You can now walk from Eastvale Community Park at Hamner through River Walk Park and down to Archibald, a total round trip of 5.2 miles. Unfortunately, there has been so many kids out there racing E-bikes during the past year it is getting increasingly difficult to safely take a walk with my dog along this trail. Recently JCSD has put up 20 miles per hour speed limit signs that say yield to pedestrians and some mirrors to help see around sharp turns. 20 mile per hour speed limit might be an okay speed limit on the straight parts of the trail, but 20 miles per hour isn't at all safe around the sharp turns. I have had to jump in the bushes and pull my dog off the trail several times from E-bikes racing around a curve in the trail.

They actually stop and wait for you to pass. I've had that happen many times. My complaint is about people with their dogs. I had another incident with someone who didn't honor the leash law. Small, but a reminder that I can't go to this park with my small dog. It's just not safe for him and it might not be for me either. I don't know these dogs who are loose. Well, at least I wasn't jumped on by a large dog, like last time. That was pretty bad and the dog did hurt me. What if that had been a small child? So, my second incident... I actually saw a woman walk out of the park, leaving her dog inside the park, to choose whether to follow her or come towards me and my 10 pound dog. There's a walkway, back into the adjoining neighborhood. This was not through the parking lot. The medium sized dog, maybe 40-45 pounds, was anxious as to which way to choose. He/she started to come towards us. I mean... honestly! She would no doubt defend her actions by saying her dog is friendly... ...yadda, yadda. Point is, THERE IS A LEASH LAW THAT IS ***NOT HONORED!*** People who don't leash their dogs here are growing in this park. No one does! And because no one does, everyone seems to think it's ok. It isn't! It's not ok. While a large dog might be friendly, they can pounce on a small dog and injure it. Or a small child! If your dog is unleashed, it's out of your control and that's the point. The whole thing makes it near impossible to use this park. It's in my neighborhood so that just should not be. I'm still giving this 4 stars though because of the gold disk guys... they are mostly guys. They're great. ...

You can rent 2 disc's for $5. The bathrooms are clean, but small, including the sinks. Wear hiking shoes or at least shoes with good support. I asked how long the course takes an average person to complete, and I was told there's no lights out there and what time the grill closes, if I plan on eating after. I took that to mean this course is so long, no one finishes, so don't let the sunset or you will be lost in the wilderness til dawn. There's 27 hole here. I was told if it was too much after the 9th hole, that is a good place to stop, because the 10th is right out back of lodge near the grill. I'm not in the best shape, but I'm not in the worst. I'd say I'm an average person. I've disc golfed enough times to own my own disc's, but not enough to own a disc bag. This course took a solid 3 hours for me to complete including rests and enjoying the view. It took me an average of 5 throws per hole. I had a lot of fun. Great hike. Bring water. The view was what this place is all about. I did not experience any racism here. I did experience very direct and straight to the point help, so if you are looking to be coddled or have tenderness shown, this might not be the place. I appreciate the honest directness given by the staff. If anything they were under staffed and that nonsense stuff has no place or time here. I did try the burger. It was good. My party also had the Philly cheesesteak, which looked better than the burger I had. Beers were big n cold. Parking was plenty and easy.

Lots of back and forth in certain parts of the course so be mindful of your fellow players. Keep up the etiquette as well to offer others to pass through who have less in your group that play faster. this was my first time trying disc golf but i had so much fun! with an ultimate frisbee background,…read moreit was an adjustment since the discs are smaller and thrown at a diff angle than with the big discs. the guy up front was super helpful and knowledgeable in helping my friend and i choose discs. it was only $3 to play on weekdays for an 18-hole course !!! such a steal. most holes were par 3 and we did par 4 on most so don't be intimidated if you're a beginner like me in disc golf. it's a nice stroll in the park with a frisbee twist, scenery is beautiful (esp the lake) and locals are so encouraging! i would definitely come back 10/10 experience all around
