return your calls. I called on a Wednesday to get a refill for a prescription. After explaining to an employee what I needed done, she transferred me to a nurse's voice-mail so I left a message regarding the prescription I needed refilled and to give me a call once it had been completed. I called the next day since I had not heard from anyone at the office regarding my request. I was then told to call back on Monday to make my request again despite already leaving a detailed message with what I needed done and also communicating to someone currently in the office what I needed done. Consequently, I called again the following week to check on the status of my request since I called nearly a week ago about the refills. However, I was dismayed when told that now (conveniently) my doctor who always sees me is out on vacation and the nurse cannot issue the refill without the doctor signing off on it. I have my issues with this particular procedure since nurses have routinely had the power to issue me new refills, however, my primary issue is that after a week of calling the employees, they did not have the professionalism or decency to let me know that my refill had not been issued yet due to the doctor leaving for vacation the week I called! Communication is a significant detriment for the employees at this office, and based on other comments and my past experiences, it has negatively impacted business. Not being able to provide a customer with something is understandable to a degree, BUT not communicating on a CONSISTENT basis is a problem and one that I anticipate will begin to take its toll on the business soon if employees are not better instructed or trained on professionalism. P.S. I did not want to give them one star, but had to in order to write the review. Poor service should not be tolerated! read more

Horrible professional experience. My mother used to be a patient here, last appointment made with the same insurance two years ago but needed to make an appointment for a check-up. Spoke with the front desk and they were able to give us an appointment with the PA the next day. We came in very early, after having to drive an hour and a half to the appointment, and only then did they check the insurance reference and noticed they don't take our plan anymore. No one decided to check BEFORE nor call us to prevent us from driving all this way for nothing. Horrible service and no remorse whatsoever. She gave the ultimatum of paying fully out of pocket or going somewhere else and then she said "at least I found it before you went in to see the doc". Let me say that from the beginning of selecting a physician for my 9-year old son to the actual care and aftercare was nothing short of amazing. The staff was very attentive and helpful when we started the appointment taking great care to explain the process for our visit. Dr. Chris Savage was amazing. He took the time to explain the procedure he was going to perform and was honest about what was going to happen. He properly set expectations on what we could expect following the procedure and let us know that he was available anytime for questions. The staff of Mid Florida Derm followed up a week later to check on my son and upon answers to some questions scheduled a follow-up exam with the doctor. I appreciated the thoroughness and courtesy they showed. Definitely recommend. read more

I came in and saw the Physician Assistant, and I was able to get the right combination of creams and oral medications to help my acne issues. However, once I called to try and get refills on the cream medications, I was told that because the Physician Assistant is no longer working there, I would have to come in and see the doctor before they would authorize the refills. I have 2 remaining refills that have the PHYSICIAN'S name on the prescriptions. Additionally, this Ashley Park office switched from Philidor Pharmacy to Benzer Pharmacy which was part of the problem. The office authorized my oral medication refill but they would not authorize the cream medications, unless I came in for an office visit! This makes absolutely no sense, and it is such a waste of time and money! This office is highly unorganized and the staff did not want to help me at all. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! I will be going to a different dermatologist. read more
